It's been months of back and forth trying to get my father open to this idea of living in a senior community-which was a huge challenge. Marian, from day one, has just been incredible! There aren't enough words to say how amazing, kind, patient, and supportive she really is. We recently moved my dad into Hillcrest and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience we've had so far! In such a short time, my siblings and I have seen great positive changes already! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms by the amazing and supportive staff. Marian, and all the staff here genuinely cares -- not just about the residents' basic needs, but about their comfort, happiness, and dignity. The facility is immaculate -- always clean, fresh-smelling, and beautifully maintained. It's clear that attention to detail and cleanliness is a top priority, and that gives us so much peace of mind. My dad says the food is very good, always warm and nice full meals at each dining time. The transition for our father was something we were nervous about, but the compassionate team made it smooth and reassuring for him (and for us). They took the time to get to know him, listen to his needs, and help him feel at home. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a caring, respectful, and professionally run home for our dad. I have visited most of the care facilities in our county and decided that a Continuing Care Community was the best option for me. I had visited University Village in 2022 but was not really serious about moving. I called them this year and talked to Martha Macker, one of their Marketing reps. She took me and 3 friends to visit one of their garden terrace units; it was like love at first sight. Any hesitations about moving left that afternoon. They have waiting lists and Martha has been there for advice and assistance through the application process. I am now on the active waiting list where I am advised when a unit I am interested in becomes available. I am really excited about becoming a resident there and believe I will enjoy many safe, fun and activity filled years in a beautiful setting.

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

During my visits with my grandma, I saw how happy and well-cared-for the other residents were--the daily meals, activities, and interactions all felt warm, structured, and intentional. As a senior placement consultant, first impressions matter deeply, and this one absolutely set the tone. I was warmly greeted at the door by the Administrator, Tammy, and from there, the tour just got better and better. Tammy is a gem--her love and commitment to her residents radiate from everything she does. She treats them like family, often going above and beyond to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system to secure the right durable medical equipment or services residents may need. That kind of support is not something she has to do--it's something she chooses to do. Tammy also has a strong network of providers and often relieves families of the burden of coordinating care, especially during an already overwhelming time. Her knowledge of innovative, often more effective equipment and care solutions is impressive, and she does it all with the residents' best interest at heart--frequently at no benefit to herself and at no or limited cost to them. On one visit, I arrived to find Tammy in the kitchen preparing a full Irish feast for St. Patrick's Day--corned beef and all the trimmings! The home was buzzing with life, with therapists coming in for different residents, and creative artwork by the residents proudly displayed throughout the home. Even though it's a 6-bed facility (which isn't required to post activities), she has a calendar posted--because she understands how important it is to give residents something to look forward to and to keep everyone meaningfully engaged. The home itself is beautifully remodeled, fresh, and impeccably clean. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with their own belongings, creating a true home-like environment--not a facility-type lifestyle. There's warmth, laughter, great food, and a genuine sense of comfort throughout. The backyard is just as thoughtful--a peaceful gathering area perfect for fresh air and connection. Tammy ensured the recent remodel used only top-quality materials, all while staying fully compliant with assisted living standards. Each time I visit, I look forward to seeing the same uplifting energy and warm atmosphere. After a hospitalization we had just one day to find a place for my mom. It was overwhelming to have to make a decision so quickly. We toured 4 homes set up for us by Assisted Living Connections (an amazing local company who helps to place loved ones in long term care). We knew immediately that this was the right place for our mom, but did our due diligence to tour the remaining homes on our list. Even though Cinnamon Gardens home is calm and beautiful, the main reason for choosing this place was the administrator Tammy. Tammy is so kind and put us at such ease, we knew my mom would be well cared for. One year later this is 100% the case. Tammy is organized and keeps me well informed. She is always looking for ways to engage the residents and to do something special for them. Family members are made to feel so welcome when visiting. The place is spotless. There is a nice shaded patio outside to sit and visit. The inside is light and bright with comfortable recliners for the residents. The staff are super kind and attentive and so respectful to the residents. They make families feel at home. My dad with dementia had an oozing wound for 4 weeks and NO ONE from the med staff let me know nor…read moredid their podiatrist. By the time I learned of it we were dealing with sepsis! The med staff was putting bandaids on the wound and the PALs were stuffing toilet paper in his sock to soak up the fluid. He spent 6 weeks in hospital and nearly had his foot amputated. No one from Belmont would talk to me when I took him to the hospital! I believe their attorneys forbid it when they screw up so badly. ***I would NEVER recommend this place.*** I was constantly having to have discussions with admin for poor service. Truly disgusting they would neglect their residents the way they did my dad.
