Art morse Automotive. I took my beautiful truck in @ 160K miles, communicated that I wanted a New water pump, radiator, head gasket. They call back and inform me that I do not need any of that. Instead of doing what I asked, expected and am paying for. They say "Oh you just need set of shocks and fluids They held my truck hostage, wouldn't let me have my vehicle back, then charges $12,000. Not 10 minutes after driving off their business my engine blows and exploded everywhere. Art Morse is not utilizing his long term professional experience to mechanic your vehicle. His Words "The Kid!" he has some young, dumb apprentice doing professional expert work without skill or knowledge. They also pressure washed the inside of my engine bay and destroyed a lot of it. (He's stealing your money and paying a kid $10 n hour to destroy your vehicle.) Art morse scams the Elderly, Women and every customer he comes across. (He scammed $12,000 social security savings of a 90 year old woman.(She is too old and now too poor to do anything about it!) We called and he did nothing, he demanded that we pay to have it towed back, it was towed no less than 3 times, and Art morse never did anything, he never fixed any existing issue, he created them, he destroyed my truck, I had new off the lot. since the displeasure of being 100% intentionally ripped off. My amazing truck has now just been sitting in the driveway leaking coolant and oil over itself and all over my driveway. The removed my good shocks off my truck and put on old pre-rusty shocks that are literally the cheapest option at the NAPA in town. My engine bay is now full of electrical tape. You can see the damage, explosion and residue from what happen after the shop and the engine blow. I went here to have my windshield wiper motor replaced and when they called me to tell me the pricing before working on it, I said not to do it because it was going to cost $761. I went to pick up my vehicle and they said I owe over $200 for a "diagnostic fee". I said that I never was told about any kind of diagnostic fee, because if I had been told it was going to cost that much, there's no way I would have even left the car with them in the first place. The guy argued with me for a good 10-20 minutes saying that he informed me, which he did not. I asked about the video footage, he said it has no audio. He told me he would not release my keys/vehicle until it was paid. BEWARE OF SHADY CHARGES THAT AREN'T DOCUMENTED OR VERBALLY GIVEN! read more

I have been a loyal customer to Art Morse for over 3 years. I am not anymore. Let me tell you why: When Jeff and Josh were working there. Both left, which was a shame because they were really good at their job. First Jeff, but then Josh. I had no idea Josh had left when I took my car there for a repair. If I had an issue, either Jeff or Josh would come out and try to help, and troubleshoot with me there to see if what they did would help in the first instance. I truly appreciated their service and the way they treated me. I used to go back because of them. They were courteous and polite and they understood how to provide good customer service. On my last visit to this place, my car was towed to the yard. I did a key drop with instructions. I called up in the morning and explained what issues I was having and specified the speedometer was a longstanding problem that needed fixed; I was very clear about this. They did a diagnostic, and told me that they fixed the codes. Didn't repair the speedometer issue. It was past open hours and so I waited to call the next day. When I called, I told them the speedometer wasn't fixed as it works intermittently. The response was that I would have to pay for another diagnostic to see what the problem is again because they fixed the codes and the test drive showed the speedometer was working. I told them their test drive wasn't very long then because when I took the car out of the lot, five minutes round the block and the speedometer canked. Hunter argued back and kept on arguing, trying to justify an incomplete job. His response to my query was that if they had to test drive it longer, they would have to charge me for driving - on top of charging for diagnostics! Isn't a test drive part of diagnostics? The whole exchange was extremely unpleasant, lacking in customer service and downright rude even if they used ma'am. Bottom line is if I have to return with the same issue - the issue was not fixed! In the past when the issue wasn't resolved, I would call, talk to Jeff and Josh and they would have me come in, take a look, and we would go from there. It wasn't a line of: "this case is closed and this would be a new case" that I was fed by Hunter. I wasn't a number with a wallet walking in when they were working there. They would look at the issue I had raised, and troubleshoot it, find out the cause and give me a repair quote. That's the level of customer service I got and expected - and this time, Art Morse failed to deliver. The case wasn't closed because they failed to fix the problem. They lost me for a customer with the shirty attitude of Hunter and the other young guy at the desk. I have no issue paying for a service, but I walk if I am met with a lack of courtesy. Period. I have spent thousands to them when my car needed help. These two could have learned a thing or two from Jeff and Josh. It's as if they don't want the custom. No problem. I will find someone else who will. I did, in fact. It's an outfit recommended by the veteran operated towing guy that is run by a bunch of Hispanics and the diagnostic test costs half of what I was charged with Art Morse. Art Morse used to charge $100 and they pushed it to over $200. If my car wasn't towed there, I'd have driven off to find someone else. Greed gets pigs get slaughtered; it seems this business has forgotten this lesson, along with good customer service. Fleecing folk might get a single transaction, but it won't garner a loyal base - and the existing loyal base like myself when met with such service, will go elsewhere to place where I am valued, treated with respect and given fair value for service. The towing guy was cool. Helpful, and great service. He was a mechanic in the U.S. Army and this other place I am taking my custom to is suggested by him. The two young bucks they currently have in the office (Hunter and some other guy) need to learn how to harness their tongues, find some manners and deal with customers appropriately. Their behaviour is shocking. On leaving, when I asked Hunter why Josh had left, the response was pithy, and the tone was laced with condescension. I found it in bad taste to dig at the man who repeatedly went out of his way to help me when I was in a bind. Good help is hard to find these days. Loyalty is a two way street. I wish them well, but I won't be returning. Before I end this review, I would like to give my deepest thanks to Jeff, Josh and the mechanics they managed. It was a real pleasure doing business with them, and I greatly appreciated their combined efforts for the duration I was a customer with them. I am sorry to leave the good people who still work there, but the management has gone down the plughole. read more

