I wanted to bring some coffee to the nurse station at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, where my dad was being treated. I decided to stop by at Arnie's Bakery after reading about it in the community page. The staff at the bakery were pleasant and polite. The girl at the front was very helpful and kind. I met Arnie, who answered all my questions about their coffee traveler option. Upon learning that I was taking the coffee to the amazing nurses at the hospital, Arnie generously offered to comp a second coffee traveler and a box of pastries for the nurses! Arnie adeptly made the coffee while the helpful girl made me a complimentary strawberry banana smoothie. It was delicious! Just came to grab a box of pastries to take to someone's house and they literally charge you for the pastry box!!! I couldn't even believe. They have these ugly clear ones that only fit a 4-5 pieces small amount I needed more and she literally told me I had to either do 2 clear things or pay for a box... all my years I've never paid for a pastry box. What is needed is an American cafe or bar to replace the wonderful Sweet Cherries Diner and the Crows Nest. We tried Arnie's Bakery & Cafe for breakfast before the Grand Opening. The service is warm and friendly and the place has a friendly neighborhood vibe. Arnie himself was there and was very welcoming. My husband enjoyed a breakfast sandwich wrapped in fresh lavash. And I was really happy to have a beautiful mixed fruit salad. The menu is broad with lots to choose from. Extensive menu we had a tough time choosing, we had the breakfast boat which was much larger in person than the picture, the crust was perfectly browned and hot, perfect for breaking off chunks of dough and dipping it into the egg yolks. The Ham & cheese croissant was delicious, one of the employees brought us some samples OMG it was delicious turned out to be the Cheese Roll...think Cream Cheese Danish!
