Man I wish this food was better. While I was waiting in line a lady had come back after picking up her food and was yelling at the cashier that her food was cold and that she wanted hot food. A few moments later, a gentlemen dining in with his family got up from his seat and was angered that he got the wrong order after waiting for a long time to get his food. I felt bad for the cashier and other employee. I patiently waited for my takeout order with my daughter for 40 minutes. There were many people coming in and out for orders so I thought it may be worth the wait. When I got home, my family couldn't have been more disappointed in our food. The tikka masala was runny, very watery and little taste other than the strongest coconut flavor - strange for tikka. I got the tikka kabob. It tasted like they poured the entire bottle of turmeric on it. The rice, can't really go wrong with rice, right? Wrong! It was bland and had a strange bad water after taste. My daughter got a simple chicken fingers and fries. They were bland and tasted reheated maybe thru a microwave. My husband and I have the worst stomach aches now. I despise giving bad reviews unless it's extremely disappointing because I like to give all establishments the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we went on a bad day and they weren't on there game because of all the upset customers? Who knows, but I know my family won't be back. I ordered a very large order on an extremely busy Friday but I called as soon as they opened for pickup in THREE hours. The inside of the restaurant was insanely busy, even though they were closed for dine in. They really dropped the ball because I got there at our agreed pickup time and then proceeded to wait another 45 minutes for my order to be finished. And to top it all off, they forgot multiple parts of my order, including a full entree! They are a 30 minute drive away so that was extremely frustrating! The saving grace was that they remade all the missing food for us and didn't give any trouble at all. If this review was only for the food, this would be a full five star review. This is definitely the best Indian/Pakistani/desi food around. I've tried several different places around the area and I have to say, without a doubt, this is THE BEST food you can get to satisfy the craving. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The tandoori chicken was so moist and flavorful, the biryani spiced to perfection and the naan, to die for. Especially when dipped in the butter chicken sauce! Tandori Kabab came up on our Yelp search for local cheap eats and being hungry and less then a 10 minute drive, it was a no brainer to give this small Indian restaurant a try. Tandori Kabab is in a nondescript strip mall located on Burnt Mill Road in Vorhees. It is very close to the Echelon Mall and almost across the street from Sweet Eats. The restaurant isn't exactly a "hole in the wall" but it is very basic and also very clean. There is a menu and also an illuminated sign with photos of the dishes. One orders at the counter and the food is cooked to order. The pleasant young women told us it would be about 15 minutes. They have a refrigerator with soft drinks and water, they also have Mango lassi, and some other drinks on the menu. My daughter and I ordered vegetable Samosas, Chicken Tika Masala, Tandori Chicken and Garlic Nan, two sodas and bottled water. Our total was $22.00 and this was a lot of food. The Samosas came out quickly and were very good and not too greasy from being fried. The garlic Nan was delicious, soft and fresh. The Tandoori chicken had great flavors and spices and the meat was moist. The Tika Masala was also very good and this is one of my favorite dishes. We should have ordered a side of rice or more Nan to use with the Tika Masala sauce. Tandori Kabab is not fine dining but the food is very good and the prices are cheap. The utensils are plastic and the napkins thin; there is little to no ambiance, but who cares when the food is that good? 4 solid Yelp stars and definitely coming back. read more

Not the best ambiance, not the best customer service. I ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Beef Basa'i. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes from the estimate I was told, but for some reason ALL the food I received was barely tepid, and our Naan was SEVERELY burnt. That being said, once warmed to an edible temperature: the Butter Chicken was moist-the sauce was mild and smooth, the Chicken Tikka Masala was packed with the perfect amount of heat and spice, and the Beef Baha'i my husband and I could eat that every week it was THAT GOOD! In summation, if you want a nice romantic spicy dinner, this isn't the place to order from, but if you want leftovers that you can reheat and are packed with authentic flavors, this place is a hidden gem, as long as you're willing to reheat your food and maybe skip the Naan- stick with the rice. read more

