This brewery is connected to a pizza spot. It's a very spacious and chill spot. As weird as it sounds, sorta kid friendly. Lol. The brewery had a little imitation camp fire area with huge jenga blocks. There were a few kids that were around. They also had about 5 or more arcade machines. I initially went to try the pizza spot next door and ended up getting a beer. I tried one of their sours, jungalo juice. It was good. It had a great balance of fruitiness. Due to Covid, Arrow Lodge had a large tent in the parking lot with multiple tables to accommodate large or small groups. They had lots of heaters for chilly evenings too. There were also a few tables inside the tasting room. The tasting roomed is modeled like a camping lodge, and I would welcome drinking any of their beers in front of a roaring campfire. Their Camp Grounds Imperial Pastry Stout with vanilla would be perfect in that situation. It is one of the very few beers I've ever given 5 stars to on Untapped. Hubby and I were LOVING it! This place is so cool! I love the atmosphere and the decor and just the vibe over all. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and I wish I would have enjoyed any of the drinks but unfortunately none of these were hits for me. I'll definitely be back! Good to be back to an establishment I haven't visited in years... and I was reminded why I loved this brewery for so long! With an expanded area- with "camp" features, arcade games such as pinball, board games and the like-- Arrow Lodge is just as intriguing as I remember. The taps are on rotation- but instantly vibed with their Chanclaso, which was a light lager. I'll have to come back to try their other taps again; but they also sell their beers in cans to-go. There is plenty of seating, including bar, tabletop, and patio seating (which was wet from rain on our visit) so definitely feel like there is plenty to go around. The tap room is now connected to a pizza joint which was amazing (review to follow) and the service feels seemless from across the two establishments. Came here for the first time last Thursday after our community run. A nice little brewery locate in Covina off Arrow HWY and Grand. There are indoor and outdoor seating. I believe they are dog friendly because I see do people bring their furry friends to enjoy their drinks at the outdoor " grassy" patio. The inside has a unique decor around just like a camping lodge with few game stations. I am not a big beer drinker, so I ordered the Blueberry Berliner Weisse. It is more on a fruity side, which is perfect for my taste bud. They also have a selections on IPA beers if you're into a stronger taste. I've been to this brewery a handful of times and I recall the selection of beer being better a few years back. I went today with a friend and tried a few samples. Nothing really stood out to me. I typically like west coast style IPA's. The one on tap that I tried had an odd aftertaste. I ended up settling for a blonde (which I normally don't ever order/like) and my friend got a hazy. Another issue I had with this visit was the service. The lady that helped us seemed almost bothered by our questions. It wasn't busy at the time, so we weren't holding up a line or anything. She has served us before and her attitude always seems to be the same. Some big pluses are that the inside is quite spacious, plenty of seating, and there a few pinball games towards the entrance. Welcome to unique brewery visit #152! It's handy that Arrow Lodge Brewing, ALB, and another brewery, Alosta Brewing Co, ABC are within staggering distance of each other. ALB had a small outdoor seating area that looked like it was PC, or pre-covid, and also now had a tent set up in the parking lot that was PC, post-covid. Those abbreviations don't help much do they? Hmmm, how about PC for pre-covid and POGCRTC for post over-reaching government response to covid. Don't like that? Tough. It's my review. So anyway, we hit ALB up after the "other" brewery. My first thought on looking at the tap list was that almost everything had multiple additions such as hazelnut, etc. I started out with the blonde ale which was pretty good. I often think that breweries that have heavy additions to the beers are covering something up. SWPFTD and a couple others at our table thought the blonde had an odd aroma that just wasn't appealing, but didn't get that on the palate. I actually thought it was a pretty decent blonde. My sister called it a "stinky blonde" and said "no one likes a stinky blonde!" I'm not commenting on that. I also had the horchata milkshake IPA. Nice horchata aroma and flavor actually. This was pretty good overall. ALB was a good stop. They have a very cool camping vibe with a fake campfire inside. Well, my niece was convinced it was real a d tried to put it out before we left by dumping water on it. Yeah, that's my girl! ALB is worth a stop. I will stop back in for sure. Fly here like an arrow and lodge yourself in some solid brews. Arrow Lodge Brewing is a relatively small brewery in a nondescript