If you are assigned Rich as your project manager immediately request someone else. Rich has no knowledge of construction and takes all of his subcontractors at their word without verifying the work was done for himself. We hired Korrect to finish out a bathroom remodel that went wrong. We simply needed them to finish sealing some areas, properly align some cabinets, install carpet, etc. Rich talked us into demolishing the entire bathroom by going on and on about this amazing designer he knows who would remodel our entire bathroom with a design we would love. This was going to be a $300,000+ bathroom remodel and we put down a $130,000 deposit with Korrect to get the work started. They got started on the demo of the existing bathroom right away. It was after this that we learned that the amazing designer, who is Rich's daughter, is actually a junior designer at a design firm here in Dallas. She's never done any design work herself and yet Rich, whose sole job is to select and use reputable subcontractors, decided this was appropriate for our remodel. Additionally, we came to learn that she was under a binding non-compete with her existing employer and was expressly prohibited from engaging in outside work. We have learned that Rich's daughter has since been fired from her junior designer position for violation of her non-compete. Rich's daughter never produced any actual designs for us, despite the fact that Korrect is demanding we pay for the designer fee. We learned through emails with one of Korrect's owners, Kullen, that they had actually already paid Rich's daughter in full and Kullen specficially wrote that, "he cannot lose money" on this and expects us to pay that cost despite the clear failing on the part of Korrect to vet their subcontractors. Demolishing the existing bathroom was supposed to take 4-6 days, however after three MONTHS this was still not finished (to say nothing of getting started on the ACTUAL work). We finally met with Kullen and told him that we would pay for the work that was done ($17,000) but that we would not pay for the design fee because no design work was actually provided to us and that we would like the rest of our deposit back. Kullen refused our offer in emails where he, again, stated that Korrect cannot lose money on this job and is now holding our deposit hostage claiming he is entitled to keep it despite not having done any actual work to earn it. Again, we were more than willing to pay for the work that Korrect did actually do (although not complete) to ensure their subcontractors were paid. We were simply requesting the rest of our deposit back for the work that was NEVER done. Kullen is as dishonest as they come in our opinion. Regardless of his words, his actions show us that he does not care about the ethics of business. We also had hired Korrect previously for other jobs around our property and their work was mediocre at best. One example, supposedly specialize in roof replacements and so they replaced our roof. The next major rainstorm showed us the quality of their work as our brand new roof was leaking in several places. That's just one example, however there are several more which will be brought to light in our lawsuit. Keep in mind that the only reason we're going to court with Korrect is because Kullen is trying to keep money that does not belong to him. He is a thief and, despite us spending two hours in our kitchen with him trying to work something out, has decided that we should bear the cost of his company's failings. So, if you do hire Korrect just know that they will talk a big game about doing the right thing, providing great quality work, and wanting to make sure their customers are satisfied... however, it's just that... all talk. The second there is a problem Kullen and Rich will do everything they can to keep your money regardless of whether or not they delivered on the work they promised.

The sales guy, Kyle, was very professional, knew his products and services, and answered all of my questions well. We had the roof scheduled for a Thursday. As the day got closer, there was a 30% chance of rain in the forecast. Not wanting to chance it, I asked to move the date. They rescheduled for the next Thursday with no problem. It then forecasted rain...for the next 5 consecutive reschedule dates we had. Each time, for over 2 months, Aspenmark rescheduled our date, by my request, with no questions. Some of those dates were rainouts, some of them were me being paranoid about rain. No problems. I really appreciated that. I contacted Kyle on weekends, during the week, after 5 pm, early in the morning...it didn't matter. I always got a text or call back immediately. VERY good communication. When they actually did the job? It was done in 6 hours. Much faster than other houses in our area, which sometimes took two or three days. The roof looks great, and it was done very well. Now, here's where I'm leery about the industry in general, and Aspenmark was no different. If you're getting your roof done, watch for this. Get multiple bids from at least 3 companies. Then, watch as they give you one price, then call you back a couple days later and say, "Oops! I forgot to add _____ price in the quote." "Oh sorry. I forgot to correctly calculate your square footage. It's going to be $_______ more money." This seems commonplace, and I'm not sure why they're all doing that. Seems to me that it's how the sales person adds in their commission after they've baited you with the initial price. I can't prove that, but all of the companies I got quotes from did it. Aspenmark was no different. That's why I took away the 5th star for this review. Accurate, upfront pricing is what I expected, and it's shady how this industry can't seem to get that right. But, I will also say that Aspenmark was the only company to increase the price overall, and then give me discounts on some materials to bring my out-of-pocket expense back down to pretty close to the original quote.

While I can't speak in length about the company, I can share my experience with one of their…read morerepresentatives, Tom Herman. You see, the reason I can't speak in length about the company is because even after I signed the contract to have work done, they did not fulfill the contract and do the work! I will try to make this long story as short as possible. I received a bid from Tom for improving ventilation. I received a bid from another company for the same work. Tom's bid was $1,200 higher than the other company, but Tom's bid specified putting in larger attic fans. Okay, that sounded good to us. The larger fans explained the higher amount over the other company's bid. Tom said they would start work the following Wednesday, weather permitting. The Monday before the scheduled Wednesday Tom called to say he did not add in the extra cost of the fans, which was $900, and that it would mean he'd have to pay OUT OF HIS POCKET for the difference, adding, "BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" I thought, "what the heck," because how could he now be wanting to add $900 to the total when he was already $1,200 over the other bid?? So I said I was okay with it coming out of his pocket if that was necessary, because we were not going to pay more on our end, and I reminded him that I had already signed the contract that he had sent me. He went on to say that they probably would end up just not being able to do the work. Again, I had signed and returned the signed contract to him, and we were scheduled to begin said work in just two days (and now he's asking for more money????) $900 more would put his bid over $2,100 over the other company, which just did not make any sense. I think what bothers me most about all this was his total unprofessionalism over the phone. Twice he said, loudly, "I'M GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE FROM MY OWN POCKET, BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" Two days after this I spoke with a lady named Paula Felix about Tom and she claimed I had not signed all the papers of the contract. Tom had emailed me two papers, and he said to sign the "two papers" and get them back to him, which I did. But Paula said there were more papers I should have signed, and she was sorry, but they were not taking on any small jobs at the moment, and so they would not be able to do the contracted work for me. Paula was very polite, which I appreciated, and she even apologized, which I appreciated, and said she hoped this poor experience with Tom did not leave a bad feeling in me towards their company. I said how could it not? Because though I had signed a contract they would not honor it. (Where is there any honor or integrity anymore?) Maybe the company is outstanding in the work they do, but at the end of the day a company is only as good as their WORD. Aspenmark did not honor their word, despite it being written down in a contract and despite my having signed it.
