Came to hit some balls in Koreatown and Aroma was a great place to do it! Parking is validated, which is awesome for K-town standards. The balls are slightly on the pricier side, but for downtown golfing - it checks out. They don't rush you in terms of time at all. Lots of bays and several floors. It's fun to see the balls get collected in the parking lot. Restrooms on every floor - they're pretty large but not super clean. If I'm ever in the area and looking for something to do, I wouldn't mind coming back here. But for the price and distance from where I live, this wouldn't be my first choice either. I think this place is great but not perfect. I went during lunch and it wasn't busy at all. I'm sure it's different during peak hours. Parking was easy and I was able to get validated. There aren't many driving ranges nearby so I'm not deducting any of my experience and ratings for the the cost of the balls. It is a bit pricier than any other driving ranges I've been too but that's just a factor and opinion that will vary from everyone you meet. For me, the fact that I don't have to wait in line to fill my own bucket and carry them while searching for an open bay is a win. And the ball is teed up automatically for you which is awesome! Front desk staff were super helpful and nice. The charging and plans for the balls is a little tricky but they help clarify what to get. Why I can't rate this a 5 star place. The matts were a bit worn but that's not really an issue. My only negative experience for me is that there was only one elevator. There's 2 sets of stairs but one doesn't lead to the 1st floor parking. Unique golf range, one of its kind in so many ways The ball retrieval system is through a net that because conveyor belts it back into the building and the automatic ball on the tee system looks like giant dryer hoses. To add to that, the net system is over the garage so you are basically hitting golf balls over parked cars It's super sunny and in the middle of Ktown so you have nice city ambiance going on. They do have players card/reload cards that you can buy more to save more deals they even have banquet halls here for special events along with massage and spa on the lower levels. They have a putting green on the top floor but it's no bigger than a dog pee turf area you see at apartment complexes probably no bigger than 10 x 10 feet. As for the facility - super clean well kept a bit more of a older classic feel to it. Not really much to say, but just wanted to point out that the website is currently incorrect. They DO offer club rentals for $7 or 8 each. I called ahead of time and they said 9-6PM Mondays-Saturday I believe. So don't let your lack of clubs stop you from trying it out. You have to leave an ID with them, but if the Pro Shop closes (the one you rent from), then they'll give your ID to the lobby/front desk. We finished right around 6:03PM and the pro shop was already closed but they did have my ID. read more

I'm not sure this would be 5* place if it were my regular range, but as a tourist looking to kill a couple of hours before heading to LAX (and with clubs in the trunk of my rental), it was a very unique and fun thing to do. I got lessons from Pro Jeewoo Won at the Aroma Golf Academy. He's a certified KPGA pro which is hard to find in LA! He used to play professionally in Korea so I introduced him to my mom friends whose kids compete in tournaments and I've heard nothing but good things! I've been playing golf for over 15 years and his use of video swing analysis really helped me improve my swing and increase my distance. He speaks fluent Korean but his English isn't that great. My Korean mom friends want their kids to learn more Korean so it works out for them! Highly recommend Jeewoo if you want to improve your game of golf! read more

is great to have a driving range right in the heart of koreatown. The closest course is almost 30 minutes from my house but I can walk over here. Obviously, this is a driving range and not a full golf course. That being said, it is probably one of the best "contained" driving ranges in LA. There is another down on Olympic and the roof is maybe half as high as this place. Obviously being on the third floor (bottom) you have the most freedom to track how your drive would actually fly, but tonight I am playing up on the sixth floor (top) and there is still enough space that I can drive the entire length without hitting the top. I believe it is either 150 or 200 yards to the target. This is different than at a range in that you load money on a card (you can pay per ball or buy 120 for $20). The third and fourth floors charge .18 per ball and the fifth and sixth charge .17 per ball They are open until 11 and validate parking in the garage. There are a few snack and drink machines, plus a snack shack (but I have never seen it open...) If you live in the area you cant beat it for driving practice and they even have a SMALL putting green The major downside is the yard markers are not clear and it is much shorter than at a course. I also really like that this place is open late so I can come after a long work day or after squeezing in a