I am overdue in writing this review. I love their food. Everything is so delicious . They often run specials and those are often even better than the regular menu items. They also have innovative items on their menu using ingredients like tater tots and baked potatoes. All their side items are completely delicious as well. Their macaroni and cheese is so old school and wonderful. Brisket is probably my favorite and they only use the best grade of meat they possibly can find. Their pies are as good as your old southern grandmother made for the holidays! Everyone who works here is so nice and helpful. They do catering as well. The one thing I hate is that they are only open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays. read more

I'm telling you, you've got to stop here. Some of the best BBQ we've had by a long shot. Definitely best in Kentucky. Most BBQ restaurants have good meat and bad sides or vise versa, but here both are incredible. It's family run and they're a pleasure to talk to. They don't have a dining area (it's drive thru and carry out) but there's some covered picnic tables outside you can sit at. We've passed this place driving to the lake for years and are disappointed in ourselves for not stopping sooner. read more

I ordered catering from Arrowhead for a family gathering of about 35 people last weekend. A family member picked up the food so I cannot comment on their delivery service. However, the food was outstanding! I ordered a 1/2 pan of pulled pork, a 1/2 pan of pulled chicken, a full pan of baked beans, a full pan of potato salad, and a 1/2 pan of coleslaw. Every single dish was perfect. The meats were tender and flavorful, even without the homemade BBQ sauce. But, the hot BBQ sauce was the best! The sides were all great and there many, many compliments on all of it. The folks at Arrowhead were great to work with and charged a fair price. I will definitely use them again for family gatherings - or weeknight dinners. You won't be disappointed! read more

Now, living in the sticks has its advantages, especially in these days and times. However, one of them is not the limited array, if any, of food delivery options. So we were super happy to hear that Arrowhead Barbecue delivered in our area. We were starving last night and had other stuff going on that day at the house that precluded us from driving 15 minutes into town to pick it up. So we placed an order for a sampler platter and an order of Thunder Tots. The owner advised us that because the sampler platter contained ribs, it might be a little minute until the next order of ribs will be ready, as they cook them for 6 hours each day before they're ready. But we were more than happy to wait a little extra time for that extra barbecue goodness. Lo and behold, the order actually arrived a bit earlier than originally planned and the order was delivered by the owner himself; I'm assuming because it was towards the end of the day. Upon opening each of the four containers, we were shocked and awed by the sheer array of food and the generousness of each portion. At first we thought he had included two extra pulled pork sandwiches by accident, but it turns out that was the brisket and the pulled pork that went along with the platter. There was enough food, no lie, to feed three, maybe four, people with healthy appetites. Definitely a repeat meal is in order! Each of the barbecue meats was very well seasoned and tender. We had roast chicken, brisket, pulled pork and ribs. We had a side of a fully loaded baked potato and baked beans. The Thunder Tots were delicious and also topped with a hearty load of pulled pork and savory sauces. Needless to say, both the hubs and I were very pleased with everything we got and then some. And I have, at the very least, lunch for both of us still today. Thank y'all so much for a delicious dinner and we look forward to many more orders from your fabulous barbecue joint! read more

Since moving to Hodgenville Kentucky, I can not get enough of Arrowhead BBQ. The food is awesome, the people are always friendly and welcoming. I have only tried 2 different plates so far, but I have to say the thunder tots is my favorite. Who doesn't love tater tot's. I have tried the loaded tater and it is good as expected. And the portions are very fulfilling. The price is in about the middle range and I know the price just went up, cause supplies have gone up. I do highly recommend stopping by on Thursday thru Sunday if you are in the area. read more

Easily one of the best. BBQ joints in the world! Very large portions, Brisket was unbelievable! Mac n cheese and potato salad were fabulous. Place is a little odd and way out of the way but so worth the search. I ate at Martins in Nashville the next day and this place was sooo much better in every food category. It's drive through only but we walked up and ate at picnic tables they have out front. The couple running the place were super nice and friendly. The location is near the Split Log Distillery so if you're doing the bourbon tour you will be in the neighborhood. Don't miss it! Looks a bit sketchy from the road but trust me it is not. read more

