What I thought I was ordering

This place is very hit or miss I think unfortunately they have a lot of highschoolers working here or maybe college age kids You order and you don't get the drinks until at least your food arrives and then you wait some more and you still haven't gotten them. They forget items they don't come to check on you and then they want 20 to 30% for a tip and then when you finally leave the tip, you haven't even put the cash tip down and they're already coming to take it And in all my years of restaurant dining, I've never seen the server lean over you to come and take the cash tip And our drink cups are empty. We don't have boxes to take our food home. Just crazy. This is being left after three times of dining here with very similar experiences each time three times within the last two weeks I know it's hard to get decent employees when you're paying minimum wage and you're working off of tips, but they need to get people that I think are a little older

I was here for a wedding and overall the venue and outdoor view is great. The catered food was also not bad. I was expecting it to be cheap but they beat expectations for wedding food. I'll come here for golf one day. It is hard for me to rate the whole facility on just a wedding event so I'll update this to 5 stars if I enjoy the golf experience. Quality- I had three plates of food. The first run of food was the best and each one after had chicken and beef that was over cooked and dry. I liked the beef the most. It was well cooked and the beef had nice marbling that gave it a lot of flavor. The mashed potatoes were also very good. Quantity- all you can eat and I didn't have to pay for it so idk what the wedding cost is. Atmosphere- very clean with lots of sunlight. Good wedding venue Service- it's top notch. Expected nothing less from a country club

I recently had my wedding here after a 2 year delay and 3 reschedules/cancellations. I ended up working with Lauren and Olivia and they were fantastic. Lauren truly thought of EVERYTHING and showed how incredibly knowledgeable, skilled and passionate she us about her field. Everything ran without a hitch and was perfect. We had our ceremony outdoors and it was beautiful and well coordinated. The bridal suite was perfect for what we needed, and the space was simple, elegant and well maintained which is exactly what we needed. Our guests loved the food and the balconies were a beautiful spot to escape to. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Arrowhead and how they supported us throughout pandemic wedding planning. It is a beautiful spot with even better service.

We mainly just explored the Children's Garden area. Thankfully, there are bathrooms nearby. They were clean. And there was a vendor selling snacks outside (and yummy sangria) so I bought some there and didn't bother with the indoor restaurant. I would recommend if you're going with Young ones, to bring a stroller!! Children 3 and under are free admission. Tickets are a couple dollars cheaper if purchased online. I paid $25 for adult admission. We would have liked to take the tram around, but I didn't realize it only runs a couple of times and sells out quickly. So if you're interested in the tram ride, buy tickets when you first get there. My daughter loved the rope bridge/tree house area. Definitely a place to add into your rotation of places to go, especially if you have kids that love being outside in nature.

I recently attended a tour of the Arboretum via a small (10 people) van tour from another Chicago metro area community about 45 minutes from the location. Of course, it is very different; there is a sit-down restaurant with very good food, The menu is on their webpage. There is also a carry-out location very near the restaurant. There is also a gift/book shop near the entrance. The choices made by the buyer are truly one of a kind and in the best of taste. There are ample visitor facilities and places to sit down. I do not think that there were any special events taking place and if they do there appears to be ample parking which includes chargers for electric cars. Some of the facilities associated with the Arboretum are not close to the visitors' center but closer to the entrance/exit. The walking paths are do-able for hardy folks as well as those who are not. Lots of kids and parents were present, all having a great time. The tram is highly recommended as it gives a one of a kind look at the Arboretum, its past and its future and our driver/guide was terrific. The cost is $10 for non-members, and well worth it. As I am an infrequent visitor I would not be a good candidate for a membership; if I lived closer to the site and were a frequent visitor the cost-savings for an Arboretum membership would be a nice savings I think. Lastly there was a bit of confusion about the admission pricing for our group; our trip organizers may have been quoted one price, and we were charged another upon arrival at the entrance to the Arboretum. We were paying per attendee not as a group, so perhaps that is where the confusion began. Perhaps pre-payment is preferred here. Group sales for the Arboretum would be able to clarify this I am sure.

Wine service was non-existent - a single pour and the bar staff disappeared yet I paid a pretty penny to have consistent wine service for dinner. The staff decided to take down table arrangements and all other decorations a solid hour and a half before the end of the event. They literally reached over guests conversing at tables to remove the center pieces. I could keep adding things which occurred but I think you get the overall incompetence and unprofessionalism of the evening When I spoke to management about my disappointment I was informed me that nothing they had done impacted my guests enjoyment and they did not understand why I felt they had not delivered what had been promise/presented at the tasting. They even tried to gaslight me that certain events had not occurred despite the fact that I had been there and witnessed them happening.
