I read the poor reviews of tee time stacking. Which fortunately I didn't experience since we booked at 7AM and we only did the back 9. We were done by 9:30 despite a 3some infront of use playing just a little slow. That said my pros of this course is a 5! The greens and fairways are well maintained. I'd even say country club level maintenance. Parking was easy enough and the golf carts were in good condition. A drawback but nothing I'm rating it lower for, is the location is right next to LAX and hearing planes taking off and landing can be distracting. It can be loud but not a huge deal. I actually feel it makes this place more unique. The staff me were friendly and nice so another 5 stars for that. I think the only reason I'm not giving a 5 star review is that I can see it backing up. If there was a marshal driving around that would seriously help. It took 40 mins just to finish two holes. 4 groups standing in the second tee box waiting. The course itself has potential, but they stack the tee times every 8mins to maximize profits. Great golf course, has 1 par 5 that is really fun to see the airplanes come in and land, great for short game practice and hitting irons, but most of all you can get a tee time. Arrived at the range on a Saturday night around 6:30 and there were a lot of stalls open! I've never gone to this range before as I usually go to Rancho, but this might be my new go-to. Rancho is always crowded especially at peak times in the evening, but Westchester was so open and spacious! A large bucket is $20 and a medium is $15, which is pretty expensive, but hey, it's golf. There was an older male staff walking by to collect buckets, and he was super friendly and helpful as he gave my boyfriend some really good advice to fix his swing. The mats were okay -- they had two types green mats in one and 4 tee spots, definitely could be cleaned up or fixed up a bit. Definitely would come again - quiet, spacious, and a huge parking lot! Alright, alright... I have ran by this golf course more times than I can count and driven by it even more than that. It took having a friend move to SoCal for me to finally step foot onto the premises. So far, we've only gone to the driving range, twice. The first time, we got the $17 basket of balls and hit about 15 of them before it started getting dark and the lights did not go on. Apparently, something happened to the lights and the employees weren't sure if they'd go on that night. As time passed and the darkness got darker, it was evident the lights weren't turning on so we actually took the rest of our balls and returned a few days later on a Sunday morning to finish the basket. In my two experiences here, I found the driving range to be crowded and the service leaves a LOT to be desired. I am interested in taking lessons but petrified to ask the employees for more information because they're miserable and being in their presence seems to be a huge annoyance for them. I hope I can catch someone on a good day because this course is so close to my house, it would be the perfect spot for me to learn how to really play the game. read more

The bad is pace of play and it's because of the way they pack the course . Slightly overpriced for the track that is if it wasn't so packed it may be a value . The range is good has greens to able to practice seriously pin seeking but price of balls is out of control 120 large $22.00 Played today was met by Randy at the the starter desk ! He's definitely a New Yorker so if you run into him know this ! Once I started talking to him he turned out to be a nice guy and very helpful even though I guess he noticed some poacher on the chipping range , he excused himself to deal with that person, he came back and made sure he Got me on in a timely manner . Rude Staff, Double Standards, and Zero Accountability. Rating - negative 5 stars! And here's why: What started as a promising Memorial Day visit to Westchester Golf Course quickly turned sour. Parker, a new hire (less than a week on the job), greeted us kindly and helped my friend--new to golf--feel at ease. But that didn't last long. Enter Randy: aggressive, loud, and outright rude. He barked at us to move our clubs and snapped when we asked a simple question, ranting about us being "late on a holiday." Minutes later, a white father and son asked the exact same thing--Randy smiled and answered them politely. We called it out, and instead of owning up to it, Randy accused my friend of lying. During the confrontation, Parker, visibly uncomfortable, said he "didn't want to be involved." Can't blame him--Randy's behavior was a master-class in how not to treat customers. What a toxic example to set for new staff. We brought the issue to the attention of the manager, Chris, who was apologetic and assured us that steps would be taken to address the matter. And Randy's forced "sorry" came way too late. Westchester may have easy greens, but if you're not treated equally here, what's the point? Do better, American Golf Corp. Fun course....but they book tee times wayyy too close to each other. It is really annoying waiting anywhere from 15 to 30 mins in between each hole. Pace of play is terrible. I came to this course from out of town with no clubs. They told me that there was rentals however, there was not much to pick from. The clubhouse didn't even have a driver to use. The large bucket holds 110 balls or so, each of the three sub-par clubs at $2/each cost me $26. The range was huge, no issues getting a bay. They have a little snack shack in middle with beers, soda, Gatorade and some light food. You can also purchase balls here in the middle of the range. As was iterated in many other reviews, the staff was quite unpleasant and not very helpful. I walked 45 minutes from LAX while waiting on a 3 hour layover...to be 'greated' by staff. Why can't you be nice or personable? Not everyone sits at a golf course all day like you do, do better for the people and your crappy Yelp rating because of staff. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY. The cons definitely outweigh the pros at this course. To start off, the green fees and range buckets are ridiculous. $20 for 115 balls? That's a rip off. When I played on a weekday at 12. I still had to 20-30 minutes a hole. Ended the round in 5-6 hours. They even charge per hour for the chipping area. I heard that's not cheap either. The line to check in was so backed up and the staff there were super grumpy for no reason. Construction was being done in the middle of the fairways so a quarter of the course was basically unplayable. They are making a killing out here with these prices and 7 minute interval tee times. 2/10, there are better opportunities to golf out there. read more

