    Haliya - Ale w/ Ube & Coconut!
    Kevin M.

This review is simply to highlight the Ube Beer that Ogopogo Brewing has on tap. Usually, we don't frequent the bar or brewery vendors at Haven City since we mostly come by to eat. This brewery is located between Taipei Noodle Shop and KZ Mori. The location has its own tables and seating with one TV showing sports. Ogopogo has many beers on tap and limited food items. It's a very quick service location and beer will be served instantly. Staff has always been very cool in a limited times I've visited. You can sample some options with the staff if you please. You can order 10oz and 16 oz beers and prices range from $5-7. The Haliya Beer on tap is an ale with Ube & Coconut. It's a unique flavor and on the sweet side. The deep purple color is truly Ube in a glass. It's a standout for me and personal favorite that'd I'd recommend if you like the Ube flavor and are open-minded to give it a sip, please TRY IT!. Thanks Ogopogo! ( ^_^)b

If you're looking to get your beer fix with some asian inspiration, look no further !! Ogopogo is serving up some pretty unique beers and i'm here for it. I'm sorta big fan of ube and pandan, so i was excited to see these ingredients on the menu board. I would definitely recommend anyone who has the same taste to give their ube beer and pandan beer a try. truly unique! you can also sample it, before you get it, just incase you're not really a fan. lol Lights are bright in this little corner, feels like they should be using some warm light to match the decor.

Say "Hell Ya" to that Haliyah Ube ale

All the great beer you know and love from the San Gabriel mothership of Ogopogo is right here at their Haven City Market outpost. The selection's solid, but do yourself a favor and grab a Haliyah Ube Ale or the Sharlie Hazy IPA--both absolute standouts. Plenty to choose from, whether you're chasing something crisp, juicy, or just weird in a fun way. There's also a cozy little seating area tucked away from the general chaos of the market--a small oasis of sanity amid the food court frenzy. As for the staff, friendliness levels can vary: sometimes you get a chatty beer sage, other times a grumpy pint dispenser. But hey, the beer's cold, the vibe's chill, and it's absolutely worth the stop.

This place is located inside the Haven City Market in West Covina. We came here after eating dinner. We got to try a few sample since they have seasonal items. I saw some unique flavors like lychee and rice lager which I want to try next. The price is pretty reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I want to give this place a 5 start but the lighting just threw me off. I prefer breweries to be cozy, homey, and a relaxing space but they used cool lights. It was not welcoming so I just wish they used warmer lights since they have a nice wall painting design. The drinks were really good! My so got the ube beer and you can really taste the ube that wasn't too overpowering. I got the strawberry beer and it was super refreshing.

A well curated selection of IPAs, lagers, to seltzers; these are tasty brews, with new additions always in rotation. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Love that you can chill indoors or sit outside at the dining hall's patio area.

The theming of this corner is so cute. Love the cryptid/mythological (?) theming that they have? It's very unique and I love the spooky and unknown. Also shout out to the staff that had Jurassic World playing while we were there. After a routine ID check, you can get 2 samples of what they have here. The ube brew that they have is actually a bit purple and has a pretty good ube taste without it being made too bitter by the beer (as I'm not a fan of alcohol in general). My boyfriend who doesn't like sweet things really liked the cup that he ordered, so it's a great balance of the two. There are some pre-packaged for you to take to go too!

    Ube dark ale

Tried the Haliya - Ube Dark Ale and it was one of the most unique flavors I've tasted. Their menu had a few other creative flavors that I need to come back and try. Service was good and quick with a knowledgeable staff and a cozy area to sit and talk. I'll be back to try the stouts.

    Mojito Seltzer

The prices for the drinks were not bad! The drink I got however, Mojito Seltzer, was just okay. If you are looking for seltzer options, they only have 2 both of which are 12% and 13%. Not a huge selection of items overall but the service was fast, the employee was nice & it was cool there was a brewing station in the HCMP.

I really like Ogopogo brewing in San Gabriel and was excited they were opening a tap room here in Haven City market food hall. So had to try when they opened. They don't offer tastings at this location for now. Today I had the Haliya which is an ale made with ube and coconut. If you are a fan of ube you might like it. I did. Parking for Haven is a bit crazy on the weekends.

