The Arni juniors are so small and very little meat. Wanted to do the bar but no it was closed already. Asked for draft beer got bottled beer. It says online the bar is opened till 9 nope was closed before 7. The pizza was full of ingredients and tasted good. The ambience Would have been better to eat without kids yelling and screaming and other people sitting at tables talking so loud you know all about their life. Such a good pizza spot! I would go back there again when visiting my friend who goes to Purdue. Service was great, and the staff were all really nice and efficient. Second time eating here and last time was a year ago when I was in the area. I recommend the Magnificent Mushrooms. They are stuffed with sausage, onions and cream cheese. Topped with melted mozzarella and comes with a side of marinara sauce. ($9.99) Pop is $3.29 and $15.79 for a small 10" Aiden's Big Show pizza. I would pass on the pizza next time but it was ok. Food was aw, cold pizza, kids tenders frozen, and the hamburger, was a cheeseburger and they scraped off the melted cheese. Server never asked or noticed when none of the burger was touched and opened showing the previously melted American cheese on it still. In town for an event so I wanted to give some local business some love. Went with the pizza based on the description of "tavern style" to see if it matched what I used to get in Chicago. I got a 10" sausage & pepperoni, which was being boxed up right as I walked in. Pepperoni & sausage are crumbled, which may be off putting to some. The crust of the outer pieces are crispy, but the inner pieces had a little too much chew for my liking. If I were back in town, I'd hit it...again. read more

This is my husband's FAVORITE pizza ever. He keeps a picture on his phone and drools over it periodically (we live in Colorado, so no Arni's near us). I have had it several times over the years and I must say it has grown on me. The Market Square location is my favorite. It just has a nice vibe, good char on the pizza and friendly folks. They're known just as much for their salads as their tavern thin pizzas, but when we go we get a large pepperoni (and maybe some cheese bread). They use really good quality cheese and the diced (or maybe even ground) pepperoni give it a unique taste (lots of pepperoni in each bite). Definitely the best pizza in Lafayette, IN! read more

This was a mighty unforgettable experience to say for the least. I was here for a playing event and this place's theme was so fun!! There were toys everywhere and the wall and flooring choices were clean and slick, and our waitress was so helpful and patient. Me and my party ordered, and so we waited. I got a good look around and the place seemed fairly clean and busy. When our food arrived, complaints and compliments were exchanged between us and our server and kindness showed so much in our waitress. For the food I found to be a bit much but hearty and good, my personal picks are the cheese garlick bread and the cobb salad. We stopped as a family at this strip mall location, which we think is the original. This place was recommended to us by a Purdue alum. It was nice to get outside the campus and into Lafayette. We stopped for lunch, so it was not busy. Of course we had pizza. The star was the thin, crispy crust. There were plenty of toppings. We had a veggie pizza (very good) and a BBQ chicken. The BBQ sauce had a strange tang to my taste, not bad, just different. We had a salad for the table which was standard house salad with dressing. The decor is an homage to old-school toys. The staff are hardworking. Claps and snaps all around for that. Most pizza and salads are safe. Staff and pizza = 4 stars. Decor and environment = 3 stars. I prefer the larger dining room with windows, or carry out. The toy room windowless dining room is old and stale, and seating is cramped. Some of the aisles are very narrow. My wife and I went on the very day of the restaurant's 60th anniversary. I don't know how they have been able to stay open that long. This was truly terrible. Our pizza tasted like a frozen pizza; the cheese looked great but had no flavor, and the pepperoni looked like it was pre-chewed and also was flavorless. To be fair, the crust was really good and crispy. Our salad had more meat and cheese than lettuce. However, the blue cheese dressing was fantastic. We had the breadsticks with nacho cheese sauce and marinara. As bad as the pizza was, the marinara was much worse; very oily, the onions weren't cooked down, there was no tomato flavor to speak of and it was weirdly sweet. The nacho cheese sauce was watery and clearly straight from a can. The service was ok but a little slow. The decor in our dining room was fairly bland but not much of an issue. The drinks were over $3 each! And there was much more ice than beverage. That was the final straw for me. We're not originally from the area, but we live here probably for the rest of our lives. I've heard people rave about this restaurant. I've heard stories about this being the place those who have moved away return to when they're back in Lafayette. This local institution was incredibly disappointing. We won't be back. We, and EVERYONE in the area, deserve better. read more

Arni's at Market Square is an institution. And the toy room is the heart of the institution. We were delighted to see that it's been updated and maintained, and is just as charming as it was 40 years ago. And the Arni's Junior salad is still our favorite restaurant salad, period. As for the pizza, the killer Cajun was awesome, and they handled the gluten-sensitive members of our large party without even blinking. Seems to be a local favorite so we are giving it a shot! Upon entry seems to be very small however looks can be deceiving . This place is chopped up into several smaller sectioned off rooms. The " loading dock" is the bar dining area. Very interesting decor representing the local industrial market. We came on a Sunday evening around 6 and the bar top was full, all 8 chairs lol, but the booths and tables were closed. However the manager opened up a booth for us to watch the Sunday night football. The atmosphere was quiet. The bartender seems to be new but very sweet. It does have somewhat of an old musty smell which I'm not a fan of but it is clean. We ordered the deluxe and pepperoni 10" pizzas. They were brought out fairly quick and served on cardboard. Presentation could be better. Pizza was okay but once we ordered a side of marinara and dipped our pizza in it OMG seriously this sauce is fantastic! We regret not Ordering spaghetti or the meatball sub just because the marinara sauce was so good! I want to give them 4 stars but I just can't. Presentation and taste are lowering the score for me. Then when I ask for a refund and give the pizza back, the manager AJ is called up to cancel the charge on my card and doesn't speak a word to me or apologize. What a great place. I have been going to Arni's since I was a young child. Now I have grown up and am in my 50's. This used to be one of my favorites. In the last year or so, the quality of their food has declined. Most times when we get sandwiches, they burn them. And the last salad I got there, the lettuce was old and wilted. Don't let this reflect on all locations. I am only reviewing Market Square. While I realize they all get their supplies from the same place, I'm sure the quality served to the customer probably varies from location to location. It's pretty hard to rate Arni's because I like to rate relative to the area, and there really isn't that many great pizza places around (arnies would get a 3 star in most cities). That being said, the staff and workers are very nice people, and the pizza gets the job done as well. What you get here is either bar pizza if you're from the east coast or tavern style if you're from the Chicago area meaning it's thin crust, crisp bottom, and won't take away stomach room from drinks. The pizza itself is pretty good depending on what you get for toppings. I haven't had many of their specialty pies, but you get the most bang for ypur buck with sausage or ham. They use crumbled sausage and literally spread it edge to edge which makes it delicious if that's the heartiness you're going for. Value is where this place gets a minus because a large 3 topping pizza is ~$18 which is a little steep in central Indiana for a tavern style especially if you go with veggie toppings. read more
