Sake tasting with cheese pairing and beer tasting
    Jenny Y.

The sakes and beers are fun! Trying to find this place was not fun! The cheese pairing with the sakes/beers was...meh. But all in all, I will definitely be back in the future but will bring food.

I had never tried sake before so a friend recommended I come check this place out. When I think brewery I think high energy and loud but Nova feels more like an upscale wine bar. The ambiance is relaxed and calm, really a perfect place for date night or a chill friend hang where you could just chat for hours (especially since they allow outside food). When I got there I was greeted by the bartender Sam and one of the brewers Zack, both were friendly and excited that it was my first time trying sake. Sam explained everything to me and helped me pick what I wanted for my flights, and he also gave me samples to try a couple more things. It was nice to have someone help tailor the tasting to exactly what I told them I typically enjoy. You could tell the employees are really passionate about what they do and are proud of their product. Everything tasted fantastic, I was blown away by the Doburoku, it was unlike anything I've ever had before and something I really want to have again! If you're a sake newb like me or a long time fan I highly recommend checking Nova out for a really unique experience.

Interesting spot - tucked in a business-y type complex with a gate to enter the parking lot. They have a sign in front to call for access to enter through the gate. Once you get in, the brewery is on the right hand side a few feet down. The vibes were very chill with dim lighting and a few seating areas. Server was friendly and offered us recommendations and a sample of sake too. We brought our own charcuterie plate and fruits to snack on - highly recommend as they will recommend pairings with your snacks! Very unique with sake tastings since we aren't big beer fans.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this brewery. The place itself is behind a gate so you have to be buzzed in. It's a hidden gem for sure. We tried the hatsukoi, sparkling cherry sake and the ooglong island beer. Everything was delicious and different than the usual breweries I go to. I loved the uniqueness and the space. The service was good. There was one person running the show and he was great. I have already told family members and friends about this spot. I will definitely visit again!

If you enjoy sake, enter at your own risk: this place has ruined other, inferior sake for me. If it's your first time, ordering a flight is the way to go. I've enjoyed every style and flavor I've tried, but Eclipse was the real standout for me. It's perhaps the most fresh and "pure" tasting alcoholic beverage I've ever had. I'm ordinarily skeptical of flavored sake, but the ones at Nova are excellent. The first time I visited, I had a long conversation with the bartender about the care they take throughout the brewing process, which is evident in the final product. I haven't tried their beer yet, but I can only imagine that its is high quality as well. Overall, I can't recommend Nova enough. It's probably good I don't live nearby or I would be there all the time!

A hidden gem We wanted to try new things and decided to come to sample their sake. This a small little place full of flavor. My favorite one was Doburoku unfiltered sake, creamy custard flavor. We also like gravity, not your typical sake, pleasantly refreshing and delicious. The host was very nice and knowledgeable of the process. I would definitely come back !!

Sake and beer!! The spot is located in a gated business park. There's a number posted on the side that you call and they'll let you in. I've been to this spot twice now and my favorites so far are the Doburoku, mango Doburoku, and oolong beer. I personally love unfiltered sakes. You can bring outside food, which is nice to catch up with friends. It's a chill and small spot with a few long tables. One of my favorite spots to stop by when I'm in the area.

I have been meaning to come to Nova for some time. They are the only Sake brewing company I am aware of in SoCal. We had to call to them to get the front gate opened. I ordered the sake flight which had 6 glasses. It was plenty to drink for a tasting. I particularly liked the cherry flavored one, peach flavored one & the unfiltered one. All of the sake is cold and they were all smooth. I bought two bottles to take home. Unfortunately they were out of the cherry. Next time, I will try the beer flight and get a bottle of the cherry Sake. They allow you to bring outside food so we got takeout dinner and enjoyed it with our sake and beer.

Attended this location through a Yelp event. Did not even know there was a Sake brewery so close, let alone one of such great Sake. The owner and his staff gave us an amazing presentation and tour. We tried 3 different Sake and a sake wine?? My favorite was the Gravity which was a traditional Sake and was able to try a rarity to me the Doburoku are milky looking Sake with particles of rice still in it, what a treat. The ambiance was of a small family run sake house. Definitely telling my friends about this gem.

I came here via Justin's recommendation, and he let me sample different drinks. I can't exactly remember everything but all I know is that I really only liked the drink that I ordered because it was fruity. I got the Momo. It was fragrant, and I loved the fruitiness of it. I think maybe I lack the knowledge and expertise to be able to judge the drinks themselves, because none of them really appealed to me. However, the sake taste was a new experience. The plum wine was okay, but very different from what I'm used to. The inside is very cozy though. It would be perfect for smaller groups. The coolest thing about this place is the story of how it came to be!

Friend of mine loves sake and I wanted to gift him something special. Searching the internet lead me here,to Nova Brewing. The story was inspiring and interesting and compelled me to take a deeper dive. The brewery,in close proximity to where I live was an ever better incentive to check out this hidden gem. Tucked away in a business park, the brewery overall was a great experience. The staff person who was there was so very helpful and knowledgeable and made me feel welcomed. We ordered the the flight sampler of both sake and beer. All offerings were great tasting and enjoyable. I ended up buying a couple of bottles of sake for my friend and am curious to hear what he has to say. I loved what I sampled. I will definitely be back.

I gotta be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with Nova's Ginjo 7 beer. In fact, it was take a 4pk to go good. Accessing this place is a bit unconventional, it's almost like a speakeasy access but with an urban twist. You call up and they open the gates. Anyways, the brews deliver. Their Ginjo 7 is such a rich blonde ale, wow! The service was top notch too. Overall it's a solid brewery with outstanding beer. Will come again.

If you can't decide between sake or beer... why not try both??? This place has a gorgeous selection of sake yeast beer, sake, and, oh, I almost forgot... they make their own PLUM WINE! It is a tad different to find and the hours are select. When you arrive, they're will be a gate with a phone number. Call it and say the "secret not so secret" password under the phone number to enter

We wondered what would happen if it didn't sell--where would we go? And if it did sell, what if the new owners changed the shop in ways we didn't love?