Took in my pickup that I just bought thinking it needed a tune up. They asked how it was behaving,then they had a technician take a look at it. Meanwhile,they gave me an estimate for the job. I said go ahead and they ordered the parts. In the meantime,the technician said the fuel pump was bad. They gave me another estimate,I said go ahead. The truck now runs much better,and there was no charge for the analysis. They were very friendly and above board. read more

I had a slipping belt on my alternator. To tighten the belt, the vehicle needs to be put up on a hoist. I took the vehicle to the Art Morris facility, got my estimate and authorized the repairs. They took me home to wait out the repairs (new belt) and picked me up again when the repairs were done. The people (Hunter Morris) were great, the price was acceptable and the service was just outstanding. I know where I will be taking my vehicle when it needs repairs in the future. read more

We have been very disappointed with the customer service we have been given at Art Morse. We brought out car in for diagnostic testing which was quick and convenient. When we paid the $147 for these results, we were accidentally charged twice. We went back to Art Morse and explained that we were charged twice and received a refund. After a week, we received a call from the office manager, Gail, who insisted we had not paid our bill and requested we come down and pay them. We were very confused as we could very clearly see that the money had come from our account. We were informed that our bank statement showing that we had paid was not sufficient proof and were required to contact our bank multiple times to provide more proof that we had paid. We were VERY disappointed in the customer service provided by Gail during this time who was difficult and unpleasant to work with. In the end, our bank informed us that the second transaction was a glitch on Art Morse's merchant services end and we were refunded a second time. We went in to finally pay our bill with a cashiers check as to not risk another glitch and were informed that we could not receive a receipt of payment. After informing Art Morse that we will not pay without receiving a receipt, they finally provided one. In all, our experience was frustrating, unpleasant, and disappointing. For a company that has been named a "Top Shop" for customer service, I would expect to be treated far better than how we were treated. We will never give Art Morse our business again and will happily share our unpleasant experience with all our local friends and family. read more

I took in my car recently for a brake job. The work was done properly on the brakes, but when they discovered that the radiator fluid was low, they called offering to "take care of it" for $50. I declined and put in $3 worth of fluid and water myself. They later called saying the charge was to pressure test the system, which isn't what I was told on the phone- but no matter, I only took off one star for that. Fast forward to March 2017, I called Dicks Tire to schedule a brake job for my truck. They quoted me $200 for the front axle which seemed normal. However Dicks was booked out over a week. I figured I'd give Art Morse another try to be fair. I called and was told that the front axle job "starts at $330 and goes up from there". I said, that's not going to happen since Dicks is $200. They said ok click. So needless to say that was my last try with Art Morse. I'll never go back with any of my vehicles. I stand by my review here and suggest looking elsewhere if you want a good value. read more

I received over the top service! I took my Camry in to have the breaks fixed. It took about an hour to get a call back with an estimate. This was about 1:45 in the afternoon. The mechanic explained exactly what needed to be replaced and why, Les Schwab had told me all of the same things earlier that day but wanted $100 more...granted LS has great warranties, but money was a huge factor so I let AM do the work. I'm super glad I did. Not only did they rush to make sure my car was available to me the same day, they actually fixed my grill which a truck had backed into years ago...without charging me extra. On top of that they gave me a $25 loyalty card which allowed me to get an oil change for next to free at the quick lube next door. Finally...this is huge to me...while talking to a laborer there I was told that they treat their employees well and that he was "happy to work at such a great place." It's not easy to find places like this these days, especially in their field. I'll be back! read more

