Quick friendly service. I just got a kaffir lime tree from here. The seller had a backyard that resembled a forest. It was amazing! Great experience and I hope this tree thrives!

The best place in City Heights and my favorite San Diego nursery! I can be here all day -- and so…read morecan my pup Enzo. First of all, the place is huge. There's so much to see, so bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfy shoes since the ground can be uneven. You'll encounter steps, slopes, and some dirt paths. The parking lot is small and fills up fast, so I like to get there early, especially if I'm doing a big plant haul. It can be tricky loading plants when you're parked far away. What doesn't this place have? There's an onsite bar and grill that's dog‑friendly, has live music, and serves brunch on weekends. There's also a cute boutique flower/gift shop with curated items perfect for any plant lover. They offer free local classes to help educate the community -- I've taken the shrub class, but they have tons of gardening‑related workshops. They have chickens, birds, turtles, and more. They care for and rescue animals, which is amazing. They sell compost, and they have every plant you can imagine, plus a large selection of seeds, pots, tools, beekeeping supplies, and canning equipment. I love that this is a neighborhood, locally owned nursery that truly gives back. They do so much to educate the community and promote sustainability. Please support them and get your next plant baby here. A perfect place for kids and pups!

I've been coming here for over a decade, and it's just as incredible now as it was when I first…read morediscovered it. I've gone on multiple anniversary trips with my husband because we love being able to have a nice meal, visit farm animals, and buy all the plants we can fit in our car. We just did this a couple days ago for our anniversary, hence my updated review. We probably shop here 3-5 times/year and love pointing out changes to the grounds during our visits, it's like a new surprise every trip. I'd spend birthdays here too if I could, but they close every year between Christmas and New Years (rightfully so, they give so much to this community and deserve some rest!). This updated review is more of a thank you to everyone at City Farmer's, truly one of the most special places in San Diego.
