    Enchiladas suck
    Nessa D.

I great place to visit for coronary heart disease! I really had high hopes based off the reviews, sadly I was disappointed by the flavors and excessive amount of grease and cheese. Keep in mind I have had plenty of Tex Mex food in California, Arizona, and Texas... this place does not measure up. I ordered the number 3 combo (two tacos and two enchiladas) and it was just horrible. The rice and beans were not cooked from scratch, there were no veggies (no lettuce for shucks sakes!), they did the thing I absolutely hate the most...using the same meats and incorporating it by adding it into a separate dish). The enchiladas had zero sauce inside and the chicken was dry and flavorless. Excessive amounts of an all items but the dry rice. I like cheese but the cheese was over kill. What can I say? I really did try to like the food here. I would not recommend this place.

Best birria tacos and quesadillas in town! Must try! I've had it a handful of times and it's never disappointed me. Served as a platter - you can choose a variety of assortment that comes with rice and beans. I tried the birria tacos, birria quesadillas and pork belly tacos. The birria quesadillas are my favorite! The birria meat is soft, tender and so flavorful. The rice is flurry and full of flavor & I'm not typically a fan of beans but these were the perfect compliments the meal. It also comes with birria dipping sauce and hot sauce.

If you haven't tried Birria tacos yet, this is the place to start! ARod's is located in the Global Market and Food Hall, bringing diversity to the food court. His Birria platters are loaded and flavorful! Pros: Several different combos are offered and served family style. The platters come with house made consume, salsa (which is mild), rice, beans and soda. Tacos and quesadillas have a nice smoky flavor, great texture/crunch! They're super filling, too. I have only tried the brisket and pork belly tacos/quesadillas...looking forward to the steak and shrimp! Cons: They can sell out, so make sure to call early and/or pre-order! Would love to see more spicy options. Check them out!!!

Service was amazing, the food came in 10 mins. The food was freshly made because i heard the fryers in the back. The tacos and enchiladas were GOOD. The pork belly was a high quality cut! I would definitely come back to try the other things in the menu. 5/5!

Don't miss this must try hidden gem (Arod's Tex Mex & American Grill) if you are near East Towne mall in Madison, WI. It is located inside the Global Food Market Food Court nearby bringing food diversity to a mostly Asian cuisine themed Food court. This continues to be 1 of my favorite place for delicious Birria tacos & Tex Mex when those cravings hit leaving me super satisfied! :) Their menu is super diverse with a lot of options for different combinations. Some of their items sell out quickly so it maybe a good idea to call early in the day & place an order! You must try their delicious beef brisket Birria tacos which is super flavorful with juicy beef brisket that you dip in the delicious jam packed flavorful beef Birria consume. Some menu items come with a delicious unique salsa which I absolutely love! They mostly offer delicious Tex Mex tacos, quesadillas, burritos, & enchiladas with choices of ground beef, chicken, pork, & their amazing beef brisket but also offer unique flavorful Tex Mex sandwiches & fries whic are very filling & satisfying! They also have a few low carb menu items such as keto nachos made with pork rinds and low carb quesadillas which is great when you are watching your carb count!!! If you got a family to feed, they their affordable platters and family packs. Depending on what you order not everything comes with rice & beans, condiments such salsa/sour cream, or Birria sauce so you may have to pay extra for certain condiments. I love their Birria sauce so much, I just pay the extra money for an extra 4 oz cup! My husband makes fun of me for trying to drink the Birria sauce lol!!

Always a go to taco stop that will satisfy. Flavor is on point with both the taco and consome. I have eaten this both freshly made and delivered as well. Both will not disappoint.

The chimichanga with a couple specks of cilantro and no cheese sauce.