Checked out Ogopogo today (Nov 16) and have to admit the staff noticeably addressed the comments. Their menu now showcases 2 samples per person, and the staff were super friendly and patient. This is especially encouraging and welcoming for people who may feel intimidated for being the infrequent or less educated enjoyer. I tried their Harmonia (mango wheat) and Drude (Marzen) but settled on the Haliya, an ube coconut mix - no thanks to a friend ordering the Harmonia. Both their Harmonia and Haliya are hits with me - unfortunate as this might start an expensive hobby. From passing conversations, they don't seem to have much on the darker side but have a good variety of lights and fruity. Overall would definitely recommend giving Ogopogo a try next time at Haven City Market.

    Alebrije & Becky IPA
    Band E.

Great brewery with excellent beer and outstanding customer service. The yucumama portion is small beware when you order it, its understandable because of the higher alcohol content (around 10.5%). The Alebrije beer is really good and a must-try. My husband prefers the Becky as he's an IPA drinker. Most importantly the staff is very knowledgeable and makes an effort to remember you as a person and even your go-to drink, which adds a nice personal touch.

I visited here recently and I am very glad that I did. I tried the prickly pear Paloma and ube ale. Both were very good and service was great. This makes me want to visit their larger brewery in San Gabriel. Thank you!

    Cheers!

Loved their brew with coconut! Thank you Gin for introducing me to their brew. A luscious sort of velvety allure to this particular pour. Not too hoppy with the perfect citrus to touch of sweet finish. Loved that hit of coconut. On an empty stomach two of these bad boys can getcha! Located inside haven city market from the main entrance head towards the left it'll be all the way in the back tucked in the corner. Great staff! Nice designated seating area and bar, bright and welcoming. Definitely will be back to try more of what they have offer.

I've never had an unfiltered sake like that. The beers were also good, and I loved the oolong island with its aromas of peach and tea. The sparkling sakes were good as well, but I preferred the regular signature ones. We also got a cup of the sake kasu ice cream, which was really interesting! It has a rich, yeasty, almost cheesy flavor (which sounds weird, but I really enjoyed it). Overall, it's a great spot. We also brought our dinner to eat alongside the tasty drinks, so it's a nice place to hang out if you want a casual drink. Will definitely be back!

As I pulled up to the parking lot, I noticed they had an outdoor seating area, which is really nice on hot days. It looked like a great spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a drink in the evening. When I went inside, I immediately liked the camping and outdoor vibes. The whole place has that rustic, lodge-style feel that makes it stand out. They had a bunch of pinball machines, which was a fun surprise, and there were murals all around the walls -- including ones of Lakers legend Kobe and the LA Dodgers. It definitely gives off strong local pride and a laid-back atmosphere. The inside is very spacious, with plenty of room to move around and a lot of TV screens, making it a solid spot to catch a game. I could easily see myself coming back to watch a Dodgers game there. That said, my experience at the bar wasn't the best. When I stepped into line to order, it seemed like the two beertenders were a bit distracted. There was a group of ladies sitting at the bar, and it felt like they were getting most of the attention. Usually, beertenders are welcoming and might ask something like, "Is this your first time here?" but the guy with the long mustache who served me gave off more of a "What do you want?" vibe. I asked for a taster, and he did provide one, but I didn't feel comfortable enough to ask to try anything else. At other breweries, I usually feel encouraged to explore the menu a bit more. Instead, I just winged it and ordered the Pink Lemonade Seltzer. It was okay, but compared to a lot of seltzers out there now, it wasn't very flavorful. It almost had a slight medicine-like taste. Because I didn't really feel the love from the beertenders, I ended up having just one drink and heading out. The space itself has a lot going for it -- great theme, fun games, plenty of TVs, and nice outdoor seating -- but I definitely think there's room for improvement in the customer service department. I might give it another try in the future, especially to catch a Dodgers game, but I'm hoping for a warmer, more welcoming experience next time.
