This was the only restaurant open before 4 at top of the rock. Wait was about 30 minutes and we were sat. Dining room has a great view. Our server was attentive so no issues there. I ordered the corn chowder which i thought would have whole corn in a cream based sauce. It came out pureed and had just ok flavor. My son got the kids chicken nuggets and fries and said they tasted weird. I tried both and it appears they need to change out the grease. Husband got the chimichanga and the chicken looked gray but he said it was ok. Would skip this place unless they make some changes soon.

Amazing views of Table Rock Lake. Good food and atmosphere. Nice place to catch some grub after touring the Natural History Museum. The Mushroom Taco's were so GOOD! 3 tacos's loaded with mushrooms, guacamole, pico & pickled onions. Includes rice & beans.

If you're in Branson, I consider this a must... be it for a meal, or simply to see the Barn structure, golf course, and scenery/landscaping surrounding it. Wow! That darling little church visible from the veranda, so gorgeous! Beware, you probably shouldn't arrive hangry - be prepared to wait. It is always bustling and justifiably so (for reasons already stated). We sat out on the perimeter deck on a weather-perfect day. I got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad and dressing were delicious but those cornbread croutons? Big no. Great idea, but they were bland and an unpleasant texture.

This is such a beautiful setting. Too bad the food is mediocre at best and the service is slow. We all felt the food was very, very salty.

Food is not good at all but the scenery is top notch. They do have good corn chowder I will say. I still love top of the rock though.

10/10. Tl;dr. Excellent choice. You gotta try it…read more We're from San Antonio, so we're spoiled by options for great Mexican food. I was skeptical about a Mexican restaurant on the outskirts of Branson, Missouri, but we were pleased to find this hidden gem. If this restaurant was in San Antonio it would be on my short list of top choices, at least based on the one experience. We all agreed it exceded expectations and if we're ever back in Branson, we'll return. The parking lot was empty when we arrived, not a good sign, but it was 2:00pm on a weekday, in the off season (early May with temps in the upper 50's) so we decided to chance it. We walked in and were the only customers there. Everything only got better from there We received a healthy servings of chips with a small carafe of salsa, so no need to ask for refills. We ordered an appetizer of guacamole. It was on point. We repeatedly remarked how fresh and tasty everything was. My wife had a mango margarita. It came with plenty of mango flavor, including some fresh mango chunks. I had the ground beef chili relleno with a side order of cactus (nopales). I've had many disappointing chili rellenos, but this one was perfect. The ground beef was well seasoned and not to dry or too sloppy like you sometimes get. Is was very lightly breaded, so if you really like a lot of batter, that might be a negative for you. It was served "open-faced ", sliced open so the ground beef, topped with plenty of cheese, was on top of, not really stuffed inside the poblano chili, but it was awesome. The cactus strips had been stewed with onion, tomato and jalapeños, so it was almost like a spicy warm salsa, or if you've ever had spicy green beans cooked with tomato and jalapeño, it was kinda like that - really good. My wife had enchiladas with a side of fried ripe plantains (maduros) and our grown son had tacos. Again, everything was great. The server was attentive and food service was quick (to be fair, we were the only customers). This is a small place They have a patio but it was chilly so we sat inside. There were only 5-6 booths and 4-5 tables but the decor was nice. They played mostly mexican pop music ( incl. Selena - Bailey Este Cumbia) with some American pop - a nice mix. I almost never post to Yelp. I had to recover my password to post this, cuz its been years, but I didn't want to let this pass without giving these folks credit.

I ordered the birria tacos and they were phenomenal. The margaritas were the highlight though--the blueberry margarita was the bomb and one of the best I've had. I ordered a paloma for my wife and I, priced at $22 each -- this would be $9-$14 back in KC... I get it, resort prices, but still got sticker shock. While it looked beautiful, it was not good. Very underwhelming for what you pay, and sparse on alcohol. We got some spinach artichoke dip which was really good and helped salvage the experience. The view out on the patio is nice; you're on "the top of the rock" overlooking the lake and a golf course. It's quite manicured up there, but it's nice either way. We stuck around for the sunset show with bagpipes and a cannon firing which was interesting. At one point he played "Dixie" on the bagpipes, what the hell?? but otherwise it was kind of interesting. So much of the menu here is similar to all their other restaurants, and I found it confusing to keep up with what is what. My take on Big Cedar restaurants after a few days is that Worman House is amazing, as is Truman for breakfast, everything else is kind of all the same average spot mixed together.

I have also eaten at their Branson location before, and this one definitely has a different vibe. The Hollister location feels calmer and more relaxed. The restaurant is very clean, and I really like the open kitchen concept where you can see the cooks working. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which always makes a difference. My only personal complaint is that I wish the food had a little more flavor and spice. Their hot sauce is not very hot compared to what I usually expect from a Mexican restaurant, and I personally like Mexican food with more heat and bolder flavor. That being said, I think a lot of restaurants in the Branson/Hollister area tone things down for tourists, so that may just be the local style. The prices are a little high, but that seems pretty normal for the area. Parking can also be a little tricky depending on when you go, since it is on a narrow street with street parking. Overall, it is a clean, friendly, and nice little restaurant. I like the concept and the atmosphere. I just personally wish the food was a little spicier and had more authentic Mexican flavor.
