I've only visited this place while cycling. I've had coffee here bagels and the service is great. The place is amazing. If I lived near here, I would hang out here all the time. Vibes are superior and people are very friendly towards Cyclist we get our water we get our coffee off running. I'll be going there again today. Featuring a calming view of the actual boulder creek, there's also in the middle of the cafe a giant redwood, and the proprietor takes care to widen the roof to make room for new growth. We ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito, both with sausage. Boulder Creek is a small town so don't have high expectations for the ingredients or execution. While the breakfast sandwich was good and well toasted, the burrito missed the mark. The tortilla was not toasted, the potato's inside felt undercooked, and overall lacked interesting flavor or salsa. The burrito had typical ingredients anyone can get to make at home and for the convenience, the cafe was very cute and homey. If the burrito were cooked a bit more, it would've made a huge different in flavor. read more

They have the smoothest coffee I've had in a long time. I had a mocha and I didn't need to add any cream or sugar to it--it was already perfect. They have plentiful indoor seating, plus some outside. Parking is super easy. The most remarkable point is the twin-trunk redwood tree--a real tree!--growing in the middle of the restaurant. How cool is that?! read more

I'm a Boulder Creek local and hate to bash on something so close to home, but Treehouse, you need to be better or you're not going to last. I had a meeting in 30 minutes up the road so I thought I had time to grab a breakfast burrito--nope, took 20-25 minutes to cook up those microwaved eggs. I was late to my meeting. That's not the worst part, the burrito was an absolute disaster. I order the veggie burrito and the barista asked I want want avocado and sour cream. I said sure that sounds good. The posted $8.75 price on the board jumped up to almost $13-- after top was close to $15. I understand that up charge for a ocado as they are not cheap, but $6 for avocado and sour cream? Yikes. That's not all-- the avocado was ROTTEN in multiple bites. See photo for example. Gag inducing. The tomatoes were also not fresh and I can't stand tomatoes (my bad for not saying not tomatoes as I didn't notice they were included). Btw, who the hell puts tomato in a breakfast burrito?! Yuck. There were also RAW WHITE ONIONS and cheese that was not melted at all. Long story short: I was late for my meeting, gagged on rotten avocado and unmwlted cheese, and the cherry on top? The sour cream they charged me for was not out in the burrito! Sorry Treehouse, I think that's the last straw. Jenna Sue's down the street is way more busy for a reason. I hope you improve and take the time to make sure you don't put brown avocado on people's breakfast knowingly. It's bad enough for a perfect avocado to jack up the price let alone a rotten one without the mark up for the non existent sour cream. 2 stars instead of 1 because I don't have it in my heart to be that mean to a lacoal business. I had a craving for a vanilla milkshake and went to the Treehouse to enjoy one about a half an hour before they closed. The very cheerful young lady went to take my order and then realized they had the freezer in front turned off for cleaning and sadly informed me the freezer was turned off. No ice cream. I thanked her anyway and went outside to leave and a gentleman followed me out as I was about to start my truck and told me he would get some ice team out of the large freezer in the back and make me a milkshake. I took him up on his offer. I'm guessing this may have been the owner but did not ask. I am impressed that they took the time to make a customer something that took extra effort to make so close to closing time. Outstanding milkshake (Marianne's ice cream), outstanding service. Unusual building with a giant Redwood growing in the middle of it. Worth a stop for refreshments and food if you're in the Boulder Creek area. They do close in the afternoon. read more

TRULY UNIQUE Don't let the drab-looking exterior fool you. They don't need to pressure the landlord for upgrades.... The TREEHOUSE JUST **POPS** in every way once you walk in the door. You know you are in a quality place when staff greets regulars by name -- and sincere conversation. New customers are made to feel just as welcome. There really is an OLD GROWTH REDWOOD TREE slicing through the roof of the back dining area!! And an area for well-behaved kids tucked in the corner. The pretty standard breakfast and lunch menu (all great tasting stuff) is boosted by a dozen ice cream flavors, and a large variety of teas, and coffee drinks, and pastries. It's always great when it is NO PROBLEM to customize your order, too. I see some Yelpers complained of it feeling "too rustic." HELLO?? Why are you in Boulder Creek or heading to one of the state parks? :-) To me, the rustic feel is part of the GREAT ambiance... especially if you take time to look at the local art work on the walls, and appreciate the age of the Redwood tree. Maybe add a brief or long conversation with the staff, a regular, or a fellow visitor. Everything about the place exudes a positive vibe! (I discovered the Treehouse while in the area for an extended project. Got an iced quad Oatmilk mocha from here. It was very good. They do use Ghirardelli mocha sauce, which I often find is too sweet, but this was good. Would definitely return. Service was excellent. Good coffee, extremely slow food workers. Baristas and food cooks should have communication between them. I ordered 2 mochas and 2 avocado toast with no veggies, so it was just bread and avocados. My coffee were ready in under 5 min and then I waited another 7-10minutes for 2 avocado toasts while coffee were just sitting on the counter. Result? Warm coffee (not hot). This is something that they can improve by implementing additional training. Their coffee was really good, we loved it. It's just the service that was sub par. read more

I visited this town on the weekend of the 4th of July. You can absolutely tell that this cafe is NOT intended for a rush-hour of 20+ people at one time. This is small, isolated town on the way to Santa Cruz; this isn't a Starbucks or a McDonalds with a plethora of individualized workers on a rotation. This is a family owned place in the midst of a small town. So, it's rather funny to see the only negative reviews on this site don't account for any of the environmental and economical factors that associate with operating a business. This place handled the 4th rush like champions. They grinded; the mom, dad, and daughter. Busted their asses and it was very motivating to watch as a business major. We spent two additional days after the 4th, attending for breakfast each day. Sure, the food isn't as fast as the drinks, but it's obvious to this consumer that food takes longer to cook than pouring coffee, so that's completely understandable. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. Fluffy and not dry, with a good breakfast gravy. The cold brew was perfect. The iced mocha was perfect. The service was as friendly and laid-back as you can ask for. Extra chocolate milk and toast for free for my son, ad well as an amazing recommendation for local hiking (which we followed and didn't regret). This town will be a location we frequent when trying to get away from the valley. And we will support this business everytime we visit. read more

This place is a gem, family run (by one of the nicest families I have ever met in my entire life) there is a massive redwood tree growing in the middle of the dining area that you have to check out! The food is great, they have all the staples you'd want from a cafe and a great view of the redwoods and a small creek in the back. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work here.
