Our building was in the middle of everything, close to the community center, mailing center, and the Mesa Commons. The Viento building was created as a Unit 1 Hall. This means that it was one of the first building to be created. Another reason why this place was perfect was that it was only 2 stories. Yes, it may seem fun to have more floors and more people, but since we only had two floors, all students who lived in the dorm knew each other very well, and some GOT real close as well. In other words, the number of students living there was perfect, not too many, not too little. And from my previous knowledge, Viento was known as a party dorm. Here is a small description of the housing: Mass Media and Communication Hall Viento Students are provided opportunities to explore forms of broadcast media, such as radio and television, forms of print media, and the fields of video and film production through hall programming events, faculty interaction and community dialogues about its usage and influence in society. In addition, students will be encouraged to explore leadership and career opportunities in the world of broadcasting and communication. Living in this community will introduce residents to such campus-wide leadership/broadcasting opportunities, as the KUCI-FM campus radio station, the New University student newspaper, 24-Hour Mad Film Dash, and other UCI programs. A con would be the fact that there's only 2 washer and dryers for the 54 of us that lived in the hall, although that may be different depending on which sized hall you wind up in (Cielo was one of the 10 first halls to be built and are the smallest). Being in one of the smallest halls allowed everyone to become more close and comfortable with one another. I lived in a Mass Media themed hall which is a great hall since many different majors lived there, allowing every type of personality to live there and there was a friend for everyone :) the most memorable year of my life and I was very sad to move out. Would recommend! Edit: Another con would definitely be the tiny showers we have to use; very hard to shave in if you're a girl as it's just a tiny cube of space. I was able to get used to it, but am happy to be having a full bath and shower in my apartment next year :) Another Pro: Mesa Court in general is very pleasant, lots of green everywhere and they keep it looking nice and clean. Raccoons come and tear up trashcans at night but maintenance always clean it up. I'd often just sit and relax on the balcony facing the back of the building as the view was nice and calming. I can tell…read morethey are very short handed on the maintenance team at the moment and my small non emergent requests unfortunately needed to be pushed out for over a week (which isn't the norm for this complex) but I understood why. Jesus saw me out on a walk and clarified with me what I needed done and apologized he couldn't come sooner- he then popped into my apartment with my permission to take photos so he could see exactly what needed to be done for when he came back to complete work order at a later date. Then he was actually able to show up 4 days early working with my schedule due to a cancellation. The fact he remembered to add me into due to a canceled work order really was incredible. On top of that, he had all supplies with him needed to compete my work order swiftly and efficiently due to the photos he took ahead of time. Jesus is someone that truly cares about his job. He desires to help the residents and completes everything swiftly and throughly. I'm always impressed with his work ethic, professionalism and positive "Can do" attitude always. Thank you Jesus! There are many different things that I liked about living there and there are many different things that I didn't like. ---Let's start with the negatives so I can end on a better note.--- The negatives of this place is that the walls are thin as many have mentioned. That's the worst thing about living here... How many times did I lose sleep because I can here conversation from my housemate or people being rowdy late at night. ESPECIALLY THE HEDGE TRIMMING AND THE LEAVES BLOWING. So if you're looking to have some fun time at night with your mate, know that you will be heard. Even at inside conversation level, I can hear my housemate. Despite claiming to be smoke free, many people still smoke around the apartment anyways. The internet is okay but dookie at times. Every single day the internet will go down and you would have to reset it from your computer for it to turn back on. A minor inconvenience to my daily life over something stupid, I don't like that. Parking is expensive. They know we are college students so what's up with the savage parking pass? Camino del Sol in general is expensive. Which is why you'd probably be considered boujee living there. The smoke alarm sucked. How many times had the smoke alarm gone off when there wasn't even any smoke?!? But the thing is, the thin wall, parking, and dookie internet are probably common things that all ACC apartment will share. Except Puerta del Sol... I hear them Puerta bastards get free parking. Which is messed up! *red face angry emoji* The reason why I didn't stay is the price at Camino was already savage but they raised the rent this year and that's a little too savage. I'm a broke college student, I can't ball out on them thin walls like that. The furniture sucks as well. My housemate and I never used the couch in the living room at all. The tables were actually decent though. The beds are trash. Move and they will squeak/ Sp if you're considering having fun time with your mate, know that your housemate will be able to here you. Camino's office used to be 24/7 but now it closes at like 2am? There was one night when I thought my key didn't work at like 3am and I had no idea how to get in. I was about to call my housemate if all things failed but eventually the key worked. Which reminds me that the electric key isn't too good sometimes. +++Now onto the positive thing about living at Camino.+++ The convenience that follows living at an ACC apartment could be the thing that makes you want to live there.. You live close to the campus and close to essentially anything you can need. The bus is a great perk. Although it can become a clown bus when they trynna pack the whole student body into one bus, it does take you to campus, UTC, and the other bootleg UTC, where Albertson is. The apartment has AC which sounds like a norm, but many places off campus don't have AC. Unlimited water and you technically don't pay for wifi. Although the price you pay seems like you pay for the wifi. You got washer and dryer. I think all unit comes with them. The staffs from all of my encounter throughout the year, are very friendly. I like knowing that my packages are sent to them and they can sign for it and hold it for me when I'm not home. They're pretty accommodating and will help you, so you should ask them if you need something. I didn't have any creature that got inside the apartment besides spiders less than 10 times in my time living there. Off campus, you can expect to be battling giant, steroid taking, gym going roaches. Camino is also probably the safest one. In contrast VDC is probably where all of the action is happening. As I constantly get messages of burglaries at VDC bombing my phone. Camino is also pretty close to the ARC and the parking lot. The facility at Camino is pretty good from my experience. The gym is decent, and closer than the ARC, often less pack then the ARC as well. There are study rooms which smells nice. The printer is good. They should put a stapler in the computer room so I don't have to go to the front desk every time and ask to borrow the stapler. So that's my experience of Camino. Should you live here depends on what you're looking for. If money is not a problem and you want to live close to campus, this is the place, for sure. If you're trynna save money, this is not the place, for sure. You'll have lots of perks living here but there are lots of different disadvantages to living here as well. What means the most to you?

