Micah came a day earlier than our original appointment time because he had a cancellation and worked us in. That was great so that we didn't have a lot more water to clean up. He got right to work, fixed the problem and cleaned things up. I was able to go back to work in the house and he called me when he was done so I didn't have to worry about him coming in the house and getting the dogs riled up. Can't comment on their work, because no one would every show up. I had an 8 - 12 o'clock appointment scheduled. At 12 I called asking about their arrival. They said their technicians were currently unavailable, but someone would come out as soon as possible. A few hours late I received a call to reschedule, because they could not fulfill their schedule. I was told I was to be the first call when they came back out. Fast forward to the second day I cleared my schedule for them. I called multiple times throughout the morning asking what time someone would show up. The third time I called was at 11, and they could still not tell me when because none of their technicians would pick up the phone for them. Two days wasted waiting on them, and no one ever showed up. read more

We are being forced to use ARS/Rescue Rooter through our home warranty company. We had a hot water heater go out and have had to shut off our water. We confirmed with ARS at 2PM on Sunday that they would be out to our house the next day between the hours of 1-6PM. At 4:30PM we called to confirm they were still on their way. at 6:50PM they called us to let us know they "weren't able to make it out". When asked when they could be here, the answer given was, "we may be able to get someone out there around 9:30 or 10:30 in the AM. SERIOUSLY.......So we have taken off an entire afternoon and now they "MAY" be here sometime in the AM. This company boasts an "Exceptional Service Guarantee" on their website. I would appreciate it if they would, at minimum, do what they said they were going to do and then not leave a customer waiting until it is too late in the evening to arrange for alternative service. We are now going to be into day 3 without water and no firm response as to when they "might" be here. A full day of work missed and they "might" show tomorrow. We will see. read more

