After reading the reviews here I decided to post one even though it has been a years since I last had service with ARS/Rescue Rooter. A friend recently had them come to her home through an American Home Shield Warranty and I empathized. She thought the problem was solved after paying additional money (several hundred) beyond the AHS service fee. Just a few days ago ARS returned and all the money she paid for the initial diagnosis was not even the problem. I am not surprised!! I had such a problem with ARS that I requested that they NOT be sent to my home again. I struggled with them for months re plumbing issues in the home I had purchased, and finally requested that the plumber never return to my home again after he made some caustic remarks. Even after that I had to call American Home Shield many times in order to have the plumbing problem resolved. I was nearly a basket case after fighting with ARS and AHS for so long. The next time I called American Home Shield for service they sent the service request to ARS again; I told them again about my request for NO service with ARS. The manager at ARS called and asked me what happened and then offered no service charge if I would give them another chance. My 19 year old kitchen faucet was leaking, the plumber went to a hardware store to purchase a new cartridge and installed it. Within 2 months it was leaking again, which mean I would have to pay a $60 service charge to Amer. Home Shield to get another plumber to look at it. I went to Home Depot and my handy man installed a new faucet. I am peaceful now and definitely less stressed since I cancelled my American Home Shield warranty when it was up for renewal at the end of 2012. read more

When I realized that the 40-gallon water heater located in the basement was leaking. I called our A/C and heating service immediately. Johnny H. and his assistant Josh arrived at the house promptly. Johnny quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained the issue clearly and in details. He clearly was very experienced and knew what he was doing. He suggested to have the water heater replaced but was not pushy. When I agreed to the fair quote for the new heater and labor cost, they quickly got to work. Within two hours, they installed a new high efficency water heater and brought the pipes and valves up to code. It was amazing! Not just we avoided a potential big water disaster. The experience was great. I must also mention that Josh was such a polite, respectful young man. How refreshing to see young people who present such humble, respectful, hardworking and engaging manner. Johnny H. was a great mentor and teacher to Josh. He quizzed Josh on the diagnosis and Josh gave good answers. He obviously was learning well from Johnny. Josh was also fully engaged in the whole installion process. The two of them formed such great team. It was such a great expereince that I will recommend their service to everyone. Just wanted to let you know about a truly fantastic service experienced I just received today from Brian G with Rescue Rooter. Brian came out yesterday on an emergency call on Sunday because I had a major problem with my main exit sewer from the house backing-up all the way into the house. Brian came yesterday and surveyed the situation, diagnosed it as the problem likely being a problem outside the house and told me I needed a clean-out installed, which would entail digging outside to find the pipe. Since it was too late on Sunday to start the project, he came out at 9:00 AM on Monday morning, and got immediately to work. He discovered the problem to be a bad backflow preventor that had been installed about 12-14 years ago, and he replaced it, and did a much better install than what was there before, and he got my house up and running inside of 24 hours from visiting and figuring out the problem. I truly appreciate his professionalism and his knowledge in plumbing to be able to zero-in on the problem and repair it so quickly. Thank you, Brian!! read more

Joe was an exceptional service technician. He responded promptly to service our plumbing needs. Not only is he knowledgeable but he also was efficient with his recommendations. Far too often many homeowner's live in their residence and take functioning of their equipment for granted because everything is working alright but give little consideration as to what replacing an older unit (in this case) hot water heater, with a new unit can increase the overall function of this utility far more efficiently. We found Joe to be congenial and very respectful of our property. Just wish more service technicians were as thorough as Joe. He's the man. read more

No heat since Nivember 26. Ive had no less than 13 appointments which include about 5 no call no shows and cancelations. About 30 tickets that managers do not respond to. A manager appt that he didn't show for. Abdoutley nothing has been done. Missed work multiple days, had to go spend about 250 on space heaters. The unit is less than one year old and cost over 17k. This company Is a complete joke and will only show up if they are trying to sell you a new unit. Service is terrible 5 visits with a clueless guy. 2 senior techs that said exactly what needs to happen. And 3 managers who need to be replaced bc they cant do their job.​ read more

ARS Rescue Rooter are scam artists! Called them out through American Home Shield home warranty for by water heater. The plumber (Tim) told me what the problem was and AHS said it wasn't cover due to secondary damage...well while he was here I called my Master Plumber and had Tim explain to him what was wrong. My plumber said that everything he said was untrue....Well Tim stormed out of my house crying and whining....TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! He gave me a quote of $1620 to replace my water heater....my plumber is charging $150 to install (I have to buy the heater at around $400). read more

I rarely comment on sites like this, but this service call was exceptional. My husband contacted rescue rooter to address a plumbing/water issue we were having. Not only was Micah prompt and knowledgeable, but he addressed our problem directly and did not make it out to be a bigger problem than it was. It is very unusual to have a person with these scruples come to your home for a service call. We will call Micah the next time we have any plumbing needs. read more

Rip OFF!! Rescue Rooter was sent to my home by American Home Sheild our home warranty company. They are trying to add on additional services which 2 different professionals say we DO NOT NEED. American Home sheild will not help us and say for our warranty work we must use these people. We have been out of hot water for several days and every time we call we get the same treatment. Young guy shows up like an hour in a half past the time block we were given. Looks at my hot water heater for a minute and says its a two man job. Says he will work me up a quote so heads back to his truck. Five minutes later he says they can do it today for $1,700.00 LOL he was holding his iPad like he had drawn up an estimate... A bunch of blanks.. looks like he can go home early today. read more

Tim was great and very pleased with his service. He was honest and told us exactly what needed to be done to prevent flood potential w/ our ice maker in the future & what he would do with his own house, instead of just taking the easy way out like a previous plumber on our home warranty told us not to worry about it. Joe J. was the plumber sent to my house today. The repair wasn't a huge issue in and of itself, however, Joe was very friendly and professional and seemed to be a very good person. He had us up and running in no time at all (washer leak) and was super courteous and even wore booties in my home to keep the floors clean!
