I had gotten a certificate here years ago, and finally came in for an hour massage with Dee and it was fantastic! Great little space, not that private (you do hear everything going on outside the room) but for the price and the quality I'll take it! Dee asked about my concerns and I said hips and lower back (I'm constantly on my feet for work) and girl found big knots in my shoulders and calves - obv I have no idea what I'm talking about (though she did humor me, most of my session was hard work on my shoulders! Dee's got some muscles, that's for sure). The music and oils, the little pats and stretches between hard pressure, Dee really takes care of you! Dee was my therapist and she's EXCELLENT, she's small but mighty. This place is awesome IF you are into deep tissue massage, I am so I LOVED my massage. I bought a Groupon for 90 minutes and I got the ENTIRE 90 minutes which rarely happens. I paid $10.00 extra for deep tissue and it was well worth it. My neck and shoulders are like rocks so I'm not looking for a relaxing spa massage, I need somebody to go down deep and make me cry. LOL. I was never crying but a couple of times I was muttering to myself, "Ouch..."! Dee is able to give both a relaxing and a therapeutic massage & there were times I was ready to doze off. She pulled and stretched me until I felt like a wet noodle. She even climbed on top of me and walked on my legs and gluts which really worked those tight muscles. The only blip occurred when I showed up for my scheduled appointment two weeks ago. The girl at the front desk claimed to not have my appointment on the books. I left and the only reason I came back is because I had already purchased a Groupon. The spa itself is not luxury but the massage table was comfortable and the sheets were clean and not scratchy. I love good massages & I don't care if the spa is not luxury, just as long as the therapist knows what they are doing and is willing to give me a deep, deep tissue massage I'm going to book Dee again. read more

Purchased a groupon for myself and my little sister. I was taking her as a graduation gift and called a week ahead of time to schedule an appointment. I spoke to a nice lady over the phone (wish I remembered her name) who scheduled an appointment for 10 am on 7/5. I asked for the day off work, picked my little sis up and headed over over. It took us 45 minutes to get there- I was willing to make the drive because this place had solid reviews on groupon so I was feeling optimistic. We arrived at 9:45 because I was told to get there early to fill out paperwork. The sign out front says in huge letters that they open at 9am but the doors were locked and the lights were off. We were confused but waited nonetheless. Then at 10 am sharp, I got a phone call from the same lady who scheduled our appointments telling me that their masseuse would not be in that day and therefore, they could not fulfill our appointment. She gave me 2 options: 1- Only one of us could get a massage that day or 2) We could both come back at 4 pm.... I have worked in retail long enough to know that call outs happen and while it looked SUPER unprofessional and caused a huge inconvenience, it is still not the reason I am only leaving a 2 star review. My issue is that no one even came out and had the nerve to have a conversation with us in person. The woman on the phone was there in the office or at least one of the masseuses was (I know this because she said she would have someone come let us in if we wanted the one massage) but didn't feel that the inconvenience was worth getting up from her desk. I would have really appreciated even an offer for some kind of small upgrade or really anything. And to make matters worse, I was required to provide my groupon redemption code over the phone which meant I had to open the voucher which means I can no longer be refunded for it. read more

What an inconvenience. Their website allows online booking so I did schedule my treatment. 30mins before my appointment a lady texted me to tell me not to come as they are fully booked. I have already made plans to go and moved my schedule only to get this last minute cancellation. Very unprofessional and did not even have the courtesy to call and let me know instead I got a text message. These people are not educated and qualified!!!!!!! My mom has back injuries and issues and she asked them to be gentle during her massage, but they insisted on "working out the knots". Customer service 101: don't blatantly argue with a customer. This review is not based on the actual services here as I was unable to even stay for the facial after such a terrible customer service experience with the booking person - Katie. I had an expired Groupon here for a 60 minute massage which states that the $40 paid value never expires. When I called to book, I CLEARLY explained that it was an expired Groupon for massage and I would like to have a facial instead if it was possible. Katie assured me that it was no problem and that I would simply have to pay the difference. I was looking at their website at the time and saw a specific 60 minute facial