FYI - this is my first YELP review. I am so disgusted in the lack of service that I'm moved to save others time. Also, I appreciate all the time (and money) others have saved me on here! Now it's time for me to give back: Plumbing problem - Main bathroom sink won't drain and plumbing is leaking in bathroom. Last week, I was put in touch with this company through a home warranty that came with the house I recently purchased. I didn't have a choice as to who I used, but that's ok as it's part of the warranty. On a positive note, they called me very quickly after I submitted the service request to schedule the appointment. They scheduled it in a window from 1:00pm to 6:00pm for two days later. It went downhill from there. On the day of expected service, I called around 9:00am to confirm they were coming that day as I had errands to run and they said yes, they were coming and that they would call me 30-45 minutes before the technician was to arrive. At 5:00pm, I had not heard from them so I called them to once again confirm they were coming because it was getting late and starting to get dark. I was told at that time that YES, they were coming, but they were just running behind that day, but if I wanted to reschedule, I could. I said no, that I needed this taken care of today and that I'd been waiting all day for them, not to mention the two days since the appointment was scheduled. At 5:30pm, the same lady I spoke to called me to inform me that NO, in fact they WOULD NOT be coming that day and could I reschedule for the next day. I said no! At that point, I was extremely agitated and I let them know their service was completely lacking and unprofessional...bush league! If your desire is to waste your valuable time and deal with a company that lacks even an average level of customer service, call Rescue Rooter. In early December 2014, Rescue Rooter (aka ARS Plumbing) with the concurrence of AHS Home Warranty required 2 weeks to eventually replace my kitchen faucet. Neither this company (nor AHS Warranty) would take actions to expedite the repair of the faucet; consequently my family had limited use of the kitchen during this time. My requests to expedite completion of this job were ignored. The initial assessment was to repair the faucet which required ordering a part, but no effort was made to have the part shipped quickly. After the faucet broke again while installing the part, the plumber went to the local chain hardware store, purchased a low end faucet and installed it in less than an hour. I did not renew my home warranty and I would not request services from this company again as their office personnel showed no interest in the timely completion of this small, simple job. These people are the most ridiculous and unprofessional group of morons I've ever encountered. I had an appt for 1-6. I sat at home as I work 1 hour away and can't get home in the 30-45 minutes they give you before they arrive. I got a call at 4:02, and returned the call at 4:12, and sat on hold for 5 minutes. The ignorant woman on the line informed me that they would not be coming again, as I missed their call. I explained to her, I called back in 10 minutes. I have other responsibilities than sitting on the phone. I also informed this woman how this was not explained before hand. They took their $75 fee for my home warranty deductible and now they are just full of ****. So, if you don't hear your phone ringing, you will not be serviced and they will tell you they are moving on to another client and will not put you back on the list today. The lady was soooooo nonchalant. I should have known, because while I was on "hold" I heard another woman in the background telling people how their plumber was coming today either. These people are the worst. I shouldn't have trust the home warranty group's recommendation. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS TACKY, UNRELIABLE, NONCHALANT "business". It is incredible that this company is still in business. We have had the same bad experience with this company that everybody else who has given it a low rating. They schedule, then don't show up; when you call to hear to fix the situation, they are immediately defensive and rude, definitely not a 'the customer is always right' company. They send the wrong people for the job so it has to be rescheduled with someone who can do it and then the same person shows up the next time! and yet again you have to wait for the right one. In our case we needed a new toilet installed and in the end the guy who 'fixed' it broke the flange and didn't place the vax gasket properly. Needles to say the newly installed toilet began to leak in a few days and we had a different plummer fix it documenting his findings by photos. We contacted the Home Depot through whom we had contracted with these guys and they forwarded the complain to the company. Since they could not argue against the photo documention they offered us a refund if we signed off our right to speak up against them. We didn't because because this in any possible way irresponsible company should be out of business. At the time of this writing I don't know if the Home Depot has broken their ties with them. Note a good experience. Recommended by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. With the portion AHS paid and my portion, they tried to get away with charging me $2700 for a 50 gallons gas water heater. Calls to the Marietta office got me nowhere. I also sent a certified letter. Still no response. Then I called the corporate office and spoke with Ms. Mc Gregory. Initially she called Cassie, the manager at the Marietta branch. She later tried to tell me that the prices were in line with the work done. I faxed her copy of the letter I sent the Marietta branch outlining the over exaggerated price for parts and installation showing prices from Hone Depot and Apex Plumbing. Twice I was charged for parts that came with the water heater. She called again and said that Cassie would give me a 15% customer satisfaction discount. I refused and told her I was contacting the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs. The attitude changed immediately. I was then quoted a money back guarantee that if I were not satisfied. ARS would send a tech to uninstall and they would give me a complete refund. I told them to come get it. Ms. Gregory made another call to ARS-Marietta. All of a sudden they could and refunded my credit card $765. Beware. Know the usual and customary cost of any services they provide. Make them quote you an overall cost for the job. They came out to look at my furnace. Said basically that it was not reparable and that I needed a new furnace. When I said I would check around they said that if they could find a control board that might help for now. The technician Tobias was twenty or so minutes in his truck before coming back to the door to tell me he had found one one and could install it it for $970.00 that it would work for awhile but I would still need a new furnace. With the help of my son we found a local heating and plumbing company who had the board in stock, came out the next day and installed it for $400. And said my furnace was fine. I cannot begin to tell you my relief. I would never do business with ARS Rooter again. read more