workout after work. To start hitting, you have to go to the office on the third floor (walk across the mini sky bridge from the golf range), and you have different purchase options for balls that you can also find online. Once you reserve a spot on a desired floor, they'll give you a receipt and that's what you give for parking validation when you exit the garage. Not exactly my favorite golf range though because of a reason very specific to me and that's the older Korean folks I'll overhear criticize their kids/partners or scoff at others nearby and their golf swings which triggers childhood trauma. This was my first experience here at this cool driving range. However, it could have started better. We got lockout and stuck on the roof after getting directions to the top floor driving range. (See photo)The elevator to the top was out of service, so we took the other elevator to the 5th floor and the wrong stairwell to the 6th floor, leading us to the roof. At this point, we are dying laughing. I called security twice (the number on the door) he didn't answer. I thought you got to be kidding me. Then I called the receptionist laughing. He couldn't believe his ears. The security guard eventually shows up - waving his hands and, in his broken English - what are you doing on the roof? He didn't understand English either and seemed pretty pissed off. I was doing my best to explain what happened. Anyhow we got to our spot and started hitting balls. The range is great - you can see over Los Angeles from the top floor. Great customer service- the front desk staff is very polite. It's clean and has good prices. And it was relatively quiet. I really want to love this urban driving range above a parking lot, but I don't . It's taken from concepts straight from Korea. Actually it is owned by Koreans. $14 for 140 balls, $20 for 190 balls 3 levels. Top floor is smoking. When you buy your range balls, you pick a space like picking a seat at the movie theater. It isn't the longest range, but it could make up for it with targets. Unfortunately, there are really no targets to hit towards. I got bored easily. Anyway, here's my modified review, written in pre-pandemic times: Most buildings have rooftops, but here in Koreatown, savvy business owners have figured out you can make money off your otherwise lazy non-contributing rooftop by installing a giant, ugly, netted driving range. I respect this particular hustle, and Matt B. and I have been to Aroma a number of times to take lessons with Ilhee Lee, a retired LPGA golfer and friend of my parents who teaches there. Garage parking is easy, as is the check-in process. You buy card credits and get a spot assigned, then put your card in at your station to get the balls coming. I haven't been to many driving ranges, so don't know if that's how it always works, but it's a smooth-running system and the staff is polite and efficient. I'm fucking terrible at golf and stopped taking lessons after a couple months, but it's kind of fun to hit balls, and if you can get lessons with Ilhee, she is really nice and a wonderful teacher. Matt still goes, and he also goes to practice at the range on his own. I'd recommend the Aroma Golf Range if you're looking for a central L.A. location to practice your swing. I actually hit some balls here years ago. Daughter and wife went to a concert at the Greek Theater. I dropped them off and just by luck, drove right up to this place. Pretty neat, the parking lot is under the net, you see all the balls come trickling down, I spent a few hours here, and had a great time. At this golf range, the policies for cardholders seem to vary between employees and managers, and there appears to be a complete lack of customer service at this facility. I raised a concern about a mistake made by a staff member with the first manager, Page, who informed me it wasn't "her responsibility" since she wasn't the one assisting me during my golf card reload. I then approached another manager, Terri, to have the issue resolved, as I believe it falls under managerial responsibility. In response, Terri asked, "Should I fire the staff? Would you be satisfied if I fired the staff member who caused this issue?" This sounded like a threat to me, and it was said in front of two other staff members, which I found both unprofessional and disrespectful. They showed no willingness to resolve the issue and seemed more focused on shifting the blame onto the staff. If the manager role at this small business is too stressful or difficult to handle, I highly recommend considering another position. + The manager should be aware that such statements and actions could constitute employee mistreatment and unlawful termination under California law. Please ensure that any interactions or conversations with the staff are documented and recorded, as there may be differences in policies that you have not been informed about by management. I get golf lessons here with Alex Lee (he's a great instructor btw) which means I come to this golf range to practice. It's a great golf range and you have 4 floors to choose from (3, 4, 5, 6). Floors 3/4 are 11 cents per ball (after 4p) and