I'm so sad, this is my first time ordering here and I was very disappointed. I just got off my third nursing shift in a row and am way too tired to cook. I ordered the butter CHICKEN and the naan and garlic naan. I opened up my order and noticed no rice, okay, that sucked; I opened up my butter chicken and there was NO CHICKEN in the container. Look, here's the good an the bad. The ambience is a bit lacking. It's not really the kind of place you'd take a date to. However, when I was driving by the other day, I saw two men loading aluminum trays of food into their car. It was after 4:00 and, believe it or not, I hadn't eaten anything yet. I pulled into the parking lot and asked the two men if the food was good. They said the food was great and they recommended the Chicken Bihari and the Lamb Chops. So, I went in an ordered the Chicken Bihari. Okay, here we go: I didn't leave the restaurant until about 30 minutes later, even though it was a take out order. While I waited people kept coming in to get trays and and trays of food. I held the door open for a few of the customers as they carried out their trays. It was a pretty friendly atmosphere. Finally, 15 minutes into it, I approached the counter and asked the guy how much longer it was going to take. I was told 5 or 10 more minutes. It ended up being more like about 15 or 20 more minutes before I got my food. The food: While I waited I also added a mango lassi and naan to the order. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and tender. Loved it! The naan was also wonderful. I wish I had ordered more. The cream-ish sauce was cool. However, I could take it or leave it. The mango lassi was larger than what you'd get from most Indian or Pakistani restaurants. However, I didn't find it as good as some of the other mango lassis I've had. Overall, I would go back and try the lamb chops like the two guys in the parking lot recommended. Just a couple of few things: I think more people working in the restaurant needed to be wearing masks. Thinking back, I'm not sure if anyone was. That being said, everyone was pretty friendly and the customers were really nice. One customer offered me a seat, since he saw I'd been waiting there awhile. Later on, I opened the door for him several times while her carried trays of food out of the restaurant for his own party. Oh, before I forget, I found out that everything is made fresh. So, that accounts for the long wait. The naan really did taste fresh, so I buy that story. Next time I'll order ahead and recommend you do the same. I went back today and got take out: kulcha/naan, chicken kebabs, chicken cheese kebabs and chicken tikkas. Yes, all chicken but it's such a versatile protein. Anyway, their naans were great and the kebabs/tikkas were on point. The naans were not oversized, did not have any undercooked parts,were nice and soft with the sesame seeds and biggest pet peeve of mine: NOT burned or dry. The kebab masala wasn't over or under spiced; it was just right. They also were not dry and were made fresh. They had an excellent appropriate fat to lean meat ratio for the kebabs. We initially were looking for Vietnamese food but all the places were closed so we stumbled on this place that somehow had 4 stars. I don't think anybody who has eaten this food has ever eaten Indian food from Philly - because this is not good. I had to stir it for a few minutes and still all the oil wouldn't mix - I've never seen oily Indian food like this. No flavor simply just spicy HOT. I specified mild but I could barely eat it how spicy it was. The rice was weird, not white not brown somewhere in between. The naan was decent but it was just pizza dough it wasn't proper naan. 1 star is generous. Don't eat this, spend the $5 bridge toll and go to the city read more

Not bad but definitely have way too small portion sizes for the price. I ordered first on grubhub, which was a huge mistake. They charge 7 dollars more online than if you would just call for the chicken bihari. Not only that, but it only came with just the chicken; paid 17 bucks for just 4 pieces of chicken with no rice or even bread on the side. I even asked for red and green chutney twice and they tried to cheap me out on that as well. They eventually gave it to me after asking a THIRD time. I come here every week for lunch, the food here is affordable and tasty. The interior is small, but not overly cramped similar to that of a Chinese take-out restaurant containing only a handful of tables. The chicken kabab is seasoned very well and not overly salty and the portions are generous for the price. You get 4 kababs per order and they are roughly 10 inches long often served with raw onion, jalapeño slices, lemon wedge, and Raita, which what I surmise is like an Indian equivalent of the Greek tzatziki sauce. I had to deduct two stars for the other item I ordered, which was the chicken tikka masala. The dish was seasoned just fine, but the problem was I had to skim off 4 tablespoons of oil. Secondly I ordered extra spicy, what I received was barely mild. Overall, the price for the food is very good, however if you want good chicken tikka masala this is not the place. Gagan Palace is a short drive away and little pricier, but the quality of food is vastly superior. Would recommend for those dining on a budget. 3/5 read more

I knew when this placed opened a few years ago it would be a diamond in the rough. Located in a old strip center that is highly overlooked. I waited wayyyyy to long to finally try it out. I pretty much threatened my boyfriend for the last piece of the bahari chicken kabab. I have never been to the actual location as I always send my live in postmates to go get it. But my postmaster, I mean boyfriend, said the place is clean, basic and the people have always been friendly. He also said both times he's gone, the front has been flooded with people waiting for take out (always a good sign). I've come in a few times and was told the wait is at least 25 minutes because of catering jobs they take on ,but most times they'll get your food out much faster than advertised. Thanks for being honest! I usually get the tandoori or chicken tikka and the meat is always packed full of flavor while maintaining its juiciness. Juicy meat is good meat. The fish kabobs and roti are solid as well and the portions are pretty substantial for what you pay. If you know you want some kabobs on the weekend, I suggest calling in your order or... I have been searching for great Indian since I moved from the Iselin, NJ area. (Indian food capital of the North East) I am not a fan of those mediocre Indian Buffets and those high priced "wihite table cloth" ala carte places with only marginally better food.