for $59 and mentioned this one to Katie and she reiterated that I would pay $19 for the service. I arrived today and the therapist who took my Groupon said that I needed to pay $20 to make the Groupon valid again for massage and then $20 for the facial. When I explained what I had been told she called Katie and after they spoke for a moment the therapist offered to do it for $30. I asked to speak to Katie who went into saying that I never told her the Groupon was expired and that they don't offer any 60 minute facials for $59 (there's actually a whiteboard in front of their business that says $55 for a 60 minute facial and interesting enough their website is down right now so I can't screenshot the one we talked about - I'm sure they are making those edits as I type this). Katie and I went back and forth for a minute where I restated our earlier conversation and she continued to argue with me saying "I never said that" and "we never offer 60 minute facials for less than $75". The reason for the second star is that the therapist truly did her best to remedy the situation and even as I left she tried to apologize for Katie's behavior and said that maybe she was busy during our first call and wasn't listening properly. If Katie hadn't argued and simply said there was a miscommunication or apologised for the misunderstanding I would have willingly stayed and paid $30. I completely understand the need to make a certain amount on services and that there is only so far you can go to financially accomodate a customer - what I don't understand is how you could outright argue with a customer and accuse them of being untruthful when you could just be apologetic about the misunderstanding yet firm on the $30. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this visit. I did not know that the "deep tissue" massage would be an extra $10.00 AND it was the softest "deep" massage ever. When I first spoke to the lady on the phone she took my voucher number so I didn't bother printing it out. Something went wrong with communication so I spent 10 minutes downloading the app and retrieving the information (lesson learned on my end.) The establishment seemed clean and has the bare essentials but the quality is low- like they bought the products from the dollar store (I read the product labels.) So, it's massage time and the lady, Dee, keeps telling me that I need to exercise a lot more. Wow thanks! The truth is I don't think she was trying to insult but to keep telling me that throughout the massage was irritating and unprofessional. From my experience, I didn't run into any issues that were brought by some people below, so I can only write from my experience. I made an appointment and called and spoke to Katie to confirm my appointment, since the first email does not confirm your appointment- you have to wait for a second email to confirm or for a call. I'd suggest just calling to confirm since it is a lot faster. I arrived several minutes ahead of my appointment, but did have to wait about 5 min after my appointment schedule time since they were finishing up another client and cleaning up as well, which isn't a problem; still got my 60 minute massage regardless. The 60 minute massage by Dee was great! She was overall very friendly and got rid of a lot of knots in my back. Thanks Dee! Definitely recommend her if you decide to try this place out! read more

I wish they would have just taken me and by husband in on another day.. perhaps, they would have done a better job? I bought a Groupon a few weeks ago with my daughter and had called the spa to make the appointment for when she was in town. When we got there, everything was locked up and no lights were on. So we called the store a few times after waiting for 15 minutes for someone to show up, and finally someone called us back. They argued with us telling us that we did not make the appointment on that day (the only day she's in town) and then proceeded to tell us that spa does not have anyone to do the massages anyways. I looked for a new nail place to get a French gel pedicure and found them on Yelp. Very happy with their service, friendliness of the team and cleanliness of the salon. I am very pleased with the steam therapy which deviates from the usual 'foot spas' other nail salons offer. It was a treat to get an exfoliating sugar scrub & soothing massage on my legs. Ask for Helen to do your nails They use organic products too I was offered a drink of my choice which was Mango juice (they have chilled water and soda too). This is a combined review, as my husband and I both came here for two massages at the same time. They offered a couple's room to us which was nice. However the massage experience for both of us was quite different. I bought one livingsocial and one groupon voucher based on these great reviews I was seeing, but unfortunately was very unimpressed. My husband's masseuse was pretty good. She clearly communicated with him when she walked in. She made note of the pain points he indicated on his chart. Asked him what sort of pressure he would like, etc. Continued to check in with him during the