The food tastes fake and soggy it might not be soggy but it tastes like it. The service is pretty good except for the fact that it took an hour to get our food on a not very busy day. The setting of the place was nice if you like the worn rustic look. The restaurant also smelled like a ton of food smells mixed together which made my stomach hurt, this is obviously expected but most the time that doesn't happen to me, the food here just smelled unpleasant. 1st time at this location. Just dropped into town for the weekend. It was a Friday evening, and i ordered a chicken bacon sandwich. The young man taking my order was nearly asleep and very irritable. Seemed like i was bothering him by ordering. The worst customer service I've experienced anywhere in recent memory. I nearly stopped halfway through while he made the sandwich and left the building, but i stayed and saw it through. Walking down the street as i opened the sandwich, the chicken chinks felt very "processed", and the bacon was ok... First time in a Potbelly. I had the skinny Turkey and Swiss. It was toasted. It was pretty good. Came with a bag of chips and a fountain soda. Nothing I would run out of my way to get to do, but nothing to complain about. Operation runs fairly smoothly - three stations to order from. First you place your order at station 1 .... Pick your toppings at station 2 and then pay at station 3. No issues. Plenty of seating - but we were here during the summer when college was out. Came in for dinner and was surprised by the cute Ombiance and welcoming atmosphere. The employees were great, also very kind, and very attentive and super nice. I got the ham and cheese, which was delicious with a up of broccoli soup, which was also yummy. My Son. got a tuna and cheese sandwich with lettuce. He loved it ! My daughter got a barbecue chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese she absolutely loved it. My husband got the meatball sub. He said that it was really good. The bread was super soft and very delicious and fresh. We also got a shake to try it was orange cream, and it was great, just a suttle orange flavor with a cute cookie on top that was super yummy too they should sell them by the bag. I used to be a ride or die for this place, but then they got rid of all the people who are actually good at the job. The last three times I've ordered there something has always been wrong and I'm just done with it now. So far they have missed some of the toppings (my order is literally mayo, lettuce, tomato, and hot peppers), gotten the wrong size bread (just got a skinny) or didn't put chips in the bag when I ordered them. Very Disappointed: Use the link on the email they sent me it and it said BOGO and it charged my credit card for 2 sandwiches. I talked to the manager and he said I call call the credit card company but there was nothing he could do? I told he could credit card for one of the sandwiches, but since it was ordered on line he could not. This is the best sub shop experience, clean, friendly, and relaxed urban eatery stuck between the city library and campus with the best Subway, Panera, and Wendy's, a tad of McAllisters too. Menu isn't too big or offering anything all original (like that overly posh CoreLife) but it is familiar and gives fun additions few places offer like Buffalo Chicken and blue cheese. The app is smart - integrating gift cards and mobile payments. Starbucks leads mobile ordering (annoyingly! wish Starbucks would stop hiding hoards of cash off shore to avoid taxes!) and great to see others catching up. Our group of 5 was treated well and did subs and some various small dishes. I had a salad with extra Franks cuz some green and good kick goes a long way for me! The manager was super cool with my dumb gift card not wanting to work (felt bad about that!! guess older gift cards should be left alone). My Uptown salad came out like the photos look! Staff was nice and all was going well until the lady preparing my food decided it would be a good idea to talk about her being a lesbian and having a woman "spit in her mouth" to her co workers. Im not homophobic by any means but her remarks made me feel extremely uncomfortable and ruined my appetite. And for that reason i will not return to this location. Think before you speak. Surprised to see I haven't given Potbelly's a review given how often I come here, but that's going to change! A real step up from the other nearby sandwich locations, I'm a big fan of the Mediterranean sandwich, especially for those avoiding meat. I hadn't had a hummus sandwich before but now I find myself trying to replicate it at home as well. I also need to credit Potbelly's with introducing me to zapps chips which has become one of my favorites, especially the slightly sweet voodoo chips! I am a very frequent customer here. I always enjoy my food and want to come back. My go to is the chicken salad sandwich with extra mayo. It is very tasty and easy if you need a quick lunch. It's not super fancy or classy, it's just quick and easy. The employees are very nice. The manager is almost always in the trenches helping out the staff.
