    Baked Chicken Empanada

Delicious Bakery in the area! I tried their Baked Chicken Empanada and it was so good. The chicken inside is so tender and juicy. The ladies inside were also super nice. I want to come back and try more of their baked goods! Highly recommend grabbing a bite from here.

Schmackin empanadas. My aunt brought these home while running errands and I gotta say, I'm impressed. The empanadas don't skimp out on the filling and the hot sauce on the side is incredibly flavorful with a bit of bite without being overwhelmingly spicy. Just how I like it. Can't speak to service or ambiance of the store since I wasn't there but what I ate from the place was great.

I love going to different Colombian bakeries! I've only gone here to pickup something with a friend but never got to eat until yesterday. I decided to get my go to's: Beef empanada, chorizo with potato and a Jugo de lulo. Even though its summer I still got an Avena homemade and warmed up in the microwave. It tasted so good and my mother got beef empanadas, arepa de choclo with cheese and coffee. I loved the food. Wasn't dry, over cooked or undercooked! Next time I will def. try their bread! Colombian bakeries have the best bread well in my opinion! The cashier was attentive and patient and it was quiet in there which helped me enjoy my brunch even more!

Rico Pan Bakery, a local favorite in Woodside, was introduced to me by my Colombian friend. This bakery is extremely popular in the Latin and Colombian community for good reason. All their baked goods are freshly prepared each day. I was particularly impressed by their buñuelos, which are magical cheese-based donuts with a crunchy exterior and a soft, pillowy, angel food cake-like interior, with just a hint of sweetness. Their empanadas and salsa are also excellent. If you're a bread lover, you have to try their buñuelos--an unforgettable treat. Highly recommend this tiny gem!

Best Colombian bakery! Plenty of good, and a few great ones in Queens, but this is the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfectly baked. The pan de bono was the perfect density and not dry at all like many places. Service was quick and kind, and the bakery was extremely clean.

Patient staff. You buy the goods and they write on a small piece of paper how much it is. You pay at the cashier. Their baked empanadas are fantastic. It's more like a flaky texture. They have spinach and cheese and beef with egg and maybe chicken? I don't remember. A bit on the pricey side as far as empanadas go but they are well portioned on the inside. The tres leches cake is great too. Lots of milk on the bed of the bake. Best way to describe it is like a saturation of a chinese sponge cake. The creme tasted almost we and not too sweet in an overall taste. Nice and cinammonny. I still prefer the one at the canateles on 78th and Roosevelt I think it is but this is good too for a desert. Balvin was here once in a food tour with action bronsen here I believe as well.

The arepas de choclo con queso have a unique taste which makes it better than other bakeries and their service is great.

Latino Bites is a small, no-frills Colombian eatery that's got a straight-forward menu, good service and AMAZING food. I've only had Colombian food a few times and I was happy to try something new - the menu has photos and descriptions for all different options. My friend'a husband is Colombian so she was very familiar with the menu. The Colombian burgers looked out of this world - also they are huge. BOMBASTIC I would say. But we both went with an Arepa each - I had the Chicken Arepa and my friend had the Chorizo Arepa. So so so good!! When the arepa first comes out, it looks small but once you start eating it, you realize the amount of chicken and the sauces on the arepa makes it very substantial and filling. Served with a little bit of salsa and a little lettuce on the side, it was very satisfying. They also have some juices, sodas, and other food options like tacos, pizza and of course, as mentioned, the burgers! Since I tried to "be good," it will have to possibly be a next-time treat! 9/10 spot; so good that they even have a good truck across the street.

Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