area of Covina, CA. They recently gained my attention with a strong showing during a week of awesome craft beer events in Las Vegas. Shoutout to head brewer Amy and the owners whose faces I can't seem to link to names - surely not because of memory loss or anything - for making the trip out to us! I decided during a trip to SoCal that they weren't too far out of my way, so I stopped by in hopes of procuring a particular beer bottle. I don't know whether the rain kept people away, or it was a bit early in the afternoon but it was relatively quiet when I popped in not long after 1pm on a Saturday. I was more than happy to walk up to the bar and spend some time sipping on beer. They only had 8 beers on tap despite having far more taps available. I'm actually confused by their offerings because they either don't have flagships (aka year-round offerings) or have mysteriously run out of their 11 "most popular" beers, per info from a beer-related app which I use. I would have liked to see some of those offerings. Nonetheless, going with the 4 oz tasters ($2-$4 depending on which beer), I was able to try three beers that were new to me and the one familiar product which I'd been seeking out. Vienna Nights (a Vienna lager, natch) and Simpler Days (a pilsner) were both nice, easier-drinking beers. Happy Cal (a milk stout) is also a solid offering, with coffee-esque bitterness rather than sweetness. However, it was the Camp Grounds which was my prize. This new release is very reminiscent of hazelnut coffee, and it also came in bottles ($20.25/22oz). Score. Wine, coffee, and various snacks are available for those who don't want just beer. Merchandise is sold for those who really like the beer. Ample seating is available both inside (with lodge/cabin-esque decor) or outside (typical business park, as is the case with most breweries). Water is self-serve and in a somewhat hidden spot around the corner from the bar. They also have an arcade available (and a change-dispensing machine) which I actually haven't seen at other breweries. Restrooms are inside, toward the back. Hoping to see Arrow Lodge available in my area again, if not on a regular basis. They're not worldbeaters (yet), but they have solid beers throughout their lineup, including various IPAs of theirs which I enjoyed elsewhere. The 4 beers I tried were just ok, even the Ghost Haze double IPA seemed to be lacking something at the end to make the taste seem complete. My beer (Boomobap hazy) was good, but the bartender pictured ruined my experience. I went to Arrowlodge today for my first time. There wasn't any music playing so I walked up to the bar and asked the bartender if there was a jukebox. She said no and I said ok. As soon as I sat back down which was very close to the bar, I overheard the bartender say very loud with attitude to her friends sitting at the bar that even if there was a jukebox, she wouldn't play music for me because she was watching the football game and since she was the bartender she gets to do what she wants. She came off very rude and proud acting as if she was tough lol. This bartender does not care about the customers unless they are her friends because one of them actually agreed with me and told her she should play music and guess what? she immediately started playing music for her SMH What b**** I thought to myself. We've been wanting to check this place out for a while now, so we were excited to finally be able to visit for the first time last night. There were several beer options, but when we asked the lady at the bar which she recommended she seemed pretty annoyed. Her attitude pretty much killed the vibe for us. Our first stop of the night at Arrow Lodge Brewery and it was definitely a very worthy starter to a great night. They have a private lot, so plenty of parking. On the Saturday night we came, there was a food vendor in front. I think they don't have their own kitchen but they have food vendors who come by on Friday and Saturday night, so check their website if you want to inquire more about the food. The interior was on the intimate side. It was cozy with bar stools, community tables, board games, pin ball machines and merchandise. Despite walking into a long line, I felt like the cashier was very quick with the orders. We were at the front of the line by the time I decided what I wanted. Well I actually wanted a flight, cause I love getting a good variety to establish a fair opinion of a place... However on the night we came, they were not serving flights. Sigh... I had to narrow down my choices and went all in for the Happy Cal Milk Stout 5.5% abv ($6/16oz). It is a sweet stout with lactose and I really liked it. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the coffee notes in stouts. My buddy had the Sass Machine 7.7% abv ($7/12oz) cause he likes 'em sassy! Just kidding. He ordered the Sass Machine cause he likes IPAs and this one is a New England style double IPA with Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe notes. We both really enjoyed their beer here.