Rip off. Paid $46 to golf here (fee + cart) which is way too expensive for this crappy course. Especially since city courses are much cheaper. Holes were closed, greens were not taken care of and tee times suck! Seriously, you wait about 10 minutes per hole just to tee off. I understand construction and all but a notice that' there's a few obstacles/ closed holes would be great Lower the prices for golfers since you can't play the entire course as you should. Funny part is I hit a great drive only to go up to my ball and be told by the construction worker the hole was closed. Deflating lol. Just a terrible place to golf in its current state. Staff is super nice but this isn't worth the money. Pro tip: if you do decide to play here keep your head on a swivel. Course is super narrow and ball fly everywhere. Now, to whoever was behind the desk working today, 10/13/24 around 12-30-1pm, short bald older Caucasian man -- was completely unprofessional when we had an issue with our cart malfunctioning during the day. The cart would randomly cut off and the employee said "all the carts suck, you need to reset it". Which of course who knows how to randomly reset a golf cart?. He had a poor attitude and then proceeded to half ass assist me with a new cart which didn't even have a key in it. He replied "you can use any key, use your keys" as if I had some readily available. Overall I like this course but that guy is unprofessional and ruined what would've been a good experience. read more

Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done is about the best way to describe it. This course is an executive course par is 64. We booked an early morning tee time--earliest you can do is 5:30am. They have lights out on the course so you can play early morning or later in the afternoon. Driving range and course were pretty busy by late morning. First few holes usually get backed up, but after that pace of play was decent we finished in 4 hours. Price was a bit high considering it's not a regulation course. Course conditions are WELL watered--you're more likely to hit fat than thin. Have fun sniping those geese if you're one to hit grounders or shanks! OR hit em long and straight! read more

When you get there, they'll tell you they've been busy and then start it then, even though there's only a couple tables. I visited the Westchester Golf Course Range. I went there with a friend to practice our golf swings. We are both very new to golf and just starting to pick up the sport. While we were there, the guy working actually came over to help us with our swing which was very thoughtful and nice of him. He gave us some great tips and made us feel welcomed. They have a lot of driving range stalls which makes for no waiting time! We enjoyed our time very much and will definitely be going back! read more

