Had lunch here on a friday recently. Excellent. We started with the baked articholes that exceeded my expectations. Not greasy. My dining companion had the Veggie Sandwich which she liked very much and i had the Vegetarian Plate that was delicious as well as filling. I would highly recommend this place. read more

My partner and I are VERY excited to have a steak house in the neighborhoood. While this review is going to be a bit harsh I want to temper that by saying we welcome Aroma and are SO grateful you are here. Please take this with the love with which it is intended. Ceasar-3 stars I like a robust dressing garlicky with anchovy. This was blah. Beet salad-5 stars tasty abundant beets and the pistachios were a nice addition. Lamb shank-3 stars was cool and unremarkable, the one lonely piece of zucchini looked like it had seen better days. Filet (ordered medium rare) -3/4 stars came out distinctly rare side of medium rare, cool in the center. I HATE sending meat back, if you feature steak on the menu then please get it right. Having said that... most of the time erring on the side of underdone is the best bet and our server graciously took it back to the kitchen. Add 1 star! My filet came back perfectly medium rare and the sides were yum. BIg thumbs up for the chimichurri sauce. Drinks- 3.5 stars. the tequila aperol signature aperitif is yum however my $15 glass of wine was maybe 4.5 ozs. Nothing chaps me more than a light pour. (Ironically it's this light pour that really sticks with me. My partner's pour was slightly better...not fair!) Service was mixed as well. Our main server was lovely and competent, however, our mains came out fast, we were not finished with our salads and had to scramble to make room on the table. And then our bread and wine list were inexplicably removed mid meal. Felt a little like we were being rushed out... I appreciate that others have said food came out slow and the restaurant has responded by bringing food out fast. Pacing is an art and a science. Expectations are high because of the prices... Overall with tip, $200 for two. (Made me nostalgic for fine dining in San Francisco...) Good luck Aroma, and YES! We will be back. read more

It was phenomenal. The food was excellent, drinks were a healthy pour and very reasonably priced. 100% we will be back. My only complaint was that I ordered my steak medium-rare and it came out blue. I was full by the time I got to the steak anyway, so I took it home and had it the next day for lunch. It was fabulous reheated! Their brussel sprouts were fantastic. The chicken and dumpling soup was so homey and delicious. I'm so happy this restaurant is here in my little town. read more

I'm a local, and been here 3 times now, never been disappointed! There's still a lot more I look forward to trying on the menu. Mario and staff are all awesome, super welcoming vibe and live music on Fridays. The cocktails are also amazing as are all the appetizers we've tried so far. While I do miss the old Tyrolean Inn, this place is becoming a new favorite for sure! Mario also has some great dance moves by night. ;) read more

