I actually wandered in here just out of curiosity, but I ended up buying a pair of gold earrings. I lost my gold hoops and had been looking for some simple but interesting oval hoops. Walked in and there they were. They have lots of moonstones, some diamonds, rough and cut emeralds, and all kinds of other stuff, set in silver, gold, platinum or white gold. I brought in my engagement ring to have a new setting made. Hugo chipped my diamond. This began a long and painful 6 month process whereby I got to know Hugo and Bertha well. Initially we went through possible diamond replacements- one that he offered was too thin for other jewelers to agree to work on and a 2nd could only be gotten if I agreed to it sight unseen. And so it went. From there we went to giving me money to buy a replacement diamond but the amounts they offered would not buy a comparable stone. Finally I agreed to just keep the damaged stone and have them give me funds for my trouble and to try to have it recut ( a little smaller) and get a new setting. I asked for a minimum and Hugo actually offered more than that. Long and painful and sometimes not very nice, but finally worked out. His wife Bertha however is someone to watch out for. She smiles while she says nasty things. She seems like a sweet grandma type. She isn't. Be careful in your dealings here. This was a very stressful and unpleasant 6 months. read more

We all walked into the shop and all came out with a purchase. For me, I had lost my Anniversary ring for the third time and didn't find it this time. I came across this jewelry shop Thursday on a trip to Ventura. It's definitely a must go to shop. I met the owners son who told me his mother is the buyer and she does such a great job merchandising there shop. They have all sorts of Jewelry including Sea Life. I'm always searching for unique pieces of jewelry and was so excited to see there collections. If you're in Ventura or driving through Ventura you have to stop in. I'm looking forward to my next trip and visiting! Last week I was back in Ventura and of course this shop was first on my list. I got to meet the owner - my last visit her son had helped me and I told her just talented he was - but he spent a long time on my first visit telling me about his mother and how she does the merchandising and it's her exquisite taste that picks the pieces they sell. I see why he's so talented - he got those special skills from her . I ended up shopping more then I planned but every piece she helped me pick I'm thrilled with.