Delicious country getaway. The pulled pork was tender and moist, brisket was done well with crispy pieces but not dry, and the ribs were fall off the bone but firm the way they should be. The sides were served nice and warm, and the plate price is reasonable. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a BBQ/archery range, lots of cedar trim and deer mounts. Very clean and service was on point. The only thing missing was the liquor license. But who needs a bunch of liquored up archers? read more

I travel back and forth from Chicago to a number of locations in Alabama. My oldest son wanted me to pickup some "good" BBQ ribs on the way back. I directed, by a friend, to stop off at Arrowhead BBQ and pickup the best ribs that I will ever have. Though is added ~30 min to my trip, I did so. I informed the individuals that were at the location that I wanted to pick up some ribs for my family, but I still had about 6-7hr drive left. They were wonderful, I provided an empty cooler and they carefully packed 2 slabs of ribs with 1 hot and 1 regular BBQ sauce, as well as informed me on how to properly re-warm the ribs. When I got home, my family and I ate the BEST ribs and BBQ sauce that we have every had. Fall off the bone, awesome! On the day we went(June 18,2016) we didn't smell the BBQ cooking a mile away ( as their sign indicates in a humorous fashion) but we were extremely intrigued to eat here because of their logo/sign. There was three of us and we were hungry! The waitress couldn't have been any nicer and took time to tell us about the BBQ and side items . She frequently checked on us . It's been a long time since we had seen a waitress this attentive and paid attention to detail. She was a gem! We all three had their pulled pork platter ( with your choice of two sides). The pork was a generous amount and very tender! I found no fat in mine and that was wonderful not having to pick out fat! My sides were deviled eggs and cooked cabbage. Both were delicious! My father chose for his sides, potato salad and baked beans. I tasted his, and the beans were very good, and the potato salad had a nice taste but I didn't care for the texture of the potatoes . I can't help but wonder if they were canned potatoes ? I prefer fresh peeled and boiled potatoes for my potato salad , but everyone has different taste and likes. My sister chose slaw, she really liked it, but I never got around To taste it. Over all, we very happy with our meal and will eat there again the next time we are in town. read more

This place just seems completely out in it's own world. Service was lightning fast. The ribs, pulled pork, cabbage, green beans, and bbq sauce were amazing. The Mac and cheese and devilled were just ok. Nothing special. Nanner pudding was excellent. I am still thinking about that pulled pork. read more

Plenty of friendly staff to help take your order. Food was pre-cooked, hence the lighting speed service. Sent my baked potato (which was my entree $6.99) back because it was cold in the center. They were out of deviled eggs. The table behind us ordered a plain baked potato. They were out. I was supposed to get the meat of my choice on my loaded baked potato. Never got that option. Our bill was not delivered to our table so we had to wait in line to pay. Only advice is to show up early. read more

Stopped by a couple of weeks ago. Because of Covid there was only pickup and delivery. I was in a hurry, so I ordered the family pack. BBQ, 2 sides and buns at the drive thru. I was told to pull up, park and the order would be brought out to me. I waited 20 minutes with a multitude of other orders being filled during the wait. I walked to the window and waited to be noticed. Someone finally stuck her head out the door. I asked about my order. She said it would be right out. Another 10 minutes, I went to the window again. This time a man who I believe to be the owner was getting in his car to make a delivery. When he saw me, he got out of his car and asked "What is your problem." I told him I had waited 30 minutes for a pre-prepared order. He told me there were other BBQ restaurants and I should go there. I was dumbfounded. He then asked if I wanted my money back. I told him I would rather have my food. Then a young man came out, shoved cash in my hand and stomped back in. I told the owner I had never had a manager/owner ask what my problem was and that he wouldn't be business long if he continued. read more