I read some really positive reviews about this place, and the owner's story is a compelling one. I really wanted to love it. My wife and I were at the World Market food court, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to give Arod's a try. This is at a food court, so I wasn't expecting sit-down ambiance or fancy presentations, nor do I think it would be fair to judge them on those criteria. Oh, but the food . I ordered a brisket chimichanga (brisket and pork belly are supposed to be their specialties), along with chips and salsa. The chimi' is supposed to have beans, rice, cheese, cheese sauce, onion, cilantro and sour cream and hot sauce on the side. The chips were supposed to be fresh fried with a "dusting" of special seasoning and served with homemade salsa. The chimi was huge, and loaded with brisket, beans rice and cheese. But there was no cheese sauce that I could see, and the onion and cilantro were undetectable. The hot sauce was good, with a medium amount of heat. The chips and salsa were an absolute disaster. The chips were NOT freshly made, they tasted day-old. Only a couple had any crunch to speak of. And the dusting of seasoning were concentrated on about four of the very thick and heavy chips. The salsa was terrible. It tasted like someone just blitzed some under-ripe tomatoes in a blender. I couldn't taste any onion, seasoning, salt, or anything else in it. I am neither Texan or Mexican, and my homemade salsa runs circles around what they call salsa. I was really looking forward to trying this place. So it pains me deeply to leave such a negative review.

I had Arod's for the first time last week and the service was great. I wanted to try Birria tacos but most places do the traditional way and Arod's offered chicken and shrimp birria so I was able to try it without having to worry that it would be beef or pork and was pleasantly surprised how good they were I will definitely go back to get more the tacos was served with rice and beans and salsa the price was reasonable. Definitely worth it

Yummm! Great food and even better owner and service!!! Super fresh chips and perfect flavors! A little kick but not burn your face hot! It's a great place and I'm glad it so close by my house!

Amazing flavors! Arod was very informative with any questions about his menu and what the food entails. The Burris dip sauce is amazing, not bland like other meat places we've tried before. Me and my husband are taco-finatics. We travel a lot and always try local taco joints. This is definitely one of our favorite go-to spot.

Pure fire! Sooooo good!!! ARod is a cool guy, very personable and welcoming, makes the food so much more enjoyable. A little on the pricey side, but I'd pay for it over and over again because those beef brisket fat and meaty tacos are completely worth the cash!

Had the coleslaw and mac & cheese...and that was not bad at all!Had a little bit more mayo than expected with a tad of vinegar, which was OK. Overall, it was a very good lunch/dinner. We had a good time here, but the food left me a bit disappointed…read more We were warmly welcomed, seated right away, service was great. I opted for a couple tacos, chicken and chorizo. I love chorizo. So much. And I was excited about that one the most. But I was surprised when it came...it was certainly sausage-y. But it tasted....sweet? Like breakfast sausage. Or Cincinnati-style/Skyline chili. Not Mexican food, street taco chorizo. With the traditional toppings (and the Wisconsin-style taco toppings) the flavor, which I didn't like anyway, became actively bad. I can only assume this is they type of chorizo they order, but it was so bad on my taste buds. The chicken was ok, but the strangeness of the other taco made it entirely unmemorable. We got some adult beverages which were very tasty, and for an upcharge I got some sour cream that I used to make the rest of my plate in to a bit of a meal-filler because I couldn't finish that taco... So overall, it was fine. But I don't know if I would choose to come back here, but I am sure I could find something else on the menu to get me through.

This has always been one of my fav restaurants but I haven't gone recently and have never been to this location. Their chips are the best ever. We of course started with chips and salsa. I thought their salsa was just ok but the chips were incredible as always. I had my go-to order, chicken quesadillas. Not as good as they have been in the past. When we got there, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes past the pickup time just to get our food. I understand it was Cinco de Mayo and things get busy but that's exactly why it's frustrating. If you know it's going to be that chaotic, why accept online orders without being prepared to handle them? It felt disorganized and poorly managed. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the wait. It was underwhelming at best. Once they opened the Hilldale location, it became a regular place for me to grab lunch from due to proximity to my office. The Verona location is about the same size as the Hilldale location was, and it's definitely got a cute vibe. When I stopped in a few weeks ago, I ordered my old tried and true - the chicken quesadilla. This used to be my favorite quesadilla around, because cubed meat disgusts me, and Pasqual's is one of the few places I've ever found that uses pulled chicken. The flavor just wasn't what I remembered, it was rather bland, despite the peppers and the hot salsa. The rice was pretty dry, and also lacked flavor. The chips are still fire though - that seasoning dust on them just really kicks it up a notch! Huge fan of those, and I'm glad you can buy them in the store.