I was referred to ARS by my home warranty because my hot water heater was not working. The technician had a multimeter to measure electrical current and found that there was current in the upper part of the heater but no current in the lower part. He then diagnosed my problem as broken water heater due to excessive water pressure. HE DIDN'T EVEN MEASURE THE PRESSURE!! I asked him how he knew that the problem wasn't due to a damaged heating element and he just shook his head and said "because I went to school for 5 years that how I know"..and he wanted to charge me 1400 dollars! I called another plumber. He measured the water pressure...it was normal. He also checked both my heating elements and one of them was blown...there was hole in the element. Called for dishwasher install to replace ancient one that was there. You could hear the old one outside of the house. It was time. Guy came out. Quoted $495 for install with pipe rerouting and other work. No showed to return the next day and when I called, was told no appt on books. I rescheduled. Guy no showed. I rescheduled and guy did install. Did not do any of the work quoted and said it wasn't needed. I called office. 'We will call you about any price issue once we research it.' Dishwasher falls out from counter. Called to get fixed. No show. I called again to reschedule. Still no word on my price issue. Guy comes out to fix problem. Next day, dishwasher falls out again from under counter. I'm not bothering to call. I can use a screwdriver properly and fix it. NIGHTMARE-I cannot believe I tolerated three no shows. Jerks. Manager. Cathy, doesn't listen and talks over you because obviously, she knows more than you about the situation and can explain everything. Very rude. Here's the thing. Even if you have the knowledge and experience to do something, sometimes it's just not convenient or particularly appealing to do it, even if it IS your own poop that went through your own sewage line. When all of the drains for the various fixtures in our master bath stopped flowing, I did a couple of tests involving a plunger which showed me the clog was just above the junction with the guest bath drains. I called Sundance Plumbing in Suwanee, who referred the job to Rescue Rooter. I showed the victim to the plumber, offered my diagnosis, he agreed, and told me he would have to take up the toilet to access it for $389.00, I told him $350, because I wanted a Senior Discount. He agreed, and went to work. He installed a new wax seal and water line afterward, and the lines are flowing again. I'm not thrilled by the price, but, when you throw in the labor cost, driving from Woodstock, the equipment, the parts, insurance for liability, overhead, etc., etc., plus a profit, it makes more sense. In my case, NOT handling sewagy poo-poo yuck made it all worthwhile. read more

I've not even been service yet and can already tell you to avoid this contractor. I am a customer of American Home Shield and placed a service call for a water heater and this was the contractor AHS assigned. They quickly called and set an appointment for the next day between 8AM - 1PM (I wrote it down). The next 1pm goes by and I call them at 2pm and was told my appointment time was 1PM - 6PM and that it would not be long though. 6PM, no call.. I call at 6:30PM and was then told the technician got "tied up" and that they could come out first thing in the morning. I asked for clarrification and was told I would be the first appointment at 8AM. I then contacted AHS to explain the situation and they contacted the contractor and confirmed once again, they confirmed I was the first appointment for the morning at 8AM. Here I am today, 8:30, no call. I call and am now told that the technicial had another call ahead of mine and would be here when they are done at that job. I have no idea what to believe or expect other than I am now on day 3 of no hot water and ZERO confidence that it will get resolved today. read more

We were visited by Ruben after requesting a quote through Home Depot's website for a new HVAC system. Ruben was nice and thorough and gave us a couple of different size options for our new system. The price, mind you is extremely high, however, the financing option through Home Depot's Home Loans softened the blow with monthly payments. Ruben stated that if we went with the higher priced system we would receive a rebate of $800! (documented on the estimate). The installation went okay with just a couple of mistakes - wrong thermostat installed, and wrong size return vent. They said they would come back to fix it, but after a few days we had to call and schedule them to come back out. Fast forward and I received a rebate in the mail of $250. I spoke with Morow with ARS several times about receiving the incorrect rebate amount but I never have received a call back with a resolution. Therefore I would NOT recommend ARS as they obviously use the bait and switch tactic and make false promises. Shame on Home Depot as well. read more

