I called Eugene for an estimate for a simple irrigation install in my front yard, something I normally would have done myself but needed to tunnel under the sidewalk. He came over that evening to take a look and gave me a very reasonable quote. But as we were talking, I mentioned a couple other projects I was thinking about: removing ugly landscape rock and three invasive trees. He said he could take care of all of that, the same week, for a price I couldn't refuse. I couldn't be happier with the results! Very knowledgeable, but $175 an hour makes them very expensive! Wasn't the $300 flat fee valve installation job we thought, no fault of theirs. But they charged $400 for labor only, ie 175 an hour for trouble shooting. read more

Eugene was quick and very responsive. I had multiple leaks in the distribution valve and my controller was busted. I has to travel and wanted someone who could fix my irrigation system during the weekend. He verified the leak and suggested to fix the leak as it may fix everything before going for a new system. His quote was reasonable and he came in earlier than he committed on the day. We had to replace the controller as well but, that was reasonable as well. I see several bad reviews about his tardiness or commitment, I am not sure of those circumstances but I would definitely recommend him. read more

Eugene listened to the history of my problem, including what the first organization had tried for repairs. When I told him that a valve/solenoid had been replaced, and 3 others had stopped working off the Irritrol timer, but worked off manual button, they started and checked the sound the solenoids made. They immediately identified the problem as the timer and made an offer for 3 new valve/solenoids and a new Irritrol which were very reasonably priced with labor folded in. They came the following morning at 8, and after turning off the power, had replaced the timer and 3 solenoids by 9. If you want an experienced team, these guys should be your choice. read more

I needed some irrigation work completed. Using Yelp's referral service I enter my project details and Arrowhead Sprinkler responded the quickest. Eugene said he can come out within the hour to give me a quote for the project. He showed up on time and was efficient in his assessment of what was needed to replace my 4 zone irrigation system. Additionally he recommended rerouting the irrigation away from the block wall to help with the wetness that was on the wall. He committed to starting on Monday but due to the rain called me and asked if he could start on Tuesday keeping me in the loop. I agreed Tuesday would be a better start date. He showed up Tuesday on time with his crew. They completed the project in two days as planned. Leaving my yard better looking than when they started. Eugene was completely unprofessional. I schedule an initial appt with him for consultation he shows a day late. Then he said he needs to come back to deep dive into my yard which happens a week later. He finally gives me a quote and we schedule for Sat, on Sat he says he can't make it will Monday work, guess what - he didn't show up Monday. When I finally get ahold of him he says that he now can't come for 2 weeks after he didn't show up twice. What a complete waste of time, go somewhere else if you want someone who does what they say they are going to do. read more

I saw solid reviews for fixing leaks and minor repairs, so thought would try him to replace an entire system which was a week long job. He came out timely enough and had a solid quote, but trying to get details to writing in email on exactly what was to be delivered was a painful process. However, we finally completed that to only setup a start date and 12 hrs before starting he called and wanted (as others state) a sizable down payment (50%) when he is clear up front that no payment until complete. Told him we'd need to have a formal written contract to start payment on a schedule. He tried to explain he needed money for payroll as if it was my responsibility to float his business for other projects. Anyways, he pushed out one week so he could get paid and that was the last communication as he decided to ghost me. No more answering phone calls, return text messages, etc. Again he may be good for small repairs, but not at all a professional for larger (week long) jobs. read more

He was able to start work the next business day to repair/replace 4 valves on our sprinkler system and a leaking drip system hose. Eugene was very prompt with answering messages. I appreciated the fact that he gives you a free consultation/estimate. I also appreciated that he bases his price on the entire job, not the hours. They other estimates I got were not specific as their estimate only included a certain amount of time - if it took them longer, they charged an additional hourly fee. Other companies also charged a fee just to come out and estimate. Also other companies were booked 2-3 weeks out for any work. I expected better given the other reviews. Eugene took a look at our irrigation and provided us and estimate; we asked to move forward with a contract. He sent us a contract then scheduled with us for a start day. The day before the start date he texted to request 45% of the entire cost of the project to be paid upfront. Stated that his other job hadn't paid him in full so he needed an advance. We said we'd be open to editing the contract to payments for materials and by milestones (so paying as work was in progress) but would not pay 45% up front before work even begun. He then said he'd taken on an interim project and moved ours out by a few days, we've contacted him repeatedly asking if we're proceeding with the project and a fair payment plan aligned to work. He's not responding to any messages or texts. This is unethical and unprofessional. Everyone knows you don't pay 45% in advance and if any advance payment is needed, it should be called out in the contract. And on top of that to just "disappear" and not respond. BAD BUSINESS read more
