Winnie, in particular, was so warm and gifted--she carefully worked through deep, stubborn knots in my upper back, traps, and lower back with so much intention. After the massage, my migraine was essentially gone. I felt clear, lighter, and the pain and tightness were significantly relieved. My massage therapist used the right amount of pressure and focused on areas with noticeable knots. She didn't get them out, but felt significantly better afterwards . My first visit (but not my last) to this outstanding massage business. Surf City Massage takes reservations, has specials and makes your visit special. We were immediately greeted upon arrival and the team was prepared for us as we had reservations for my friend's birthday massage. We chose a 90 minute experience which was fabulous. Rooms are clean and set up perfectly for your clothes to be hung and a space for your shoes. Bathroom is neat and tidy with hair ties if you need them. Service was great, and quiet (no chatty therapists). Following our service, we were not rushed out the door-we had time to continue our decompression. Water is offered and we received a small gift (that I gave to my grandchild). Surf City Massage offers a "card" to be initialed and after 10 massages, you get a FREE 1 hour body massage. I didn't have a great experience here, mainly due to customer service. I found it uncomfortable and rude that they asked for a tip before the service even started before the massage, I left a $10 tip, and the response I received was, "But there is two people," which felt awkward and unprofessional. The massage itself was decent, but honestly not worth the price. It was $60 with a coupon, and I can't imagine paying full price for the level of service provided. To top it off, after my session I thought I had left my phone inside and asked if I could quickly check. I was rushed, pressured, and felt like I was almost being pushed out the door. It was very uncomfortable and made me feel unwelcome. Overall, the massage was okay, but the tipping pressure and poor customer service really ruined the experience. I wouldn't return. read more

Updating my review because after nearly being coming here for a year my experience this evening was beyond disappointing. My masseuse this evening was texting on her phone as she massages me for 20 mins on and off I could tell because something kept bumping near my leg and she would frequently just move her hand up and down my back very slowly then stop and get back to massaging. I finally reach down by my leg and felt her phone and said what is that and her response was to grab the phone quickly and say "I'm the manager I'm doing business" RIDICULOUS!!! I told her I'm done with my massage and she can conduct her business elsewhere to leave and she asked if I wanted someone else. If someone else was available and she had "business" to conduct on her phone then I don't know why she would be on that room massaging me on the first place. My boyfriend and I discontinued our massage and walked out as she just looked at us and the other lady asked if we want water. No apologies no comment so we left without paying and won't be coming back. I'd like to express is my boyfriend and I come here every month if not every 3 weeks. I've met this lady who claims she is the manager many times at the front desk. The fact she would not only start texting during my massage compromising the quality of service I'm paying for, but then not even apologize and let us walk out without saying a word. She tried to justify it's okay she did that and that tells me management doesn't value their customers. read more
