This review is for Suzi due to her attitude and rudeness. I've been to her once a year ago for partial highlights and I loved the results. This time I wanted to go to her for a full balayage. I showed her multiple photos of how light I would like to go and my only other ask was that we not go to my roots. But I wanted to lighter. She did an amazing job and it looked beautiful but ultimately it wasn't what I asked for at all. Yes we didn't go to my roots which I appreciate but It didn't resemble the pictures I showed at all and my friends and family and coworkers didn't even notice a difference in my hair color. So I messaged Suzi and very nicely explained what I was feeling and asked what the next steps are that we can take to get my desired look so that we can work together on this. Her response was to find a new stylist and she became very rude and offended that I was not happy with her work and that if I'm not happy that's my problem. I payed more than 500 dollars for my hair to look the same and for her to not even show an ounce of costumer service. She told me she doesn't take bullshit and her work was flawless and I'm looking for flaws. It was beautiful but it was not what I, the customer, asked for whatsoever. So if you'd like a hairstylist who is kind, works with their clients to make sure they're happy, and can handle a costumer possibly not being happy with the end results. She is not the one. For the amount you pay you'd think she'd want a customer to be happy. Ps. Her assistants are super sweet but they can't properly brush your hair out at all. They ripped Half my hair out. read more

I booked via instagram and part of it was my fault for not asking before hand. It caught me off guard how much I paid for a haircut, wash and styling. Salon was a bit dirty. Vents were dusty. I am in absolute awe of my experience with Art at Art Loris! I have had a basic haircut my whole life and never thought anything of it. I've experimented with color - blue, red, purple, pink you name it I've had it. However, my hair length has always been pretty much mid to low back my entire life. I unfortunately had a horrible experience here with a hairdresser. I have been going to get blow drys and she had her assistant doing 90 percent of the blow while coming in to finish the very last part. I have always been nice and tipped very well and not only did she seem annoyed with doing my hair but this last time when I asked her politely if she can do my hair instead of her assistant and she was so rude, she was short with me and couldn't believe her attitude and the way she treated me. I took her in and Suzi was able to cut both of our hair with the help of Annie who helped wash and blow dried my daughters hair. Annie was warm kind and friendly. Suzi was very professional. Really awful, offensive, and uncomfortable experience.. I was really excited to book with Suzi. I made my first appointment for 4pm and she had texted me asking if I could come in at 5pm because they were running behind- no problem! I arrive at 4:50, walk in the salon, check my phone and see she had texted me while I was driving (40 min drive) saying she could no longer take me.. I was upset, but after cooling off I decided to give her another shot because I know things happen! I reschedule with her for another day at 4pm and she offers me to come in at 3:45pm for a complimentary treatment. Excitedly I show up at 3:40pm and walk in to her and her assistant still cutting wet hair on 2 clients. I sit down and wait for a bit and eventually the assistant takes me over to the wash basin for my treatment. I was a little bummed I couldn't sit with Suzi with my starting dry hair to discuss what I wanted for my haircut and my concerns with my hair, but it wasn't the end of the world. Her assistant washes my hair and then leaves me at the wash basin with the treatment (idk what it was, I asked and was just told hydrating). I didn't actually get in Suzi's chair until almost 5pm. She apologized for the wait and we started the haircut. We start chatting and within the first 5 minutes she makes not one, but two r*pe jokes.. I really wish I were kidding.. I was horrified. There's absolutely NO context in which that is funny or relatable, and is wildly inappropriate to be saying to anyone let alone a first time client. I was holding back tears until I couldn't handle it anymore and asked that we stop the appointment because I would like to leave. She didn't understand why so I explained and she began apologizing, asked if she could hug me which I said absolutely not, asked if she could finish my hair which I declined, I just wanted to leave because I was not comfortable there. I grabbed my things, she told me not to pay, and I left crying. I really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but this crossed the line. She tried calling me multiple times afterwards which I declined each call. There's some really great stylists around LA, look elsewhere and do not give this woman your business read more

Love this salon the main hairstylist and owner Art has been cutting my hair since I was 13 and I'm 25 now and still love it. Other people just don't take the time and care like he does with my curly hair. He takes your lifestyle into consideration as well as how you like to style your hair and his cutting skills cant be beat. From long and curly to long and blue and short and curly he's taken care of me every step of the way. I have a text from her that states she would do highlights and she tells me on the day of my appointment that she didn't book me for highlights. She was INCREDIBLY rude. I even acknowledged that I was 30 minutes late (partly due to lack of parking) and she slapped that back in my face in front of her other clients. She was incredibly unprofessional. The fact that she was throwing shade at me as she's working on another client goes to show how unprofessional she is. I wanted highlights for my daughters bday and left with just root coloring that didn't even match my hair when looking at it outside in the light. Incredibly disappointed. I've never come across a hair stylist as rude and unprofessional as her. Will never go there again and will never refer her. read more

My first review got removed because I added all the graphic details. So in a nutshell.. I went to Suzi (aka SuziStylz) because her IG pics were phenomenal! My hair cut came out NOTHING like the pictures. I paid $150 for the cut so I went back to ask if she could blend my hair a little more, like the models in her pics. There was a big gap between the shortest layer and the longest layer (among other issues). When I got there, she was working on 3 customers (piggybacking) so she took me outside and screamed in my face that there are NO BLEEPIN REFUNDS. I didn't even ask for a refund, I just asked to fix my hair. She told me I was a complainer and said she was not going to fix my hair and told me to go to Supercuts. She was very mean, using profanity and extremely unprofessional. I was in shock. Then I came home and read all the other bad reviews on her before mine and saw that this is just her thing. She doesn't care. DON'T GET YOUR HAIR DONE BY THIS STYLIST. She's not worth $150! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Came across Suzistylz from her social media and fell in love with the work she would display on social media, and decided to schedule an appointment. I waited a few weeks as they get booked fairly quickly. I booked for a toner and cut. Finally the day of my appointment comes, im greeted by the staff and Suzi. One of the assistants take me in, which is no problem. What took me back was the poor communication between Suzi. Throughout the first half of my visit was the toning portion, which the assistant took over. I was disappointed with the poor amount of communication with Suzi, from the color choice to checking in and the assistant is another story. The assistant was extremely rough with my hair and lots of pulling/tugging which even led to having a headache for the rest of the day... once that was over, came the haircut. Suzi was brief, I felt there was poor communication or understanding, which definitely made me uncomfortable. There was no consideration whatsoever regarding your hair condition, best options for your hair health, etc. Just like another reviewer, I was excited for beautiful long layers and instead I was given short choppy layers and a burning scalp. It's really frustrating after growing my hair out and doing my best to care for it to have it ruined in seconds by someone you thought you could trust. Really poor experience. Would recommend going elsewhere, I promise there are better options and stylists who do care about having you look your best. read more

If you like the smell of cigarettes and ZERO customer service, Art Loris Salon is the place for you. I kid you not. I couldn't find the place first of all because they don't have a sign in front. Art was there in schlubby jeans and a t-shirt smoking a cigarette outside. I walk in and it is SILENT. There were 2 people in there and no music. It was extremely awkward and it stunk up to high heaven. The last thing you want is to walk into a salon and smell cigarette smoke. My smock smelled of it.
