Great course. You do have to book in advance if you have more than 2 people. The course is well kept and plays fairly easy. There are some difficult holes and the pace of play can be slow at some times. Most of the time the pace of play is average and it's an interesting course. Open late during summer hours!!! Last call is at 9pm which is great and it's always packed with people practicing. As far as ranges go it's not spectacular but most courses unless you're hitting of grass aren't anything beyond mats and flags. So anyone being harsh on it don't know what a public course is. They don't have updated hours anywhere online. Only hours posted are from reviews that say last golf balls available 30 minutes before 10 pm, but when you show up there is a single sheet of paper that says last call is 9 pm for balls. Terrible ownership. read more

Overall it's a nice driving range with good space, lighting, and balls. The price is what you'd expect and any driving range, and both the balls and mats are great. My only comment is that if you plan to use a tee, either bring your own rubber tee or whatever you're using. Other than that, I totally recommend this driving range to anyone. read more

Been to the driving range plenty of time which does work up a thirst. Just next to it you have the whole balboa course. But with the range, there's plenty of parking as there's a huge lot just right in front. The range is pretty big so most of the time you wouldn't have to wait. The ball machine is located right when you walk in near the main shop. There's also a cafe just down the road, walking distance from the range. Food and drinks are served there. Great little spot for a thirst or a refresher in between holes. read more

The NEW ownership has MADE HUGE changes to this place. Before it was a dirt lot with some yardage markers, bad mats, and crappy balls. Now. Lush green grass, mats in great conditions, and balls are in fresh condition. More people need to go to get the $$$ money flowing so the owners can continue the upkeep for this range. Yikes! Where to start with this review, a place doesn't get more run down than this location. How can a driving range be run down? Well for starters, the whole process of actually getting your bucket of balls is archaic. It's cash only and you have to feed the machine, bring change because you are likely met with a grumpy reception for daring to ask for change at the counter. The range balls are completely worn out, a mish-mash of highly "experienced" practice and strays from the adjoining golf course. Many so worn, the dimples are just about gone, a lifeless hunk of plastic not so great for a practice session. As you do make it to the mats's( at least they seem fresh) you quickly realize there are no tees. That is a buck extra, WTF? Hmmm, fine, at least tell someone when they are getting change or buying a bucket you have to pay extra if you want a tee. Finally, bombs away into a giant dust bowl with all of the practice markers barely visible at night and poor lighting under the awning. A couple of small benches are scattered throughout for seating but that's about it. The chipping area is one small green, basically a mowed patch with two pins, no putting green anywhere. It is a range not a full fledged practice facility but still keep whatcha got in decent shape. This is a generous 2 stars, and they are getting 1 extra star for being open until 10 pm which is up for debate as the loud speaker blared out 9:30 was it for the evening. My friend and I had been working all day and we really needed a break. It took some convincing, but I got him to come and hit some golf balls. It was already 6:00pm and we weren't sure it was going to be open, but since it was on the way to his house we decided to try it out. It ended up working out. It's only one level, but plenty of space with fairly new mats. The area is well lit, which explains why it was open so late. The prices aren't amazing, but they're also not bad. It's $3 to rent one golf club, and $9 for a large basket of golf balls (which was enough to last my friend and I about 45 minutes). Overall, it was a big success. read more

The only good thing about this run down, moldy, unattended, decrepit range-it stays open until 10pm and it's next to Balboa so you can practice on their greens until dark. ***Other places give you more balls for less money and are much nicer if you care to drive a little. $10 for 100 balls is a crappy deal-PERIOD.*** It is disgusting, such neglect and disrepair that you think they are just gonna close up any day. Long grass as you walk up, no grass on the range. Dimly lit too. They used to have a chipping green-not anymore. They stopped manicuring it. NOBODY WAS THERE. And you have to have $5 or $10 bills to use the ball machine as they do not give change and NOBODY WAS THERE. The old store is just used as storage. All mats but no rubber tees. So unless you bought a rubber tee somehow, you really cannot use woods. There are several places around the block that stay open almost as late and are better, especially Woodley. Ready Golf is NOT ready for anything but a complete overhaul. They should be ashamed. read more

FOOOOOOUR Stars is NOT a rating I would give them. My boyfriend and I go to practice our golf game on this driving range. However, a recent experience lead us to believe that this business is a joke. We rented 2 tees for a $2 security deposit. One didn't work for us so we exchanged one. However, the "new" tee (old as F$%#) was soo deteriorated, worn out, and partially ripped that when my boyfriend initially took a swing, the tee broke in half. When we tried to get our security deposit, the worker, Luciano, treated us like we intentionally tried to break it and did not give us our money back. We seriously didn't care that we didn't get our money back but the fact that he was being unprofessional and was not listening to us made us feel this business does not care about its patrons. Based on the previous reviews, this is not the first time one of the workers have treated their customers horribly. Word to the business -- inspect, update and maintain your inventory, don't give your customers crappy tees and a bad attitude. Word to you all who are reading this -- GO TO VAN NUYS driving range. Went on a warm Sunday morning and there were plenty of empty bays. The range is dirt/gravel from the 250 yard back fence all the way up to the mats. Unfortunately the mats are embedded with that gravel and after hitting 10 or so balls the soles of my clubs looked like someone had run them on a coarse bench grinder. Range balls were a motley collection; cut and scuffed Titlist Pro-V's mixed in with actual range balls from each of the last 3 decades. Rubber tees were available on request at the token purchase counter. Don't think I'll be back. read more

