What an awesome experience we had this morning at this beautiful small cafe in Montrose. Before my hair appointment we decided to pop in for some coffee and pastry and to my delight the even had Armenian coffee and panini pressed breakfast sandwiches that were crunchy and soft at the same time. The staff is so helpful and lovely. My son had a freshly baked cinnamon roll and orange juice. We both loved this place and I can't wait to come back for lunch! Everything is clean and organized and truly unique. Thank you for an awesome independently owned coffee shop that's local to us. We will definitely be stopping by again. The food was mediocre at best, especially considering the prices. The biggest disappointment was dessert, which felt like something thrown together at the last minute: a few scoops of ice cream stacked on a plain slice of bread, a few banana slices on the side, some chocolate syrup drizzled over it, and an Oreo or two for decoration. There was nothing creative, refined, or memorable about it. For what they charge, I expected something far more thoughtful and well-executed. We've visited this place before and never had any issues -- until today. Came in with my family at 6:30 PM for dessert and drinks. Both Yelp and Google listed the closing time as 8:00 PM, so we felt completely comfortable stopping by. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a poor start. The staff member at the front greeted us with a noticeably unwelcoming attitude. Before we could even glance at the menu, she immediately informed us they were closing in 20 minutes and could only offer coffee. When I politely asked for their closing time, I was cut off and told 7:00 PM -- a full hour earlier than what's listed online. When I pointed out the discrepancy with their posted hours, there was no apology or explanation, just a dismissive "we close at 7." I understand that staff can feel the fatigue of a long shift near closing time, but accurate hours and basic courtesy go a long way. We left without ordering anything. This type of demeanor is simply not acceptable in a customer-facing role -- regardless of one's position within the business. Tried this nice cafe on a Saturday morning and ordered a latte and sandwich for dine in with a friend. Even though there was a line in front of us, the wait time was not long, the staff member in the front greeted us warmly as she took our orders. The wait time for both our drinks and sandwiches were roughly about 5-10 minutes which is very fast in my opinion and the servers who brought them out to us were kind and accommodating. There were a lot of seating available both inside and outside, depending on your preference. I ordered the BLT sandwich and really enjoyed every bit of it! The sandwich was just the right amount of crisp with the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado inside to balance the entirety of the sandwich well. The latte was well made, a good blend of coffee and sweetness to pair well with the sandwich. I had a relatively good experience at this cafe in Montrose. Walking-in, I liked the cozy vibe the cafe offered. A great place to sit and chat with a friend. For drinks, I ordered the Iced Rosewater Latte and it was great! I had to order it because this cafe was heavily influenced by Armenian elements. The espresso in the latte tasted great and mixed well with the rosewater infused milk. I'm not usually a fan of floral tasting things, but this was tasty! It wasn't too strong and it was not too sweet and refreshing. For food, my friend and I shared the biscoff dessert toast and it was disappointing. For around $11, it was just 3 pieces of toast with some biscoff butter, crumbled biscoff cookies, and sliced bananas. This is something a kid can make at home, so it was really overpriced for what it was. The dessert toast itself was meh, it just didn't give a restaurant/cafe quality. Would not recommend unfortunately. Overall, a good experience despite the toast. I would come back just for the drinks and maybe the other food items. read more

**Rating the experience with a young child** Finally made it to Toasted! I showed my 6 year old this spot on Yelp and he had his heart set on trying the Tutti Frutti toast, so we decided to give it a shot! It does get quite crowded on a weekend, and I think they are walk-in only. You order at the counter and you find a spot to sit, which is always a bit stressful on a weekend. There were lots of spots in the sun, or tables that were on a slant, however we got super lucky and got seating on the shade. I would suggest that the restaurant should invest maybe in a couple more outdoor umbrellas though. I must say, the Tutti Frutti was MUCH better than I expected! I'm definitely glad that we got the scoops of ice cream to go with it, it just added to the fun! My son LOVED this. He said he would give this place a MILLION stars if he could :D I made him some "super" bites on a spoon where I created a concoction using all the bits that it came with (marshmallow, the toast, the Frutti pebbles, ice cream, strawberry) as he took it all in one bite. He was so mesmerized with what was going on in his palate that he just leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and couldn't move lol! It's definitely large and filling, so I would suggest sharing. We stumbled upon this place when we were walking around the area. There is plenty of free public parking around. No need to pay for the meters. The lots are 3 hours and the metered parking has a 2 hour limit. Cute little area to wander around too. We ordered the turkey pesto sandwich, large fries, and the simply egg plate. Their bread is so good! Drinks: black iced tea and a sugar free vanilla latte. Everything was delicious! The turkey pesto sandwich was so big I had enough for dinner! They were pretty busy on a Saturday around 11:30am but we found a table inside right when we ordering. They are so incredibly friendly. There is a coded-door restroom for customers as well. They have a self serve water station with your regular hot sauces