This place is a really great restaurant so don't wait for a wedding reception to check it out. They have a full bar so it's also a nice place to go watch a game. The nachos are delicious. Their soups are all made from scratch and the fish is always fresh. You also can't go wrong with their burgers. My personal fav is the buffalo burger. Stop by sometime to check it out. They're rarely busy and it's one of the nicer places in Wheaton for dinner. read more

Alexis and the team at Arrowhead were great to work with! We booked our wedding rehearsal dinner at Arrowhead in the Clock Tower Room. Alexis was very helpful throughout the planning process and very accommodating with decoration setup for our special day. The food was great and everyone really enjoyed themselves! The only point of confusion was around the timing of our open bar, which ended up costing us a bit more than expected, but they did make an attempt to resolve the issue. I highly recommend this venue for your next event, but would recommend triple checking the paperwork and confirm the plans to ensure everything goes as expected. Best value in the Chicago area for golf. the 3 9's give you some options for variety. The times I've played, there hasn't been an issue with the pace of play at all. Course is fairly well maintained. My only gripe is the driving range is off of mats. read more

I had my wedding at Arrowhead a week ago and am still hearing compliments on the Venue, food, etc. I personally dont have one bad thing i could say about the staff, the venue, or the service included. Across the board, they nailed everything. Kristina & Jaci (event coordinators) were available for all my questions while in the planning phases and were around to make sure the actual day of went well! Even with horrible rain clouds moving in, the staff had a backup plan to make sure everything went smooth. I loved that Arrowhead hosted a "bridal expo" for already signed couples about six months or so before the wedding. It helped you narrow down appetizers, deserts, wines and late night snack options. I also LOVE that theres only one wedding per night. You're not cramped into the venue with another party and get to hog the whole space to yourselves. Highly recommend!! read more

Can't believe it's a public course. Great patio area.

This review is for the cross country skiing. I went out there a couple of years back and it's a wonder I didn't break an ankle. Everyone kept raving about their waxless skis--but just because you DON'T wax them, doesn't mean they are waxless. I had about 3-4 inches of snow unevenly distributed to the bottom of my skis throughout the whole time I was trying to ski. It clings to the wood rather than sliding off if they were waxed and so it makes it a challenge to even stand on them, let alone ski. I've cc skied in other places but would never come back here. It's a broken ankle waiting to happen. I get that they want to figure out a way to generate revenue in the winter, but perhaps snowshoeing is the way to go. read more

I was highly recommended this place by a states attroney, we were 4 minutes behind because the food cart lady was grabbing something for us, when we get to the ranger he pretty much yelled at us like we were children. Then on top on that some brunette lady took every chance to yell at us and for petty things. I wasnt golfing just a driver and she yelled at me for not having the "right" shoes...I was in the cart 95% of the time. I will not be going back because of those employees. The only nice employees were Ken and Raz they made me laugh and checked to see how we were doing. I will also not refer anyone to here and be telling my friend the states attorney about my awful experience. It was unfortunate. read more

Very disappointed with the golf rangers! I am an occasional golfer. Had a bad day! Lots of lost balls, etc. My bad! We invited two foursomes to play through. That wasn't good enough apparently! The rangers rode our tails. First it was a nice reminder to move along. Then we were stalked! Ranger sitting just behind us, saying nothing. I finally invited one of them to come hit my ball for me it was getting so bad. Will never go back to golf here again. Sorry! I paid the same price as everyone else. Calling all golf-lovers...you absolutely must check this place out! I took lessons here this past Spring with Billy (the golf pro) and I highly recommend him. I have had private lessons elsewhere, but group lessons with Billy are the way to go. I'll still need a lot more practice before my golf skills are up to par (I'm funny), but at least I know the correct way to swing and putt, as well as the basics regarding equipment and rules of the game. My group consisted of seven other women, who, like me, were relatively new to the game. No embarrassment here. The classes fill up quickly, so sign up at least a few weeks ahead of time. Billy also gives private lessons for the more advanced golfers (at a much higher rate). I've never golfed on the course, so I can't give an opinion other than that it looks beautiful. The driving range at Arrowhead is mats-only, and the beautiful setting makes it my favorite driving range in the area (St. Andrews is good too though.) Even if you are not a golfer, I highly recommend checking out the beautifully renovated restaurant/bar (American Grill). When the weather is nice, ask to be seated on the patio (which overlooks the golf course/driving range). I recommend the grilled chicken pesto salad - delish! On Thursday nights, the place really comes alive with a live band. After a few drinks you might even find yourself dancing! I've heard the Sunday brunch buffet is amazing - can't wait to check it out! If someone has been to Arrowhead for a wedding and/or a shower (post-renovations), I would love to hear your thoughts! read more

I used to LOVE the restaurant at Arrowhead. Perfect place for lunch during the work week, a meal after golf, or the weekend brunch. However, when they re-opened for lunch in mid-March under new management there were drastic changes - their food and their menu. They removed some of my favorite menu items and everything I've had there since (about 3 times) has been "Meh." Today we had the perch fish fry. You couldn't taste the fish at all - just the cornmeal breading they used. Their salads generally always have too much dressing. The service is hit or miss. They all seem to be running around and trying hard but you're often left without drink refills or silverware or condiments. Last time we were there, my co-worker was missing chicken from his "Shanghei Chicken Salad." He told our server who said, "actually, can you tell my manager, he's right there" (and pointed his manager out to us). I do love the location and atmosphere of the restaurant. I would just love for them to have a better menu (more inspired choices) and better tasting food. read more