There's a nice pool and outdoor grill area, but it's often dirty and not maintained well -- there are ducks that live in the pool. Cute, if it was a pond & not a swimming pool. The staff is patronizing and unhelpful most times. If you are trying to renew your lease, you'll be threatened with homelessness until the very last minute & they won't provide any information about when/if you'll be permitted to stay. Not to mention, the rent is over $1,300 and increasing each year. My air conditioning has broken 2 summers in a row, and they are slow to repair it without offering any relief from the sweltering heat in the meantime. They provided a small portable A/C that barely cools down the first floor, let alone the second and third floors (where the bedrooms are). The beds are insanely loud & squeaky, and the walls and floors are so thin that you can hear your roommates drop a pin upstairs/next door. The appliances are outdated and need repairs fairly often. The WiFi is intermittent and fails to work just about every night. I've been so threatened by my roommates at times that I've had to call the police, and Camino staff didn't do much to help. Save yourself the trauma and move off campus if you can afford it.

Calling to make noise complaints doesn't do anything or has solved the issue, in fact it has gotten worse. The dog barks during the day, even in the middle of the night and early in the morning. Paying $2k a month and I can't even get decent sleep because a dog is barking all night when I thought this was a pet free apartment complex.

I had a question to ask so I called the office on 8/30/25 around 4'o clock, then this female staff answers my call, keeping me on a brief hold. 5 minutes after she comes back, then I explained my situation briefly and asked further question(asking if a certain information about our residence could be disclosed to us) Then she literally says "What are you talking about??", repetitively telling me that they are not in charge of the electricity but Edison is. Who in the world answers a question in such a rude way like this? It sounded like she was annoyed to answer the phone for the entire time. If this is what I should expect when calling a company representative, the company has an extremely low standard of hiring a person handling the service, which also leaves the quality of their overall service in doubt. She could've just said something like "sorry, I didn't understand your situation, could you repeat that", but it just felt like I was talking to a little child instead of a proper adult staff. The office should review the staff training process or hire a better person. Very disappointed.