You pay for whatever size bucket of golf balls (large is $17 I believe) and then pick an open lane. I think you can rent golf clubs where the pro shop is, but I'm not sure since we brought our own. The driving range is separate from the golf course. We had a great time enjoying the sun and hitting golf balls. All 3 of us in our group were beginners so we were just having fun. Probably the best golf course in Los Angeles. Includes driving range, practice chipping area, and a downwind par 5! It offers a scorable but punishing golf course. Don't be right on the third hole. The top talent of LA golf is attracted to this magical course. Not to mention famous people swarm this oceanside course. I have personally seen Shaq, Byron Scott, and Doc Rivers. I also heard Aaron Rodgers played there. Westchester Golf Course also has a wide variety of wildlife. The second hole is home to an alligator, but do not fret. He never leaves the second hole pond. The 9th hole big tree houses a red-tailed hawk family, and the 17th hole is home to the fox. Only the luckiest people can see this fox; the best time is 5 am, when the course opens. There is or was a swan with a limp, but I have not seen him in a while. This is the best course in the continental US, maybe slightly behind Augusta or Pebble. All the reviews that slander this course are wrong, and those Yelpers should lose their license to Yelp "Steven N and Brandan H" in particular. read more

It's a great value for night golf at $20 after 5pm during the week. The lights are okay but not great in some holes so make sure to keep it in the fairway. If you get a light up ball, buy from Amazon and don't use the ones sold in the pro shop. If you play during the day, know that pace of play can be super slow but you can usually walk 18 holes in 3-4 hours in the weekday evenings after the sun sets. Greens are in good condition, and fairways and tee boxes are okay. But for $20 night golf in LA, you can't beat it! read more

This is the first golf course that I've been to that "prefers" not to have solo players, because it "slows down the pace of play". This is despite the course being 2/3 empty on a Monday morning. *Restaurant Review Only* The original Snack Shack @ Westy has been remodeled into the Ocean Breeze Grille Restaurant with a bunch of new menu items including the Smoked Jalapeno Cheesesteak (not quite Philly quality, but deec), the Mexicali Chicken Wrap (healthier option) and my favorite, Blanca's Original Chicken Tacos (ordered with a side of their crunchy battered french fries). Of course, they have the classics, hot dogs and burgers, but unfortunately there's still no option to solicit the help of a Bloody Mary or shot of Jim Beam during your round ;( The new indoor/outdoor patio is perfect for watching players tee off on #1 or making the turn on #9, as well as talking smack (or paying up) after the round while catching a game or two on one of their flatscreens. read more

Another golf course that my son has introduced me to. By him working in Westchester he frequents this location. This is a huge course, parking is free. This review is for the driving range only. It's located to LAX, the planes come in to land so low and loud. There is a prepaid magnetic key that allows you to get your bucket and balls, the price is pretty reasonable. This place is nice & clean, you constantly see staff cleaning around the course. There is artificial tuff in the driving range. They do offer night golfing 5:00AM - 10:00PM, Saturday's and Sunday's 5:00AM to 10:00 PM that you can tee off. I can't wait to return here to play golf but until then I'll keep on practicing because practice makes perfect. read more

The most unusual, awkward, and terrible customer experience ever. Arrived 20-30 mins early for tee time check-in. The first guy behind the counter immediately lectured us on how "every golf course in America uses last names for check-in" when we began giving him names of everyone in our group. He then was reluctant to give us a cart saying there are none available when we saw 3-4 empty cleaned ones behind us telling us "its first come first serve" but yet we saw him assign carts to customers behind us when we decided to wait for carts to be cleaned and ready. The odd part of this story was when we returned to check-in again about 15 mins later, another gentleman (who was a lot nicer) helped us. We followed every "advice" that was given to us by the other guy and when we listed off everyone's last name, we were asked instead for everyone's FIRST NAMES!!! You can't make this stuff up! Totally unnecessary behavior and customer service. Could've ruined our day but we decided to not let it affect our golf outing. As far as the course. My first and probably last time. It's super crowded and very slow moving. We finished 9 holes (Par 3/4) in about 3.5 hours and gave up on the back 9. A lot of other groups did too. The fairways are super tight against one another and there are balls flying around everywhere. You're going to hear a lot of "fore!" so be careful! read more

The GOOD: Nice practice area and very large practice putting green. The BAD: The course is in horrible shape and it takes forever. The GREEDY: $10 for 35 golf balls at the range?
