One of the things I appreciate is the relaxed atmosphere, which allows me to work at my own pace, experiment with new ideas, and simply enjoy the creative process. The studio is well-equipped, welcoming, and provides a great environment to throw on the wheel or handbuild. Whether I'm refining techniques or trying something completely new, I always leave feeling inspired. I'm grateful to have a space where I can come and go as my schedule allows, and continue developing as an artist. I recommend it to anyone interested in ceramics - seasoned or starting out.

We found the studio through a friend whose daughter graduated from this place and we feel absolutely happy to be part of this art family. I recommend this place to all my friends with kids and the main reason why I love Oam Studios is because they teach the fundamentals and explain the basics (shading, pencil pressure, anatomy, symmetry, etc) to children instead of making them replicate an art by following step by step instructions. Students get to pick their own project and the teacher works with them individually even though it's a group class. Teacher Omar created a system with gateways (drawing, painting, ceramics, digital art) that makes it fun for children to explore different means and 'advance in levels' as they learn more techniques. Our Teacher Monique is so patient, sweet and friendly. The studio is clean, very artsy and filled with student projects.

I came in with a love for art, but little knowledge in the technical aspects. Through Ichen's summer programs, I got to explore many different media including charcoal, oil painting, and digital. The academy's instructors are very well educated in the arts and provide a plethora of resources and materials to help me succeed. They provided guidance in composition, technique, color, etc. while motivating me to enter my art into competitions... ultimately which I won a few! Ryan, Ichen Art Academy's Artist in Residence, has provided me with fantastic support over the years. I got a perfect balance of instruction and freedom to allow for the full expression of my artistry. I never felt bored or unmotivated because the instructors constantly provide me with ideas and recommendations when I'm stuck. My AP and college application portfolios both contributed largely to my successful MIT and Harvard application processes, and I am forever indebted to my time at Ichen for this accomplishment.

Everybody received their refund and I was bummed. I recently saw an old email from them and I decided to reach out. Rachel, the new owner, called me that same day and expressed how sorry she was that happened. She offered for me to have another birthday workshop and she did not charge the people that signed up last year. She even bought pizzas and salad for the celebration. She went well above and beyond. She was so nice and responsive if I had any questions/issues before the event. I will be definitely coming back for another project!! Thanks Rachel!

Rachael (the owner) was super responsive and patient with my delayed responses (it was difficult to corral RSVPs/get an accurate headcount, haha :( ). We had a 2-hour time-slot and got links to choose our own individual projects that also included a space to ask who we'd like to sit next to during the event (was a nice touch, hehe). She checked in with me on whether we were celebrating anything/anyone and if there was any type of music we'd want/not want to listen to as well. There are a ton of different projects available -- I decided to do a floral tray, but there were keyracks, wooden signs, picture "frames" and more to choose from. We started off by sanding down our projects, then chose our own stains + the paint colors for the project. The staff goes through everything step-by-step and they prepare the stencils for you. We were able to bring our own food + they offer water/soft drinks/alcoholic beverages for a separate cost. (You can also BYOB + pay a corkage fee.) I appreciated the consideration and all the personal touches. It was a great stress relief and really fun to get to gather together to just create things. :] Thank you so much again for ensuring we all had fun despite everything going on!

I honestly don't understand why people complain about the pricethis is an investment in something you'll have forever, and the quality absolutely reflects that. Way Up had pre-selected and well-priced deluxe packages (for labor, framing, mats, and glass casing) to choose from which made the process much easier. You can also go outside of the pricing packages for more customization but we had no need to go to that extent. The framing was done in a timely manner and I received good notification when it was done! To add to the level of service, a week after hanging my painting on the wall, it seemed to have slipped the nail one night and fell, severely chipping the based of the frame. The nail positioning was my own mistake; I was shocked and worried about having to pay again for the full frame. I took it back in to Way Up, explained the situation, and Sierra and the team did an amazing job re-framing it in less than a week and at a small fraction of the original cost. I will definitely be thinking of Way Up Art and Frame for my future artwork and framing needs!

I celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday party here, and unfortunately, the experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. She chose the clay art activity with a "Sea Friends" theme because it sounded creative and exciting for the kids, but the actual experience did not meet expectations at all. There were only three very simple animal designs offered, which was far too limited for a two-hour birthday party and not engaging enough to keep the children interested. The employees assisting with the activity did not appear to be properly trained to host or manage a children's party. Their instructions were unclear, they spoke very softly, and there was little enthusiasm or interaction with the kids. The atmosphere felt dull and unorganized instead of fun and energetic like a birthday celebration should be. Many of the children lost interest quickly because there was no excitement, guidance, or effort to keep them engaged. What was most disappointing was that, despite booking a two-hour party, the actual clay activity lasted only around 40 minutes. After that, there was very little for the kids to do, leaving them bored and restless for most of the remaining time. As a parent spending money to create a memorable milestone birthday for my daughter, I expected a much better-planned and professionally hosted experience. I chose this place hoping it would create happy memories for my daughter and her friends, but instead it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience for both the kids and the parents attending the party.

I was nervous about bigger kids accidentally pushing my baby while running around, but it felt comfortable and manageable the whole time. The slides and play structures were really cool and my little one had such a fun time running around and exploring. I especially appreciated that they have a separate toddler/younger kids area which made it feel safer and less overwhelming. As a parent, I noticed the staff did a good job keeping things organized and the overall environment felt pretty clean. There were also plenty of places for parents to sit while still being able to watch their kids play, which I appreciated. But it's either my hubby, I, or the both of us with my baby the whole time. Parking was easy too and check-in was pretty smooth. I do wish the place was a little bigger, but I also understand indoor playgrounds are probably expensive to maintain and operate these days.
