    two cups of cold drinks

I watched the barista make my drink and I felt sort of turned off from it. The matcha is created by mixing sweetener with matcha powder then poured into milk. This is very similar to Starbucks' recipe except they would mix the milk and the matcha together a bit more. The turmeric latte was what surprised me. First, the barista filled the cup 3/4 way with tap water then separately mixed a tiny bit of pressed juice with lemon juice, then poured this mixture in the cup. The cup wasn't even close to full and it tasted very bland. I prefer aromas warm espresso drinks over these cold drinks.

I love this coffee shop. The aroma coffee is my go to drink - best mocha around. Get them to stir up the chocolate before finishing the drink! Saves you a ton of work. Lots of parking. Sandwiches are galore - a serving is half a sandwich by the way :) their cheese danish is sweet, creamy and so good. Steak and egg sandwich has slices of shaved beef, a friend egg, tomato and onions. The bread is soft and flavourful. They sell them in half sandwich and full sandwiches. Prices are based on half FYI. Their breakfast hash comes with two sunny side eggs on a slice of bread, sweet potato and mushrooms on top of a bed of salad: One of my fave coffee shops! Service is always fantastic!

I used to love going to Aroma. But today basically ended that relationship. Especially at this location. The people are nice. For the most part. The manager can be quite rude during rush hour so I avoid going at that time. As with most franchises, you get what you get and you don't get upset. I've been going here like clock work for weeks and the recent couple of times, I've notice my overly expensive drink isn't even filled half way. It started with my hot drinks. Today was the last straw. I ordered a ginger and Tumeric tea and the bs I for was just flat out disrespectful. The dude who gave it to me clearly looked at me like I was about to say something. But me being the quiet in a rush kinda person I didn't even say anything. So foolish I know . Anyways, my drink was half empty like it's already been drank AND the half that was in the cup was half ice! Like how. I was just so dumb founded. And the crazy part is it's always the same dude who makes me drinks after 4:30.

I decided to stop by this location to catch up with a friend and I was pretty disappointed. We ordered two lattes and I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. While I was waiting by the pick up counter I saw a frantic worker running around and knocking down a bowl of salad that they were going to serve. I saw her pick up the salad with her bare hands and put it back into the bowl as if nothing happened. She was also going back and forth from the cash register. My stomach dropped - what's happened to this place? It wasn't that clean and there were fruit flies everywhere. The sandwich was really mediocre and lattes were cold. They would blast your name on speakers when your order was ready. Which became distracting to have a conversation as a name would be yelled out every second. I don't see myself coming back here to say the least.

Nice atmosphere, especially on weekday mornings. A covid vaccine confirmation is required for indoor seating, but not for outdoor seating. I had the Portobello personal sandwich. Very balanced balanced taste from the sprouts, sun dried tomatoes, cheese and mushroom. The bread could be improved, though. it was hard on the crust and too soft in the center, as it felt like the fillings were going to fall through. I would prefer a denser bread, but otherwise everything was great. Cappuccino and croissant were great as well.

I love the set up of Aroma Expresso Bar. Those nice booth sofa seating not only good to sit with your friends and sipping coffee but great for reading a book (that's what I did) But the only thing is you won't have the view of the TV. The coffee here is A-OK. Strong roast and love the chocolate on the side. If they would have change that to 50% dark chocolate. Love the mug, thick and heavy. BTW, that guy Wayne saw in June, was still there on his Apple Laptop the hour I were there with his serious face... maybe he is reading Yelper's review of his competitors?? The late hours makes Aroma Espresso a great choice to hang out late if you have no where to go with your friends or after having wings or fro yo across the plaza.

Oxford definition of what a latte is = legal problems for aroma
    Parmida K.

I got the iced hazelnut latte. It's $6. I mean it tastes nice for a 'milk' drink but I'm not sure how they're legally getting away with calling this a 'latte' when there's no coffee in it. You have to pay for coffee separately. Many of their 'lattes' are made this way including their matcha. Unappealing interior. ‍

Hey a generous helping of Romaine lettuce that you can inhale in your $5.00 sandwich!

Today we decided to try the Aroma at Bathurst & Rutherford. The place was so busy that the lines of folks splintered off almost out the door. I paid about $30.00 for a few sandwiches and a teeny croissant that was charged $2.45. I can say with certainty that the place charges the more folks come to spend. The egg salad got rave reviews, but watch out for the giant portion of crunchy water on the breakfast sandwich . Bring loads of cash and your cell phone to make sure people around you look at you, you lucky rich folks north of hwy 7!!

We probably waited less than five minutes, which was awesome considering that they had a lot of other orders ringing up. It had chunks of mango, mango puree, cheesecake, and whipped cream. It was pretty enjoyable, but I think it would've been even better if I added in some mochi. The menu says it's layered with condensed milk, but the mango puree overpowered it a bit. It would be a nice touch if they could drizzle some condensed milk at the top, so that sweetness hits off the bat (at least in my opinion). Customer service was great, they were fast, respectful, and knew how to keep the line moving.

The coffee shop was visibly dirty, with stained countertops, crumbs, and a dirty rag left in the work area. The employees appeared unprofessional and careless about the cleanliness, showing no attention to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. I also ordered a matcha, which was poorly prepared and had an unpleasant, almost fried-fish taste. I've visited the Distillery District location, and the difference is huge. That location is clean, the staff are professional, and everything looks fresh and well maintained. This location (200 Apple Mill Road) definitely needs improvement in cleanliness, service, and drink preparation. I hope management takes these issues seriously because the quality of the experience is nowhere near what I have experienced at other locations.

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)

My cousin and I arrived shortly after opening on New Year's Eve. The cafe has a small interior with minimal seating, mostly bench seating along the wall with small round coffee tables. Even though there was only one barista working that morning, she was efficient at taking orders and making drinks despite several orders happening at once. We did not feel like we were waiting very long. I ordered a pour-over with the Finca El Paraiso Peach Colombian beans, which use a thermal shock washed process. That was something I had not heard of before. The tasting notes listed nectarine, tropical fruit, and caramel, and it was recommended since I was looking for something more out of the ordinary. I enjoyed the wilder flavor profile, but it was hard to fully appreciate because the coffee tasted overly diluted. The barista mentioned she used a 15g to 250g bean-to-water ratio, which is higher than how I normally enjoy my pour-overs. My cousin ordered a flat white with whole milk that was very creamy with strong espresso notes. We also ordered a matcha latte for my other cousin, which was apparently too creamy. Overall, the beans themselves were good, but the pour-over leaned watery for my personal preference. The bag of beans used for the pour-over was priced at $32, which is only a bit more than double the cost of the pour-over itself. In hindsight, I felt slightly ripped off and should have just bought the beans instead.