Started off with the Aroma 23 signature cocktail. It was ok. Not good enough for a 2nd. Complimentary bread with a black olive and vegetable oil dip. Weird. Appetizer of "coconut prawns" with a coconut curry dipping g sauce. There was no coconut on the prawns or in the dipping sauce. The dipping sauce had a strong flavor of mustard more than anything. Either the manager or an owner came to my table to ask how I was enjoying everything. I did eat the overcooked prawns because I skipped lunch anticipating my dinner here. I gave him my honest opinion. He came back to my table carrying 2 large containers of Grey Poupon. One was the original and the 2nd was a stronger, grainy version. He explained that the stronger one was used instead of the milder one. And that that they ran out of shredded coconut, so they just used coconut powder. WHAT?! Maybe something that should be explained to the customer BEFORE continuing to prepare and bring to the table with NO explanation from the wait staff of the lack of usual ingredients missing. I guess they were just hoping I wouldn't notice the poor quality. Well, I have a very good palate. I know my food. The Tyrolean schnitzel was just as flavorless. And the mashed potatoes, that was suppose to be on the plate, was the flavorless scalloped potatoes. I chose the schnitzel liking the mashed potato accompaniment over the other entrees that describe the scalloped potatoes as the accompaniment. I was going to order the apple streusel ala mode prior to arrival inc at the restaurant. Needless to say, I passed. I did r need another disappointment. Then came the check with the "coconut prawns with curry dip", that was actually plain fried prawns with a mustard dip, was on the bill. After the waitress finally came back, I told her that, at the very least, it should be 1/2 the $20 charge. I did eat it out of starvation. She did go and take $10 off the bill. So very generous. I can't even explain how disappointed I am with my experience. Do not waste your time or money here. I wish I would have a saved my money and just stayed in my hotel room and ate my Doritos for dinner. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Aroma! On an RV vacation in the redwoods, we decided to celebrate our anniversary there with dinner on a Friday night. From making the reservation to being greeted at the restaurant, to the care taken with us as we ordered, every employee we interacted with was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The outside patio is lovely, and there was a talented live guitarist. (Inside is a beautiful bar and tables as well.) The place was full and lively but not overly noisy. And the food! What a diverse and interesting menu. The locally grown heirloom tomato salad was wonderful. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the garlic Aleppo prawns, and I was ecstatic about the Korean tempeh "bulgogi." (As a vegetarian, more often than not, menu options for me are uninspired. At Aroma, I had real choices among thoughtfully created items.) For dessert, we loved the tart tartin with vanilla ice cream, augmented at our waiter's suggestion with glasses of sauternes. My bf and I went to Aroma in Ben Lomond for dinner the other night. I have mixed reviews on the experience. When we arrived, it was difficult to determine where to enter the restaurant. Once inside, it still was unclear as there was another door where it felt we were entering incorrectly into the dining room. We waited for about two minutes at one point making eye contact with a bus boy who walked by and did not wave us in. At the point we walked in, we stayed by the door feeling intrusive as there was a party of 3 diners seated within 3 feet. We waited for approximately two more minutes before the same employee walked past us, again making eye contact, but not acknowledging us. On his return trip to the kitchen, I asked, "Excuse me, do we seat ourselves"? He then ran to the bar, checked our reservation and seated us. The dining room is quite small with tables fairly close to one another which made for a loud dining experience. The outside area looked to have ample space, it was just a bit too chilly for us to sit outside. Our waitress was very sweet and welcomed us with a friendly greeting. We received our beverages quickly and another employee was right behind with the bread. We ordered the artichoke heart appetizer which was delicious and arrived hot. My only recommendations would be to provide more than a tablespoon of dipping sauce and make it a four piece serving rather than three. We cut the third piece in half to share and it made quite a mess of the beautifully crafted artichoke. I ordered the swordfish which was accompanied by a side of couscous. The swordfish was wonderful. However, I wasn't able to eat more than a couple bites of the couscous because it was so heavily seasoned. My bf had the filet with a side of scalloped potatoes and broccoli. The filet was delivered medium rather than medium rare like he ordered but still, enjoyable. The scalloped potatoes were fabulous. Possibly the best we have ever had. Unfortunately, the broccoli was inedible. We each had one bite and something with a sand like texture was present and stayed in our teeth after the bite was gone. We did let our friendly waitress know and she happily replaced them with another side. We each ordered dessert, my bf with an americano and mine with a regular coffee. Two americanos were delivered to our table with the chocolate cake and lemon blueberry cheesecake. The chocolate cake was tasty and not too heavy. The cheesecake was very flavorful but a bit too dry and crumbly for my taste. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. The restaurant has only recently opened so I'm sure they will work out the kinks with time. At this point, we probably won't go back for awhile. But it's certainly not a "will not return" establishment. read more

We tried this new restaurant out last weekend & I have a mixed review. We couldn't figure out where we enter the restaurant as there are no signs directing you to anywhere but there was an empty host stand outside. We were seated immediately & had a kind server. The food was sub par as I ordered the swordfish entree & my partner ordered the steak. Mine had no flavor & his was way too salty. Everything did come out very slow so we passed on dessert as we sat too long waiting for our server to come by. Also want to note how LOUD it was. I hope they can figure out a way to buffer the noise because it was just so unpleasant due to how close all the tables were & hearing everything. As well as the door to the patio slamming every time someone went in or out of it. I don't think we'd come back solely on the noise level as it wasn't a peaceful dining experience. Located in the former Tyrolean Inn, Aromas is a welcome addition to Ben Lomond (and down the street from two of our fave places: Mountain Feed and Ace Hardware). We have eaten here twice, once on a date night and once with a group of eight friends. Both times the food and service were outstanding, and the owner came to the table to welcome us and thank us for coming. Everyone loved their food. We will be back!! read more

Stopped by on a whim after a big basin hike. Everyone very friendly, owner greeted us and visited for awhile. Service great. Remodel looks great, open, airy and clean looking. Outdoor patio looks nice. From 3-5pm they have tapas specials. Nice varied menu, something for everyone. We enjoyed the Peruvian ceviche, Brussels sprouts and Tyrolean schnitzel. Welcoming atmosphere and attentive but not obtrusive service was the start. The finish was a meal I can't imagine being any better. From the pulpo and ceviche to the ribs and crab cakes the apps were terrific. The bassa entree and the paella were terrific. The desserts (chocolate souffle and creme brulee) were awesome. Food is delicious. Good portions and well presented. Interesting menu. The owner warmly greeted us, we were seated right away, service was excellent, drinks were generous. Nice atmosphere. We struck up a conversation with a group at next table and they also raved about their meals. I highly recommend this restaurant. Nice to have another good choice in our valley and wish them success. If you are not a local, it's a little hard to figure out entrance and parking (IMO) but that is a minor point. read more