Let me start off by saying, I'm no pro-golfer. The most extensive game of golf I've ever played was at the local mini-golf place. I don't go to Ready Golf Driving Range often; it's only been when my golf-enthusiast aunt is in town, or when my family has the urge to hit golf balls for fun. But I think if you're looking for a place to practice your swing, see how far you can land golf balls, or just take out some aggression, this place does the job. If my family has free time, sometimes they'll want to go to the driving range. Often times my brothers and I go there just to see how far we can get the golf balls to fly, almost making it like a competition. The last time we were there though, a golfer in the lane next to mine was so generous enough to give me tips on how to improve my swing. The only real complaint I have about this place is that not all of the lanes are shaded. I don't understand why they couldn't just build enough cover for all of the lanes...unless some golfers play better under direct sunlight....? Haha I don't know. But Ready Golf Driving Range is a-okay in my book. Nice people (who may give you golf tips) and a nice open place to swing golf balls in. read more

New Ownership it appears has done wonders. Their rates are better than mentioned below, I believe $11 for 120 balls. Staff is as friendly as you'd like them to be (which is to say they're mostly good, young kids, giving ya room to work on your swing but around if ya need anything, and a few old timers tossed in the mix as well). Facility is gorgeous, though in the Spring/Summer Help yourself out with some DEET or big repellant as the entire Sepulveda Dam Complex is under Vector Watch for West Nile mosquitos. Not a huge risk, just a heads up. Much better here than the range within the same Complex to the North though! Headphones may be recommended for those digging into their swing as there tend to be a lot of younger people and socializing going on here as well. My only improvement would be to find a way to end the buzz from the lights at night, which, if that's all you can change about a place I'd say that they're doing alright lol. read more

I've come here on and off over the last 10 years. It hasn't improved in that time. The customer service is fair at best. The range balls are in poor condition. The range itself is dirt and doesn't give you a good idea of how far a real shot would travel. If you want a quality range go to studio city. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. THIS PLACE WAS SO BAD THAT I CREATED A YELP ACCOUNT JUST TO WRITE THIS REVIEW. I have been to many golf ranges and I will NEVER return here. THIS PLACE IS NOT MAINTAINED WELL, THE LIGHTING IS BAD, THE GRASS IS UNCUT, AND THEIR SERVICE IS BELOW ACCEPTABLE. I did not have my clubs with me and I met up with some friends here, so I rented a driver from them. The worker (or owner, I am not sure) asked for my driver's license and I had to sign a waiver, which I did not mind. As soon as we started shooting around a little bit the driver fell apart, WITHOUT MY HELP, since I am sure they get a beating every day. I figured they would be understanding about it since it is not normal for something like this to happen. When I went to tell the worker, he was incredibly unprofessional telling me that I was not a real golfer and that I intentionally broke the driver. He would not return my drivers license until I paid for the driver. Eventually I ended up paying because I did not care to argue with him anymore. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DISHONEST BUSINESS, THERE ARE BETTER AND NICER RANGES AROUND FOR THE SAME PRICE. read more

Took the kids (11& 5) out for a summer nite at the driving range,. usually we go to the Van Nuys range but due to the lakers game they were closed. This place is a dump. No rental clubs for kids, the prices are exorbitant and they charge you for tees. For ten dollars you get maybe 40 balls. The shop won't let you use your charge card on purchases less that 20 dollars, and there's not a ATM anywhere close. And the shop cashier is a jerk. We won't be back, we will take our business to Van Nuys. read more

If you like hitting balls to dirt....no tees then this is the perfect ghetto place. Go around to Woodley where they have actual grass.

This is the closest driving range to me, so I tend to go here more often than the others. Considering it's in the area of Encino, it could be A LOT better. The mats are old, the balls are old, and you're hitting into a complete dirt patch with no grass. The largest bucket is $10 for 125 balls. (I do wish they had a jumbo bucket like other driving ranges.) The ranges can get busy, especially on weekday early afternoons when you see the local high school teams practicing here. My one complaint about this place is that the stalls are really close together compared to other ranges. When you're a noob like me with A.D.D., the littlest things that other people do in the other stalls can distract you. It's not nice and spaced out like the other driving ranges I've been to: John Wells, Hansen Dam, or Wilson. Also, like one reviewer mentioned, this place does leave green residue on your clubs. The other places I mentioned, you also hit off mats, but I don't get any residue like I do here! I do give this place kudos for being flat. My man's confidence goes up being able to hit the ball over the fence with his RocketBallZ driver. Also, during the weekend mornings, the cart guy who picks up the balls comes driving out. It makes me laugh how many people use him as a moving target practice. I've been here a couple dozen times.. usually great. Unless the guy decides to close 40 min EARLY! Seriously, they close at 10, last bucket at 9:30. I was there by 9:15 and the door was locked. The guy was in there counting the register while about 10 people were still driving balls. A few other patrons walked up to find the same disappointment as me. I called an said, 'you closed early' he said, we close at 9:30. I said clearly, look at the clock behind you, it says 9:20. He hung up on me. read more

This is not a Country Club but if you are looking for a place to practice your golf game, then this place has just what you need. A covered driving range, matts, targets and balls. Their balls are the cheapest of any place around town. Yeah, so what, you have to buy a rubber tee for a buck? Big deal! NO frills but, if you want a fair price for balls, then this is the place.
