Well, we all know very senior people can be very grouchy and picky at times. Recently my dear sweet…read moreUncle called me in the morning and was very sad, and grouchy. I asked him if he had eaten breakfast. He was so upset. He said he asked for cream of wheat, his staple for a happy breakfast, and they told him they were out of it. He sounded so discouraged. He said he tried the oatmeal but didn't like it. And he said it was the only meal he really loved. Now that is of course not a calamity, but for him it was. So I hung up and thought about it. The last thing he said was, sorry to be a bother. I told him, of course, he was not a bother, ever. So I decided to give it a try. I called the front desk and spoke to a wonderful, helpful woman, who listened to my story about breakfast. She immediately asked for my number to have the woman in charge of breakfast to call me. I did not think the woman would call me back, however she did right away. She knew my Uncle and agreed he seemed so disappointed. She told me the truck was late and didn't get there in time to prepare the cream of wheat for breakfast. However, she let me know that my Uncle ate 2 eggs over easy and two slices of toast. That was new information. So I asked her if she had Cream of Wheat now. She said yes. So I asked her if she would make some for my Uncle and take it to him. She said, well are you sure he still wants it? I said yes. So she agreed. When I called my Uncle to tell him they are going to make him some now and bring it to him, he laughed. That was so great. I don't know where you get that kind of service anywhere. I do know that it was important to me and really nice for my Uncle to know we all care about his life and experience. I really love this Senior Solstice Living, and they really have to work hard to please all those Seniors. Today they made me really happy!

The further inside you go the worse it gets. Three beds to a tiny room you can barley move. I went to put my parents clothes in the closet drawers and it was so dirty I don't think they have ever cleaned them out. I was questioned by two different staff members as to who would be doing my parents laundry. Surely not you as you can't even pick up trash from the floor let alone wash laundry. I pulled back the blinds and could see 5 or more beds outside with a big blue tarp in the general area, lord knows what was under it. Patient beds are old, the kind you have to crank to raise and lower the head and foot. When I called and asked for my parents room the person who works there asked if they were an employee or residence. Why would I call ask for an employees room? Please do not put your loved one in this hell hole!! Even if it means you spend a few extra days find a better place you will be thankful I assure you. If I have to cash in my 401k to get my loved one in a better facility I will gladly live my retirement years in box to have peace of mind now. Thank heavens my loved is only in this situation for a small period of time, no matter how short of time it WON'T be at this place!!

But no sooner than she arrived there , we were working on getting her out of there. As my Sister and I walked in she almost slipped and fell in a puddle of water from a Leakey roof. On top of that , it reeked of urine and mold throughout the halls. In her room where they have 3 beds squeezed in, the beds are at least 10 years old or more. The curtains were a dingy yellow color with a musty scent to them. We proceed to tell the person working there my Mother hasn't had dinner. They than bring her a cold sandwich which looks like something they feed prisoners. We also tell her that she has to use the bathroom and the person working there tells My Mother in a voice as which you would speak to a child " You pee-pee you diaper and we clean you ". Needless to say we brought My Mother home. So if you have someone who you love and care about, PLEASE DO NOT PUT THEM HERE.!

I visited the ER for a lupus tlare-up and left feeling disappointed with the care I received…read more The biggest issue was communication. Throughout my stay, I felt that staff were not keeping me informed about what was happening, what the treatment plan was, or what the next steps would be. It seemed like there was limited communication among staft members, and I often had to ask questions to get basic information about my care. I also felt that some staff members lacked empathy and confidence when discussing my condition. Because lupus can be a complex illness, I expected more understanding of my symptoms and concerns. Instead, I felt dismissed and uncertain about whether my condition was being fully evaluated. After spending approximately nine hours in the ER, I was discharged with the same pain and issues that brought me in. I left without feeling that my concerns had been adequately addressed or that I had a clear plan for managing my flare-up. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, patient education, and compassion for patients dealing with chronic autoimmune conditions.

(My personal opinion...NEVER go to them)But the reason I still use them is because they have some of the best physicians I've met during my 30 year industrial career. Round 1 The Lab gets 2 stars this location on Stockdale for my appointment I waited in the line marked appointments for 10 minutes with no one even coming out to see if there were customers waiting. 14 minutes in all and 6 customers outside a young man walks out and asks if there are any appointments I raised my hand and he checked me in. fine .. I look on the lab board and I am dead last.. ok I wait about 5 minutes and 3 people go into the lab. I walk back to the counter to ask why I have a 50-55 MJ ute wait when I have an appointment. He said " you have an appointment? I said yes when you asked I raised my hands and you checked me in . The young man checked me in and I shot to the top of the list . 1-2 minutes wait time. Round 2 I get called back and I asked for a butterfly needle because I have issues with the normal size and phlebotomists missing my veins.. Since I figured this out 6 years ago I have never had a problem.... Until now I get a girl/woman who puts in the butterfly and misses my vein.. spills out and reinserts to fine the vein. Blood drawn I get gauze and tape cool.. next day .. pictures below.. Round 3 my 9 yr old daughter goes with my wife and gets blood drawn with a butterfly needle , says the girl missed and had to wiggle it around . My wife was upset and took down her name says she told it to my kids PCD. Guess what ? same phlebotomist. So this is my issue and I've never done this before but the Stockdale location is fine except this one phlebotomist. I wont say her name but it rhymes with Bristal. Kaiser please send this person back to phlebotomy school I have never bruised in the last 6 years and my child bruised once a a child. This is expected but not with such frequency.. I'm sure she misses much more than she hits This is totally unacceptable. I've had blood drawn every 3 months for the last 12 years at the VA and let me tell you they are bad but they don't deal with children so it's different. Head are the pics of my arm I'll do an update my kid is ashamed to go to school with a noticeable bruise on her arm and wears a compression sleeve to hide it.. Luckily she's a bit athletic so her friend think it's cool. Long story but I believe necessary.

The individuals posting these single-starred reviews ought to be out and out ashamed of themselves! I mean WTF? REALLY? Oh, wait, - I get it! It's all about THEM! Never once thinking about the employees and what patient load they have, their responsibility in treating patients within the "standard of care" and legally accepted protocols that govern damn near every single F*ing thing in this F*ing state due to Gruesome Newsome - as well as caring for illiterate people who know absolutely nothing about decency, respect, and consideration for others - let alone medical treatments for diagnosed, as well as undiagnosed conditions! Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. OMG! WELL, all you single-starred reviewers, I got NEWS for you. Our experience was absolutely one of concern, caring, respect and consideration for our situation. We politely requested if the TV could be turned down, and the staff bent over backwards trying to help. They couldn't get the TV remote to work, and instead of giving up, handed it to my husband (who can fix literally anything just by looking at something) and indeed, he got the TV volume reduced. NOW, how is that rude? How is it rude to ask someone to not "throw up on the floor" when throwing up on the floor causes others to become potentially exposed (in medical lingo called cross-contamination...OMG!) to whatever virus and/or bacteria the individual may have causing hyperemesis, as well as causing a tripping hazard, AND maybe making someone leave the urgent care sicker than when they came in catching that damn "throw-up" virus/bacteria!!! Use your damn BRAIN. Oh, wait, that's right...no one does that anymore because their brains are all stuck inside their iPhones...or "where the sun don't shine" - which is far more likely. P.S. A really big THANK YOU to "Ana" for being so considerate, CALLING US telling that she would walk out to the car to give a card left behind to us (when we came back) so we wouldn't have to come in to get it. EVER HEARD OF THAT????? That qualifies as a 20-star review in my book.