massage to ensure he was feeling OK and the pressure was good. Overall he said he had a pretty good massage. Mine on the other hand was not good and not worth my $60 (groupon + tip). My masseuse said "Hi" to me when she walked in and then just began. She spent about 20 minutes massaging over a sheet which was nice, but i was craving what I felt was like the massage to "start", which would be more pressure, and oils. Then after that, I was excited as I thought the massage would start, and instead she literally climbed on me the whole time. She stood on top of my back and used her feet. While some parts of it were OK, most of it felt off and like she really didn't know what she was doing. I've never had a massage like that before, and honestly felt like she was hurting me more than she was doing any good. She had no rhythm to her movements. I noted on my chart that I wanted the focus to be on my neck and shoulders (where I carry most of my stress), and instead she focused on my legs, and barely did anything substantial to me neck or back. I am new to the area and was looking for a quality spa salon. I saw the Grand Opening promotion and noticed the organic products that are used with the service. I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. The manicure and pedicure service was sensational. Not only was the service relaxing, it was also done with proper care and precision. The temperature of the water bath was at perfect temp. where at other salons I would tell the technicians to lower the temperature. My nails came out looking great. I was feeling ridiculously stressed out with everything that has been going on in my life, so I went onto Groupon to look for a massage spa nearby. I read how Aromist uses organic products and decided to give it a try. The moment I walked in I was greeted immediately with a warm smile. The front desk lady used my name when she greeted me. That was nice because they welcomed me as if I had been there before. My massage therapist was Dee, and she was really sweet and friendly. We had a very nice conversation while she was doing the massage. I have done all types of massages, but I was not sure which style Dee was doing. I asked her, and she told me that she uses all types of techniques to make sure the client gets all the pain they want out. And she did! I arrive to my appointment five minutes before the scheduled time. Her teenage son let's me know that they're running 10 minutes behind schedule all in all I had to wait 15 minutes. When I come out of the bathroom, they come and tell me that is the wrong date. I wrote down today's date especially since today was the last day to use the Groupon. Not only was she rude but had her teenage son give information and when asked questions, he said "I don't know, I don't work here my mom will come out to help you later." I ask what can she do to accommodate me, if I had to wait for the following week since the Groupon expire, she said I would have to pay additional cost... short staffed, no customer service & when she comes out after 12 minutes, she comes out with an attitude. Finding this little gem of a spa was the highlight of my vacation in Huntington Beach. Becky gave me a microdermabrasion facial and when I woke up from it (yes it was that relaxing) I was amazed my skin was so glowing and I felt positively refreshed. I was then delighted by Katie's steam pedicure which I had never experienced before. I believe they both must have massage training because this was not your typical pedicure "massage" my legs really felt rejuvenated. And the steam pedicure was probably superior to a regular pedicure and it certainly looked great! This is a really cute little spa, nothing too fancy but it feels a little cozy. The workers were so nice and did such an a amazing job on my nails like I love! Their pedicure is a little different it's steam instead of soaking but let me tell you, it feels freaking amazing. The store is new so they're getting the hang of it. I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute massage and was looking forward to trying a new place. My job requires me to be on my feet a lot as well as do some heavy lifting so I get deep tissue massages about once a month to relieve the stress in my back and shoulders. This was definitely not like any full body massage I've ever had before. The main reason is that at one point the massage therapist actually climbed up on the table where I was lying face down and then proceeded to walk up my calves and onto my buttocks where she then stood or crouched for a few minutes. After that she got off the table and worked on the rest of my body providing the deepest pressure I've ever had from a massage. Overall, I think all of the kinks were worked out, but I ended up with small bruises around my shoulder blades from the firm pressure and I'm still not sure about how I feel about literally being walked on. That, on top of the place itself being a little outdated and only having curtains in place of doors on each room so you can hear everything else going on in the rest of the spa is why it gets 3 stars. read more