floors 5/6 are 10 cents per ball (after 4p). They also have 120 balls for $12 (which you need to use in one visit) The only thing that bothers me about this place is definitely the service. All of the employees are not that friendly, they all seem like they don't want to be there. In fact, some are quite rude. The management needs to do a better job of training the employees here since it's bound to drive customers away. Overall, it's a great range though and they're open until 11p with plenty of parking. It's in a really convenient location on Wilshire/Serrano, the heart of koreatown. The entrance to the parking structure is on Serrano. I called to ask about club rental which they aren't doing 'because of Covid'--which in case Aroma did not get the memo, Covid is not transmitted this way. However, I digress. I called to inquire about coming in next week for a friend's birthday, but I couldn't even ask my questions because she literally answered my question about club rental then said, 'thank you' and hung up on me. How does one conduct business this way? I read the reviews discussing a rude front desk person and I am going to speculate that this is the same rude person I encountered on my call just now. The entrance is on S Serrano into the parking lot. Your receipt will give you 3 hours free. Don't lose it. You take your clubs to the third floor and there is dumbwaiter you can though them in if you don't want to schlep them in the elevator. Go in an pay 20$ for 120 balls and bay assignment. I love Annie S comment as it is true if you understand Korean you may here a bit of snark but then who doesn't snark about golf! You hit out onto a net to about 200 yards. The balls return and are dispensed on an adjustable tee in front of you. A display keeps track of your ball total. If you plan to come back often grab a card and pay by the ball as it is cheaper. You will still need to go for your parking receipt. For me it is about 15-20 minutes to get there off the Melrose exit from the Hollywood bowl. There is a Starbucks in the building. For me I am normally grooving in some part of my swing and to have the efficiency of rapid set up really makes this a plus. I corrected a bit of hook in my short irons and worked on some draws. I managed to get one ball up to the target which would be a mid 200 drive (with too much loft..). They have a pro you can book and they have swing analytics if you ask. I feel like this is the most efficient way for me to iron out swing issus and enjoy a swing when time is short. read more

I come to this range whenever I don't feel like driving to Monterey Park or Griffith. I don't mind the 150 yard max distance since you can still get a good feel for your ball flight and ultimately you come here to practice your ball striking. What hurts this range is when it's busy and you're stuck on levels 5 or god forbid 6. Your balls will hit the top of the net with every club within 100 yards leaving you to guess the last 2/3 of your ball flight. At those levels it is strictly just practicing ball striking. If you're looking for a driving range in the heart of the city with free 3 hour parking validation, this is the only spot. Prices are a bit steep/ball but considering their mats are always plush and generally the guests are not loud and annoying unlike other places, it's a fair price especially if you live in ktown. read more

Super random golfing range. It's on the top floor of a parking garage. Even though it's a parking garage, you can still get 2 hour validation. Service sucks. I walked up and down the floors to look for the counter to ask about the prices. It took a while to figure out which floor it was on. Workers were staring but no one seemed to care to help. The price is pretty pricey. It's $24 I think (with one club) for 200 balls. You pay for a card and you bring it to the floor you purchase it on. The higher the floor, the cheaper it is. To play, you enter the card in the system and the golf ball would automatically come up. Pretty cool concept in my opinion. You can give people a "TopGolf"-like experience, since the multiple levels makes things more interesting. 3. Validated parking! Any time you're in K-town, that's a huge plus. 4. Automated balls! Every time you hit a ball (or take it off) the tee, a new one pops up. This is good for those with bad backs, and it's just generally awesome because we don't get this feature in America often. Others: 1. Back of the range is limited; if you hit your longer clubs, expect to see them hit the back of the net. This is fine though since this range is literally in an urban jungle. 2. Top of the range is limited. If you want to see high flight paths, you really can't since your ball will hit the top. 3. $12 for ~111 balls last time I checked is slightly pricey, but for automated balls, I think it's worth it. It's about $10 for 100 balls, which could easily last you over an hour. I came here on Sunday morning and fell in love with this place. (right in the heart of K-Town) Balls automatically come up through some machine, so it's not the kind of place where you get a basket of balls and have to do all the work yourself.