to grab if you want. We will definitely be going back - Especially, to try the coffee flight! read more

Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend for a quick sit down lunch. There was little to no wait time as it's set up to order, pay, and then sit at a table and wait for our order. We sat at the tables along Honolulu Ave and we people watched in the quiet morning. We ordered lattes and sandwiches. My boyfriend got the caramel latte and after trying a sip of it, I enjoyed it more than my white chocolate mocha latte. Its like I got more coffee flavor with the caramel so that'll be my next order for sure. The white chocolate mocha was good too, but it was a little too sweet for me and almost tasted candylike. I still enjoyed it though. We also got the ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches, but we both substituted the ham for bacon and the sandwich bread for croissant. We were pleasantly surprised at the flakiness of the croissant, the choice of the boiled egg, and the red onions complimenting the whole sandwich. I think the service was fine and the ambiance was enjoyable but other than that everything was mediocre. My friend ordered a biscof dessert and when they brought it out we realized it was really dry toast bread with a little drizzle of biscof and banana on the side. It was more so that it was lacking in flavor and it was very dry. I got the turkey pesto which came out 20 min later than my friend's food. Again it was nothing I would go back for. I found this place on Yelp and did not disappoint. They have different selection of drinks, desserts, and sandwiches. I ordered two toast desserts and Flight Board which was so good. Flight Board has four drinks which you select. You can select coffee or drinks. I chose lavender , orange blossom, matcha, and rose water which were good. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside since it was really cozy and nice decorations. Lady who took my order was nice and friendly. She was patient and explained the flight board drinks. It took about 10 minutes to get our order which is not a problem. P.S they ask the diners to and throw away the trash and not leave it. So not sure what's the point of tipping. I would highly recommend getting it! The latte lacked flavor and wasn't super hot but was satisfying enough to be paired with the sandwich. Staff were incredibly friendly and seemingly busy around 9 or 10am with most guests sitting outside. At the end of my meal, I bussed my own table and found the cafe to be somewhat busy with people dining inside. Both inside and outside are great for relaxing and dining. Had my dog with me outside. The staff was helpful and patient to give us time to answer questions about their menu. So happy to know that they have savory toasted sandwiches and not just sweet selections. The mocha was a little sweet to balance the strong espresso shot (tasted to me like an Italian mocha). If you have the appetite try both a sweet and savory toast, each in its own way delicious. My only suggestion to the kitchen is to please add more protein on a side order of ham. I was out with my mom and decided to grab some coffee from here. Let me start off by saying this is one of the cleanest places iv visited They have nice seating inside and outside. There is also plenty of parking around (all meter parking.) The service was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ended up getting an iced latte, a hot latte, and two pastries. Been here before and gave it a try again and was not disappointed! I got an iced rose latte (1/2 sweet) perfect if you don't enjoy overly sweet drinks and a girl led cheese. They were extremely busy on the last day of 2024 but the ladies behind the counter were working their best and still acknowledging customers walking in. Love this place! I've been going here frequently for the last three years I think, maybe more? Probably since they opened actually. I think we've tried all of their sandwiches and their dessert toasts. Everything is just very delicious. The dessert toasts are just decadent and refreshing especially in the summer afternoon. There's indoor and outdoor seating so you can bring your dog. We frequently bring our dog so hardly eat indoors, which is cozy and can fill up quickly. The service is always great. We stopped at Toasted before going to the Lost Book Store in Montrose. Pros: Public parking was a few feet away, the line was short and they took our order quickly. Had cute seating by the bay windows and outside. The dessert was presentable and picture worthy. Cons: Customer service was meh, the coffee was okay, and although the dessert was cute, it took a while for them to serve it and it was a mess to eat (although the strawberries and ice cream were ) Lastly, this is a tricky one, they have the whole screen touchpad they swivel for you to tip and pay and everyone behind you see's your total and how much you tip. I've read articles on these and the tip culture so I thought it was worth mentioning for those that care. If I'm in Montrose again for coffee, I will probably try a different coffee shop. Let's get.....Toasted! Double entendre aside, I completely agree with this sentiment painted on the wall of Toasted. First time visiting today, partly because it's always so busy (a good sign!) and I was impressed. I tried a decaf Americano and the goat cheese/fig sandwich. The coffee was rich, flavorful and not bitter at all, really good. The goat cheese and fig sandwich was impossibly delicious, on an incredibly light roll and perfectly balanced with hard-boiled egg and fresh spinach. Service was friendly and prompt. Ambiance is cozy coffee shop. Toasted is open for breakfast and lunch, offering great coffee, sandwiches and, of course, toasts. I used to LOVE this place. Any pics you see on Yelp of the big thick cut slices of toast? Yeah, those are old pics... now you only get small, thin, pathetic slices of toast - which is disappointing considering the place is called "Toasted" and toast is supposed to be a highlight.
