Before I tried anything, I learned that they source ingredients locally including the strawberries and cream from local farms. I was also really pleased to learn that they minimized added sugars which is another big win in my book. On to the product itself -- I tried both the Banana Pudding and Strawberry Cheesecake bars. They were fantastic. Truly they tasted fresh and had just the right amount of sweetness. I greatly thank the Wich Cream team for coming out to our neighborhood. From the feedback I heard, everyone who tried their ice cream was a fan.

So let me preface this by saying I am not a fan of traditional ice cream sandwiches but these ice…read morecream sandwiches are awesome because they are unique. They are handmade in North Charleston and sold at several restaurants around the low country. The first time I ever tried one was from a food cart at the Charleston farmers market and I've been hooked ever since! They have different seasonal flavors because all of their ingredients are locally sourced from the milk to the berries. My favorite I have ever tried is their strawberry though a tried and true is the chocolate, it is so creamy! The texture of the sandwiches are unique and what keeps bringing me back over and over. The sandwich part is almost a little gritty but still soft and chewy, almost as if it were made from almond meal though it is not. This past sandwich I got was blueberry Cheri and though good it was not as flavorful as others I've had. I could see where they were going by adding chamomile but it just wasn't enough. I would recommend a different flavor to try, though if they were to have the sandwich part lemon flavored with blueberry ice cream it would be amazing! Overall if you see a restaurant or shop selling these pick one up. Though they are a bit pricy at $4-5 they are totally worth it!

The line moved quickly, nonetheless. The team was friendly and let me take my time ordering. The cake slices are just as delicious as they are giant. I had the red velvet and my grandparents got carrot cake. Everyone was happy. The cake was fresh, moist and flavorful. The red velvet didn't have much chocolate, but it was still great. I prefer a pretty chocolate dense red velvet but this was delivered well.

Luckily, we were able to be seated immediately but it was very close quarters with surrounding tables. The menu is vast with different dessert options. If you want to know what cakes are available, you should check out the display stand right when you enter. Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! Bringing my husband back for a date night soon!