Wow - Maybe I should have read these reviews before I let ARS in my home. Looks like nobody has a good experience with them. So here goes another terrible review. Home Depot uses ARS. I bought two toilets from Home Depot, new countertops, sinks, and appliances. ARS didn't get anything right - not one thing. It all stared with the toilets. The plumber shows up and I honestly couldn't understand him. I asked him to please speak slowly and not as loud. Seriously, he yells in a thick Jamaican accent. He was pissed off that I lived in a high rise. He bitched the entire time. He didn't have a dolly. I mean, he's delivering toilets and he doesn't have a dolly. After the excruciating task of carrying those toilets across a parking lot and into the elevator, he enters my home mad as hell. In less than 30 seconds, he bent over and cut my pipe. Yes, cut it. My condo flooded as well as the neighbor below. He kept yelling at me that he thought it was copper. If a plumber can't tell the difference between copper and pvc pipe, then he shouldn't be a plumber. I spoke with the owner Donna - who was nice enough to send someone else out immediately. They put blowers and dehumidifies in my condo, my neighbors, and the hallways. What a nightmare. A restoration company is supposed to fix all of the walls, but I haven't heard anything in a month. Donna was friendly, so I continued to use them for the sink disconnect and reconnect. On the day my reconnect was scheduled, no one showed up. I called Donna and she was rude. I'd had it. I blew up, then she hung up. She lied, and one thing I can't take is a liar. They refused to take my phone calls. So I had to hire another plumber to connect my appliances (at triple the costs since I wasn't getting the HD price). I demanded Home Depot refund the portion of my bill that was ARS, and they did. So to recap, I STILL have a big hole in my wall, my neighbor still has a damaged ceiling - and I never heard from ARS or their restoration company again. The absolute worse experience with Home Depot or any plumber, contractor, etc that I've ever had. I caution everyone about this company. My biggest concern is if they are even licensed plumbers. I had a leaking pipe underneath the kitchen sink. Because I have American Home Shield coverage, I called American Shield who scheduled a Rescue Rooter to come out and fix the issue. I was at work when the technician came but my father-in-law was home. The technician called and said that he need to replace the faucet (this was strange because the faucet had just been replaced 5 months previously and the leak seemed to be coming from a pipe below the sink and not the faucet). Anyway, I trusted the technician's expertise. He called later in the afternoon and said that he had installed a new faucet and fixed the leak. That night when I arrived home from work I found the sink detached from the countertop, the pipe still detached, and water still pouring all over the floor and cabinet from the pipe under the sink! I called Rescue Rooter again and they said they would book another technician to fix the issue in 2 days. Since this was the main kitchen sink where we do dishes, I asked for a sooner appointment, they said 'sorry we are booked'. Two days later they did send another technician who reattached the pipe and fixed the leak in the pipe but did not reattach the sink that had become detached immediately after the first technician had replaced the faucet. At this point I called Rescue Rooter again. The lady answered said 'sorry you will have to call AHS'. I explained that the sink had only become detached after the technician had come out but she said 'we don't do that'. I called AHS and they said that the technician and the plumbing company needs to fix it. So I called Rescue Rooter back and asked to speak with a supervisor. The lady answering replied that she was a supervisor. I explained that the scenario and asked that Rescue Rooter please reattach the sink because it had been detached only immediately after the first technician had come out. She apologized for the problem and assured me that they would have a technician come out and reattach it first thing on Monday morning. On Monday morning to my surprise and disgust the technician came out and said "We don't fix that". I explained that they did need to fix the problem that they had caused when the first technician had come out. The technician was extremely rude and told me 'no you have to speak with a supervisor'. When I explained that I had spoken to a supervisor (or at least someone claiming to be a supervisor) and they had assured me the problem would be fixed and that that was why he was supposedly here, he still refused to fix the problem. So after dealing with this joke of a company I may no longer have a leak (it still took them 2 visits and 3 days to simply attach a pipe correctly ) but I now have a detached sink, which is a far greater problem. It is absolutely mind-blowing that a company can be this incompetent (or at a very minimum extremely uncoordinated) and irresponsible! If a company causes a problem, they need to take responsibility for it. When the supervisor assures me that they take responsibility for it and that they will fix a problem then the technician needs to do that. What a disgusting experience on every level! If your home warranty company sends you to ARS, you need to request another provider. The plumber diagnosed and fixed the leaking kitchen sink but the process took over 3 weeks to schedule, have them get parts and actually show up for an appointment. And the customer service could not have been any less helpful or caring. Meanwhile I washed my dishes in my bathtub for weeks and had tens of thousands of dollars of damage occur to my floors. Oh, and after the faucet was replaced it was still leaking- I had to tighten the nozzle myself. read more

