We were looking for a quick coffee and bread kind of snack and remembered going to this place years ago. Ordered iced coffees which were just ok; bread with cheese and bread pudding. Bread was dry and seemed stale; bread pudding was too dense, dry and taste wasn't good so didn't enjoy these. Staff was nice though.

    Bunuelo - Colombian Donut

Interesting little cafe in Elmhurst. One morning, I was really missing the buñuelo and some good Colombian coffee. I was lucky to get the buñuelo fresh and hot. It was really fluffy on the inside and a very good pasty to go with my coffee. I must warn that it is very, very oily for those who mind. Colombian Coffee, the hot version is much better than the iced version. It is strong but the taste is not as bold as other Colombian coffee that I had before. Overall, a nice neighborhood cafe to visit once in a while.

Aroma de Cafe recently opened up at the corner street, across from Duane Reade. Since I walk my dog around the block every single day, I saw them during construction, and when it was finally open, I knew I had to pop in. It's a tiny establishment and very clean. There is a glass case of baked breads, some with guava and cheese (get the one with the flaky pastry, sooo good). I always have to ask the ladies behind the counter what is in all of them because some of it is just bread, but I like the ones that are filled with stuff - I've been spoiled by Asian bakeries. They also had a variety of empanadas - chicken and potato, beef, and Hawaiian. The Hawaiian was good but lacked the filling, beef was ok and had medium filling, and the chicken and potato was filled and tasted pretty good. If they filled up the empanadas and added a bit more flavor, they'd be amazing. I also got some sort of rib and blood sausage and something else, all came with a choice of either a potato or arepa. My friend got a meat plate which was plentiful. He liked it, but I thought some of the meat was a bit dry. It came with plaintain, which was good, and salad. Since they just opened and I've only been here once, I'm betting they're still getting things worked out in terms of the menu. What they did tell us was that they are known for their soups. Every day they have a special (that day was oxtail soup), but they ran out by the time we arrived, so I'm planning to go back and try the soups and get more guava/cheese bread. The blood sausage wasn't bad either. Hopefully they'll have an English menu or sign on their door soon. I don't like not knowing my options and what they consist of.

This place is clean and decirated with the typucal traditional Colombian decor. That said, they are over priced and you have to wait for them to come over and wait on you. The three times I have been here, I have cone in with an open mind and desperately wanting to like since we have very few latin foid places on Broadway ( think there only 2 left). The 3 times, the employees were too busy talking to each other, attending only friends and oblivious to what was being sold! The empanadas you can get better in Jackson Heights or Corona, a couple if blocks over. The disrespect, who needs it....bye Felicia!!

The service is very friendly, the food is fresh and hot. We like to visit this place when we are in Elmhurst visiting our son.

Back to breakfast couple times, the empanadas skin taste so much better softer and crispy, honestly very nice place for breakfast.

Really good American breakfast - arepa de queso was good too. American breakfast: eggs, home fries, bacon, toast.

Seemed like a nice, place but the empanadas they sold me were dry and stale. I expected better. The cakes and bread might be tastier.

The mafadine pasta was a good pick adorned with springy components like pea leaves and a compelling Parmesan vibe. Maybe I like vegetables more than I thought? The steelhead carpaccio special was a stunner. Based on my 1.5 bites of monkfish I'd also endorse that. This may be more of a "DVD extra" but when I originally looked up the QB many of the top-ranked items were breakfasts and some were p-zza (reverse SEO). Based only on lower-left menu placement I would say don't go that route and that specials are a good bet. Again this is only based on 1.5 bites but the eggplant parm special had great sauce. I'm undecided on the watermelon granita which wasn't all that watermelony but spicy dessert was different. I was surprised by how much I liked the edamame, since you can get that everywhere, but the Japanese 7-spice add an intriguing citrus kick.

My husband chose The Queensboro to celebrate his birthday with a brunch alongside my grandparents,…read moreand it felt like a great chance to revisit a spot we'd previously enjoyed for lunch and dinner. Food: 3.5/5 We made it a point to try a range of brunch options. My grandfather ordered the sweet potato and chorizo hash, I went with the two-egg combo with pork sausage (eggs over easy), and my husband chose the Moroccan eggs. Overall, the food was good and flavorful, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit more nuance and influence from Spanish or Mexican flavors. That said, as someone who leans more toward classic American diner-style brunch, it didn't fully hit that nostalgic spot for me. It's not that anything was bad--it just wasn't the most memorable brunch I've had. Still, it was nice to explore a different side of their menu beyond the burgers, fries, and pasta we'd tried before. Service: 4/5 The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, they do rely on a QR code-style menu, which can be a bit of a learning curve--especially for those who prefer a more traditional ordering experience. During the brunch rush, things definitely got busy and a bit overwhelmed, so service slowed down slightly. One tip: if you already know what you want, it's best to order everything upfront to avoid delays. Vibe: 3.5/5 Like many New York spots, space is tight. Even as a party of four, we were seated at a small square table, which could be challenging if you have strollers or extra belongings. That said, the space still feels cozy and neighborhood-friendly--great for a casual brunch, just not the most spacious. All in all, It's a solid neighborhood brunch spot with interesting, flavor-forward dishes and kind service. I wouldn't call it my top brunch destination, but I'd come back if I were in the area--especially if I was craving something a little different from the usual diner fare.
