Being upstairs provides a bit of a view - in almost all directions. It's a very nice atmosphere in which to dance (or enjoy any social event). Come check it out.

Yesterday, I found this wonderful garden shop in PT LOMA Village! Theresa was very knowledgeable and even answered my questions about issues I'm having in my yard with "pests", etc. I bought a new plant (HOYA), 3 pots of herbs, which were beautifully healthy looking, and a pretty little pot to hold the small air plant I also bought. I plan to go back soon and shop some more! They have vinegars, jams, greeting cards, lots of pots for planting your new plants in, and oh so much more...check it out...you'll love it!! read more

Make sure you give yourself enough time when planning on getting therWe found some street parking a couple blocks away and walked. Our instructor, Aurora, did a quick demo and then we were left to create our pieces. We had 3 balls of clay (give or take a half pound each ball) to work with and you get one free piece firing included with the class, and additional pieces to fire are $10 each. It's pretty autonomous but if you need help the instructor is there to assist you. After you create your pieces, you pick a glaze and then clean up the work station. The class is 90 minutes and it goes by quick, time flies when you're having fun!! ---- Overall: had a fantastic time creating pieces that will hopefully be functional ware, a great date idea, I can't wait to be back and try out their open studio times

Our class was on a really nice day, and for a super reasonable price, we got 1.5 hours on the wheel, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The wheel throwing class is either indoors (behind the plant shop) or in the back (half exposed garage). We were in the back and it was a good amount of space for our group of 4 people. There were more couples next to us as well. Also, I loved that they allow you to bring outside drinks to enjoy while creating, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Our instructor was great--attentive when needed but also gave space to explore at your own pace. This wasn't our friend time on the wheel, but we were with friends who were new to wheel-throwing, so he assisted when needed. I can't wait to see our finished ceramic pieces! Whether you're a plant lover, an aspiring ceramicist, or just looking for a unique experience, Botanica is definitely worth checking out. After your session, it's a good excuse to explore the streets of OB - especially on a very sunny day. I'll definitely come back another time.

Flowers super fresh, I got more than was supposed to buy but is Dia de los Muertos season and who cant say no to the yellow and orange marygolds. I also bought plants for my balcony. I came to this event for Sip & Swap, where you bring your own plant and swap it with others. I loved the idea and had never been to North Park Nursery before, so I was excited to visit for the first time. The space itself is huge, with plants everywhere, from the left side to the back to the right side. They also have stickers, cards, and all sorts of plant-related items. All the plants looked really healthy, and there's a wide variety to choose from. The event even had drinks, like an agave drink, which was free. The vibe was great, and there's outdoor seating where you can relax and admire the plants. Prices range from about $20 to $70, depending on the type and size of the plant. I especially loved the section in the back called "plants that need extra love." These plants are 50% off, perfect if you want to rejuvenate a slightly struggling plant, and they even come with a vase, so you can care for it on your own schedule. They also have pet-friendly plants, which is great if you have dogs, cats, or other animals at home. Overall, I really loved this place. If you're a plant person, I would definitely stop by if you're in the North Park area.
