They give you several protein options to top it with so you can customize your experience. We decided on the "Mac Daddy" size and topped it with fried chicken and bacon bits. This combo was so delicious. The bacon was crispy and added a wonderful texture and saltiness while the chicken was fried beautifully. Each bite was tender and juicy with creamy Mac n cheese and we loved every bite. The service was quick and friendly as well which helps in a crowded stadium with hungry fans. I've aaaaalways been a fan of Mac Daddy so when I found out they were in my neighborhood last night I cancelled my dinner plans in lieu of mac and cheese. When I arrived they already had the social distancing protocol in place with a sanitizing station and everyone standing in an orderly line six feet apart. There was just one guy holding it down in the truck and did a pretty good job of keeping it moving. I do wish they had a contactless payment or order in advance like I've seen from some others, but everyone is trying to pull things together as best they can. Collectively, I'm sure I've had all the toppings by now but last night I had a new combination by combining buffalo chicken and jalapenos. I love how they finely chopped up the jalapenos so you could get some in every bite. It was cheesy, spicy, and oh so good I was scraping the bowl. The oversized with toppings was more than enough for dinner and I was stuffed by the end. It is a pricey bowl of mac but I know they're using a ton of cheese to make it so tasty. This was the first mac and cheese I couldn't even eat It was a disappointment because I used to love Crave, but this didn't taste nearly as good as I remember. I get this Mac n Cheese anytime I am around the truck, or anytime we're in Mount Pleasant and go to Crave. It's one of the best around. Anyone who tells you otherwise has a cheese log wedged somewhere and should get that removed before writing future reviews. You have a choice of toppings to go on your mac if you prefer, but I like mine plain with shredded Parmesan on top. If I'm going to put a meat on there, it's usually pulled pork. On this occasion, the food truck was over in Shadowmoss, and I ordered four cups of cheesy greatness for the family. The guy in the truck was quick, efficient, and handled everything with care. There's usually a line for this truck, so be prepared to get there early or wait a little bit, but I promise you, it's worth it. read more

The only reason this little slice of heaven deserves less than 5 stars is because this is the most expensive Mac on the planet...but that being said it is also the best Mac on the planet. I had Mac Daddy for the first time last night over at Volvo Car Stadium. I've had Crave's mac and cheese before (take out) and am a big fan. I ordered the special, a macadilla ($4) with some pulled pork on it ($3). For $7, I got a great deal. It was cheaper than the pulled pork tacos! The people working were super friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the wait. I get they are making it fresh for me on the grill top, but it took almost 15 minutes which made me sad. Was at a concert at Volvo stadium and I wanted something to eat other than typical stadium food (i.e.--hot dog, nachos, Etc.) It was mid concert and this was the only place with a line--so I figured it must be good. They have 3 sizes of Mac N Cheese: the smallest is good for going at it solo, medium is good to share, and large is an entire pound of Mac N Cheese! I ordered the small, but ended up getting a medium on the house due to my wait (maybe 10-15 min..). We go to 2nd Sunday almost every time just for Mac Daddy. The food is always excellent. I recommend the Mac and cheese with pulled pork on top. We also saw Mac Daddy at the Ellie Goulding concert. This is one of my favorite food trucks in the area! They are always at a ton of events in town so it's always a nice surprise when I find this one. When you feel like some loaded mac, the pulled pork is always great! The traditional mac is just as good but you can always go for the fried chicken mac or bacon mac. Mac Daddy is a food truck affiliated with Crave Kitchen and can be found at different events throughout Charleston.
