    BBQ walk thru restaurant

Loved it, drive thru or walk thru only. Food was dynamite! Fast, good service and food was so good.

    This is the Thunder Tots

Since moving to Hodgenville Kentucky, I can not get enough of Arrowhead BBQ. The food is awesome, the people are always friendly and welcoming. I have only tried 2 different plates so far, but I have to say the thunder tots is my favorite. Who doesn't love tater tot's. I have tried the loaded tater and it is good as expected. And the portions are very fulfilling. The price is in about the middle range and I know the price just went up, cause supplies have gone up. I do highly recommend stopping by on Thursday thru Sunday if you are in the area.

Delicious country getaway. The pulled pork was tender and moist, brisket was done well with crispy pieces but not dry, and the ribs were fall off the bone but firm the way they should be. The sides were served nice and warm, and the plate price is reasonable. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a BBQ/archery range, lots of cedar trim and deer mounts. Very clean and service was on point. The only thing missing was the liquor license. But who needs a bunch of liquored up archers?

BBQ pulled pork , Texas toast with my choice of two sides, deviled eggs and cooked cabbage

On the day we went(June 18,2016) we didn't smell the BBQ cooking a mile away ( as their sign indicates in a humorous fashion) but we were extremely intrigued to eat here because of their logo/sign. There was three of us and we were hungry! The waitress couldn't have been any nicer and took time to tell us about the BBQ and side items . She frequently checked on us . It's been a long time since we had seen a waitress this attentive and paid attention to detail. She was a gem! We all three had their pulled pork platter ( with your choice of two sides). The pork was a generous amount and very tender! I found no fat in mine and that was wonderful not having to pick out fat! My sides were deviled eggs and cooked cabbage. Both were delicious! My father chose for his sides, potato salad and baked beans. I tasted his, and the beans were very good, and the potato salad had a nice taste but I didn't care for the texture of the potatoes . I can't help but wonder if they were canned potatoes ? I prefer fresh peeled and boiled potatoes for my potato salad , but everyone has different taste and likes. My sister chose slaw, she really liked it, but I never got around To taste it. Over all, we very happy with our meal and will eat there again the next time we are in town.

    Their rather odd logo.

Can you do the archery as well? If so, how much is it and do they supply the bows and arrows?

It smelled great and the food we seen delivered to other tables also looked great. We got a sample platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were over cooked and chewy and the brisket was a lot of fat. The sides were just ok. Maybe it was just an off day for them because I see a lot of great reviews. We stopped in later in the evening so that may be the reason the meats were off. Again, not thrilled with our meal here, but may give them another chance earlier in the day.

My son and I both wanted to try the brisket so he got the platter and I chose the sandwich. I was told they make most of the sides that aren't fried options such as tater tots, which I was happy about. They had the classic barbecue sauce on the table as well as a spicy option. Both were equally delicious. My sandwich came on Texas toast, which is a fave. The portions were a great value as they do not skimp! The fried potatoes are made in house and they were delicious. Even though they don't make the onion rings in house they were also quite good. My one disappointment was, they don't make the majority of their desserts. And the menu states that their daughter-in-law Kayle makes different desserts daily and they didn't have that. They were actually out of several desserts, which was disappointing. Since the only ones they had were not ones made in house I chose to not get one. Since we live 3 1/2 hours away I guess I'll have to give it another shot for the dessert option next time around. Overall, the place was terrific and the folks were friendly. They have a salad bar in the middle of the floor, which is a nice touch. They have a very laid-back atmosphere and it is definitely family friendly. And you definitely get good size portions for the money.

Easily as good, and likely better than the majority of restaurants in Kansas City. For a town this size the food is at the top of its game. The seasoned fries are served in neat old time, but decently sized paper fry pocket. The pear and blue cheese side salad was good although a little bitter. I did see things in there that are usually removed by Roundup but that's the trend nowadays. What makes this place special and rise above the usual BBQ? Well Bells two hearted is a good start. It's extra special when they seek out craft brews. It's spotless inside. The tables have warped tops so be careful when placing a full glass down. The food was up in minutes, the service is very friendly and the family vibe adds to the overall experience. Prices are a lot lower than I expected. It's truly a great value. The is easily the best place in town. We wished we could have tried other things but the portions are hearty and this may explain why they don't sell desserts. Lots of easy parking outside too.

The restaurant was somewhat empty when I arrived but it can definitely house a large group of people if needed. The ambiance is very causal and welcoming. The food came out quickly. I did enjoy my food, but the chicken was a bit dry and lacked something maybe some seasoning or needing something pickled. Regardless, I ate it all, the collard greens tasted good but way better in some vinegar. Overall, the experience was good and I enjoyed my food. I'm thankful I found something to eat in this town outside of fast or fried food. Maybe next time I'll try their ribs or wings, depending what it's fried in.