I had several (5) issues that ARS was to fix. The first time they came out they were late. The plumber took several hours and had to leave to go to Home Depot a couple times. When he finally finished I was told all issues had been fixed. At the time due to the length of time he was there, I had guests and could not check the work. Once I had the time to check, I found out he did not fix 3/5 issues. I called back and rescheduled. The technician came out, again super late. I was shocked that he came out with a part for one of the sinks he supposedly fixed (meaning he knew he hadn't fixed it the 1st time). This trip he did fix that sink, he fixed the second one as well. However, the third sink (which he actually made worse the 1st time) had to have a part he didn't have. He took the part from the sink (turning off the water) with him and said he would be back the following week. Well it's been well over 2 weeks and no part, plumber or communication from ARS. When I called the 1st time I was rudely told by the person on the phone it would take 7-10 days and to wait for a call. This was new information that should have been communicated. At over 10 business days I called (on a Friday) and was told "nope not in, nothing we can do" this time extremely rude. I asked the person I spoke with to have the plumber call me. She said she would have him call. No call. I called again Monday, very frustrated and asked if the part was in, and was told it was not. I was then very, very frustrated and asked for the plumber to return the part (so we could at least have water on the main floor) and was told not only that I couldn't speak to the plumber but that the part had been disposed of! It was apparent every time I called that no one was following this issue other than me. The people on the phone were completely incapable of understanding the frustration that occurs when your issues are not resolved as you were told, or having the water to your sink turned off for 2 plus weeks, coupled with poor communication and zero follow up! In short the office people simply don't care and are obviously ill prepared to interact with the public. I would have given 1 star however the plumber was always pleasant and kind. I wasn't even too bothered that he was late both times (I get that things might take longer than expected) or that he had to return a second time. The third time, coupled with NO water to the sink and the poor experience with the staff answering the phone caused the poor review. In short I gave them a lot of leeway before writing this review! I am now forced to go purchase a temporary faucet so that I can have water to the sink while I "wait for ARS to call and schedule an apt." NEVER EVER USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY!!!!!! This started with a leaky bathtub faucet. My landlord, the homeowner, called this company to take care of it. This was back in the first week of December. After calling to tell me they were about to turn onto my street I rushed out of my office to meet them. I live a mile away, so I wasn't worried. Got to my place and no plumber. I waited 2 hours! The man shows up and spends 3 minutes in my bathroom to say "I don't have the parts in my truck so we'll have to call the homeowner and reschedule for this week. See you sometime this week." After a week of radio silence I finally contact my landlord and ask when they were going to schedule them to come out again. My landlord tells me, they said they would call and schedule with me. Another week goes by and its 2 days before I'm about to go out of town for the holidays. I get a call at 6:45pm from a bumbling kid saying he's calling from Rescue Rooter and the first question out of his mouth is, "did you still need us to take care of your problem?" This should have been the immediate red flag to abort. After some back and forth with the man on the phone I schedule the appointment for the Tuesday after the new year, from four to six in the evening. That's what the kid on the phone told me. Appointment day rolls around and since I live so close I decided not to take the day off and just waited for the call. At 4:45pm I get a call. I start packing up as I answer the call. Only it's not the plumber but the same kid from before. He goes on to tell me that they made a mistake and the plumber who was supposed to come does not work on Tuesdays. Let's clarify here, this company waited until THE DAY OF my appointment within the appointment window time to alert me that my plumber does not work on the day THEY scheduled the appointment! As I'm rescheduling, yet again, I select the following day during the same 4:00-6:00 time frame. In response I get a hesitant "uh well we will try." Confused I ask, should I choose a different day. And he says "no we just prefer a four hour window." I say, "but you all gave me a two hour window the last time!" And he responds "as I said we are really sorry about the mistake but your plumber doesn't work on Tuesdays." Yes, this set me off too! I told them 2-6 would be fine and ended the call. The next appointment day rolls around and at 4:45 I receive a call from that same kid saying your plumber is about to turn into your apartment. I rush home expecting to find him waiting at the gate and no plumber. So I go in, park my car and walk back out to the gate to let him in. Still no plumber. It's about 20 degrees that day. Flustered, I call the number back and say "he must be at the wrong gate" to which the kid says "oh no was just turning off the main exit to your apartment." I stand and wait another 15 minutes and finally the truck pulls in. It is now 5:40. Same plumber from before. I open the gate and he just drives on through to my apartment and waits till I walk all the way back before getting out. This time he spends about 7 minutes in my bathroom before telling me we would have to reschedule until the water could be shut off to the building and leaves! I immediately get in contact with the landlord who says "I told them from the beginning they would have to do that. They said they wouldn't need to." Both of us furious we decide to make the final arrangements with the management company for the water to be shut off and the four hour window appointment time. Because of shutting the water off to the building it had to be from 10-2 for the least inconvenience to other tenants, and I had to take a day off from work. Here I am writing this review at 2:55 and only just receiving a call from the plumber that they are here. The plumber has now been in my house 30 minutes and still the work is not done. So what should I say when my neighbors come knocking because they have no water and were informed the water would be turned back on no later than 3? I found the company through Home Depot's service department. I paid them up front to service my air and heating system for 1 year. They were suppose to come out once in the winter and once in the summer. They came out in the winter, offered me some items I should replace and i told them i would think about it. No big deal, i was fine with the service. Here comes the problem. I called in the summer to get the second half of the job done (i paid in full in the winter because it was cheaper to do so). my first appointment was moved back because other people had units that were not working at all. I was okay with that. My unit worked, no big deal. Second appointment no one ever called me and it was missed. The person re-scheduled my appt that day for about 2 weeks later. 2 weeks later no one called or came. I called back and they said i was never on the calendar. The lady rescheduled my appt for the upcoming Saturday from 9-1pm. I waited and at 12:45 I called and again was not on the calendar. I now have an appt for next week. We will see what happens. I hate wasting time on a company that can't keep up with my appt after they have been paid for the service. At this point, I just want them to service it so it can be over. Mishaps like this make me not trust a company to do other work. I will also be letting Home Depot know about the type of service they are sending. read more