I have taken my car here for years. I brought my car in to get the oil changed. The guy guided me in the shop. The worker then asks do you want me to vacuum out your car? I said, no. The way he asked was like I was putting him out. Then he asked, do you want me to clean your windshield, he said, I mean your windshield looks pretty clean to me? He asked like I was putting him out again! My windshield was a little dirty. I said, No that's fine I guess. They didn't change my filter or even look at my filter. Their prices have jumped way up! I paid 69.99 for what? I will never go back. Dick's Express lube is better with customer service and they are priced reasonably! Dick's has my business! Had my vehicle towed to art Morse And they explained that it must be in the Ignition system as to why the vehicle wouldn't start. They charged me 3 x more than the factory had listed it. They billed me 290 to have a synced key made and only one key. I ended with a 900 bill vs the 600 I was quoted on the phone. The car died 1.5 blocks from their shop only to self correct. When it died again the explanation was "computer is shorted." Now they have effectively divorced themselves from their work warranty. I don't trust them. We have been here a few times, most recently to get brakes done. They didn't do them right the 1st time so I had to go back 2 weeks later when the brakes were burning up. Then they tore into my vehicle and told me it needed a new rear end at 3800 bucks....which was total BS I got a 2nd opinion and the rear end is just fine. They made it sound like the vehicle wouldn't drive another mile without this repair.....its been driving just fine...They are always trying to push unnecessary things on the customer, we definitely won't be going back. read more

I picked this business to do a pre-inspection of a used car I was going to buy. I didn't actually go into the office but had a conversation with a mechanic and paid over the phone. It seemed at the time that they did a good job, letting me know some problems with the car. I asked for an estimate of repairs and then negotiated with the seller. Then I bought the car and soon found out that it needed a new transmission. I would have never bought the car if I knew this. Seems like a huge thing not to find. read more

Purchased the truck and got back to Oregon and have now paid over $2,800 in repairs in the first 3 months since they quoted everything Incorrectly. You must trust them with your life, because let's face it, if your car breaks down at the wrong moment, brakes go out, tire falls off or anyone of a hundred other things. You could die. Recently my brother borrowed my truck without asking, broke it and then tried to have it repaired without telling me. Came home from a trip and couldn't figure out what was wrong. The guys at Art Morse found the problem, (crappy repair work at the shop my brother took my truck too) and fixed it just in time for my camping trip. Never been charged for parts I don't need or been up sold on repairs that weren't due. I recommend these guys to everyone. read more

They replaced the O2 sensor and thermostat on my Rodeo. The first time I drove it after getting it back the check engine light came back on. I took it back and was charged another $50 to diagnose a bad EGR valve. They said it needed to be replaced for $250. I said no thanks. When I checked the EGR valve myself I discovered the vacuum line was broken almost completely in half. I spent 8 cents at the auto parts store for some tubing and the check engine light disappeared. Don't go here unless you want to pay for parts you don't need. read more

Took my car in to get my AC fixed and the issue wasn't diagnosed the first time around. They charged me $200 to recharge the AC and put a dye in it to find a possible leak. I took my car back a few weeks later and they told me my compressor needed to be rebuilt. I gave them my extended warranty information and now they won't fix my car because my warranty company won't send them pictures that art morse doesn't need. On top of all that, they changed their mind and said there is something completely different wrong with my car. They charges me $54 just to tell me they won't fix my car. $254 down the drain. Never going there again. I'm spreading the word to all my friends and family. Very disappointed. read more

Art Moore's will rip you off they tell you to do one thing they fix it they put they break other things you put a new engine in and they break everything your car don't even Pass DEQ but then they charge you more money to me there joke and $9,000 later my vehicle does not still don't pass the EQ I still have trouble even though I replaced everything under the hood engine the radiator the starter alternator the cylinoid the O2 sensors the hoses the batteries which cost a thermostat thousand dollars for it they get it from Napa but I don't think they know what they're doing because they also messed up an alarm system that was on my vehicle for over 17 years with no problem they mess with it 3 months ago and now it doesn't work read more

Just after I moved to Battle Ground I took my car in to have it repaired. I ended up spending over $1000.00 in repairs. I knew that was expensive to have the car repaired for what they were doing, I had other quotes that were less, but they seemed professional and clean. Sometimes that's worth paying a little more. They did the work and were on time but as I was signing the check for over $1000.00 to them, they told me that I was a quart low on oil. Seriously, you couldn't add a $3 quart of oil to my car or for that matter just offer me a free oil change? I just spent over $1000. That did not impress me. I'm giving them three stars because they did perform the work we had agreed to and it was done on time. This just seems like another company more worried about getting every last dime from a customer as opposed to understanding the concept of a relationship with a customer. read more

Art Morse Auto Repair is a GREAT place. I've been going there for over five years with both of my cars and it's never been disappointing. Prices are very reasonable, communication is great and service has been beyond my expectations. You can trust them not only with your car but also with your wallet. Last time I dropped my car when my windshield wipers stopped working (on a very rainy/snowy day), they fix them quickly and changed a broken fuse all for free.