My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at Arrowhead. Our ceremony was outside and highly recommend using the outside ceremony space. The whole night went without flaw, and the staff goes above and beyond to make it your special day. Special thanks to Kristina as she made sure to keep in contact with us throughout the whole planning stages. She offers great advice about all things wedding and made it very easy to plan everything. The venue itself is beautiful, and we really enjoyed having the whole top level to just our wedding. The food was amazing, and got many compliments on people who chose the vegetarian option, which was a vegetable lasagna. The chef challenges his staff to come up with a vegetarian dish that will impress him, the best dish is the one that will be served, which is a very neat concept, and our guests were left satisfied! One of the primary reasons we chose Arrowhead was the big dance floor to accommodate all of our guests. We loved the layout of the room and the 3 separate balconies. Quite a nice bar area. Adult 40-something crowd, which is nice. No college kids doing shots when I went. There was an accoustic band playing, which was just loud enough to enjoy, but didn't require me having to yell to have a conversation. We live very close and we've eaten there several times. I've always been very happy with the food and service, but it's seemed both have slipped. The menu seems like it has lost some imagination, filet sliders have been replaced by steak sliders which were tough. Beer menu seems not as broad. Pork chops that I had were a bit dry. And the free grilling lessons by the chef on the weekends during the summer are fantastic! Cannot speak to the golf here but as a wedding venue, Arrowhead, from the vantage point of Mother of the Bride, was perfect. With rain clouds threatening, the ceremony was moved indoors and was elegant and intimate leaving no disappointment that it couldn't be held outdoors. Arrowhead did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding on August, 25th. Kristina and the Arrowhead staff far exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was set up beautifully, they hit all the details. The cocktail hour was wonderful and dinner was delicious. We had Milk & Cookies and Pizza as late night snacks and they were a HUGE hit!! Most importantly the party was so fun! We had many people come and tell us this was one of the best weddings they had been to. Everything was coordinated so well and it went just the way we wanted. Kristina spent a lot of time with us before the wedding and did a great job responding to questions quickly during the process. Overall, Arrowhead did a FANTASTIC JOB with our wedding. Arrowhead is a beautiful place to hold a reception and ceremony. We had our ceremony in the main ballroom and it still looked great despite being inside. The prices are a bit high, but that is to be expected with the location and type of venue. One thing that I loved about it is that they only hold one wedding per night, unlike many hotels, etc. The inside and outside areas are all great too for pictures. Kristina and Jaci were great and easy to work with and always responded in a timely manner to any of my million questions. Food and drink selections are good too and we loved the food! read more

Let me say this we lived in Warrenville and drove down Butterfield Road frequently passing Arrowhead all the time and the parking lot was always packed (even in the off season). We decided let's check this place out, we both don't golf but since it was packed even in the off season we had to check it out. First time going was not the best night to go, Friday night and the Cubs game was on in the bar. We waiting for first available seating and we were seated in the bar. We ordered the Korean Tacos and Bacon Wrapped Beef Tenderloins and both selections were excellent. We were impressed with the food not so much the atmosphere but wanted to come back during the day so we could view the grounds. We have been back several times and we have recommended Arrowhead to our family and friends. Enjoy! read more

We recently held a bridal shower in the beautiful Sunroom of Arrowhead. I am still getting calls and emails on what an amazing shower it was. Our server, Nico, was exceptional. I so so love this golf course. It feels like a Country Club and is beautiful from the clubhouse all the way to the tee boxes fairways and greens but it is a public course. The people are super nice and accommodating and the food is delicious. On top of all that, the amenities and pro shop are the best around. Carol, Matt, Andrew and the rest of the people in the pro shop are very helpful and help me get a prized club back that I thought was gone forever. Great job arrowhead, keep it up! read more

This is an excellent course, challenging and beautiful. Favorite course. Very well maintained. Driving range updated, golfer outdoor patio, tables/umbrellas added. Greens typically fast, true, and a little tricky (fun). Three 9 hole course, all different. Traps drain and updated with new sand. Great landscaping and vistas. Great sports bar and outdoor patio. My wife and I had our wedding showere here and could not have asked for a better place! The views of the golf course from the second floor were incredible and the food was pretty good. Just to split hairs, it would have been nice to throw in a round of golf for 2 with the wedding shower as a "thank you" to the bride/groom. This is a great place for lunch as well! read more

Took my dad and family out for an early Father's Day celebration, and we had a table on the patio, which had a great view. Service was a bit spotty to start, and we attributed it our server getting a few tables at once. No worries; we weren't in a hurry. A forgotten drink, one meal and tots that came out after every one was done, and two more forgotten drinks had us more than a little irked, which was disappointing as the food and the atmosphere were really good. Spoke to the manager Bob afterward. He addressed our concerns, alerted us to what caused the situation and importantly what he is doing to fix going forward. Invited us to come back, and ask for him. We will. The food and venue are great, and clearly management is focused on ensuring customers are happy. We will go back. read more

This review is particular to Mother's Day brunch. We ate here yesterday during the afternoon seatings. The food was at best average. Given the price of $44.95 per person plus an automatic 20% gratuity I would have hoped for a lot better. I've had better brunches at about half the price. In general I like this place because of other menu items, I wish we would have come later and just had dinner. $107 for mostly breakfast items for two people is simply not worth it. read more

We celebrated a 40th Birthday party here over the weekend. We were able to reserve an 18 person table in the main dining room--as we wanted the energy of a "public" space as opposed to a private room. The staff was very, very helpful in setting out decorations, a special tablecloth and a centerpiece in advance of our arrival--the service was awesome; our server Mark was fun and efficient. I was a wedding guest at Arrowhead this past month. Normally I don't write reviews but my experience there was so bad, I just had to write something. The guests were served prime rib that looked delicious for the most part. I however, received an end cut that was as dry and hard as a piece of leather. When I politely complained to our waiter I was given a slight dirty look and told that was all there was. I guess thanks to my complaint, that was the last time anyone at the table anyone received anymore drinks or water. Stay away. read more