An update to my last review. One of the managers, Kathy, saw my review on here and contacted me and rectified the situation immediately. She was great and made sure to tell me that she would personally handle the situation moving forward. Within a couple of days, she had another plumber out here installing a new sink at my house (free of charge because of the previous misktakes). Kathy was great and made me feel much more confident in this company. So much so that I would probably use them again. read more

Joe at Rescue Rooter installed two toilets and was very nice. He looked at some other things in the house plumbing related and offered advice. He went above and beyond what he was there to do. It's hard to find people that are willing to go above what they are being paid for. He had to cut the tanks off the toilets because they were so old they had rusted. It took extra time and he had a great attitude about it and a great sense of humor. I will be calling him when I need a plumber with personality skill and persistence! read more

I would recommend no one uses Rescue Rooter. Company was referred to me through my Home Warranty company. Tech. did not show up for first two scheduled appointments, finally showed up on third day. Company refused to offer me any compensation (or even an apology), for my inconvience of staying home from work and waiting for thier service. This seems to be a large national company with evidently no local oversight. read more

Brad and Kevin were very patient with all my questions and thorough with their work. They came to repair/replace a kitchen faucet through my home warranty. They were so great about explaining the options -even sent pictures to my phone from Home Depot so I could choose a new faucet. They actually ended up replacing two faucets for me while they were at the house. read more
