I have been getting my nails done here for over four years now. The staff is super friendly and they keep the place very clean. Prices for nails are very reasonable. I have always had issues of having my nail polish and fake nails stay on at other places, but the prep work this place does allows my natural nails to stay strong yet keep my false tips on as well! I prefer to have the owner do my nails (table 8), but if you would like to have an intricate design the lady at table 7 does such beautiful work. I haven't been here in a long time. The last time I was here was Mother's Day weekend three years ago, when my mom and I came to get our nails and toes done. My mother's nails and toes were exceptionally beautiful, while mine not so much. Now I go to another nail salon where I have my personal manicurist/pedicurist. I'm always hesitant to go to a new nail salon. I took a chance on Art Nails, even with a lower Yelp rating, because they were close to my work. I went at lunchtime on a Tuesday, got a gel manicure, eyebrows waxed and pedicure and was out in a little over an hour. Kelly did a great job on my hands and Mai (maybe not as meticulous) did a good job as well on my feet. All I can say is I'm happy with my nails and I hope my next experience goes just as well. If you like half ass pedicures at double the cost of other places... boy do I have a place for you, I asked for a design they have on their wall and couldn't do it so she did her own design It was nice, if I was 4! I told her no that's fine if you can't make the design I want no need to give me one, she still did it anyways and she was like it looks good, looks good! No it did not!! She still charged me for it, and the full set was okay but she didn't even prep my nails correctly if I'm being charged $40 please don't rush and do it right and I sat in a chair waiting for my eyebrows for over 15 minutes and she don't even trim them..... I have been going to Art Nails for over 10 years...probably closer to 15 years (mostly for eyebrow waxing) and would suggest it to anyone looking for a "usual place." While the language barrier is there (it is asian owned), it is not a challenge if you don't mumble what you want done and speak clearly to them. They offer a great spa pedicure at a good price. I like that I can go in and can be out of there quickly. This works well for me since I usually stop by on my way to somewhere else. As with anything, you will have to pay attention to what is being done and let them know if something is not right as soon as it happens. It is also nice to hear when someone does a good job....just sayin'. Thumbs up!! read more

I went in and got the powdered nails on my natural nail, number 8 station was horrible. When he finished putting the powder on my nails he told me to wash my nails, and I could obviously see how bad they were, part of my nails weren't even filled in. So he applied the powder once more and my nails look extra thick because of applying it so much. He didn't even clean around the nail after he was done. I really had high hopes because I live in the area and not once did I ever step foot in this place because how bad it looked on the outside but I figured I'd give it a shot and stop being judgemental. I've been coming here for 4 years now, for eyebrows (ask for Tracy) and for manicure & pedicures (with anyone is fine) they're always so nice and attentive. They are also very good with time, I am usually in and out & have never waited longer than 10 mins for service. My only complaint would be that they need 2 Tracy's lol the lady is just THAT good. I would not recommend this salon. I had a pedicure and manicure done here. The pedicure was rushed and the paint on my toes was awful. The polish on my nails did not last a day. It was just regular polish so I did not expect it to last long,but not even a day! I decide to give them a second chance so I called to set up an appointment and when i asked for someone who does a good clean work I was told " we can not guarantee a good job. Well I go here for ALL my pedi/mani/waxing needs and have never EVER been disappointed Question - why would someone who lives in DALLAS go all the way to mid Mesquite to get their eyebrows waxed . . makes one wonder. Yes they are Korean and speak in their native tongue to each other but speak very good english to their clients - are EXTREMELY friendly and fast and do a GREAT job!! In the 4 years I have gone to them I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes Get my toenails done - 20 minutes and under $20 (with sparkles and art that they do freehand - try to get that anywhere else) Get my nails filled - 20 minutes and under $20 (again try to get that anywhere else) I have referrred several dozen friends, coworkers and family memebers to them and they are all still regular clients. Ask for BETTY (my personal favorite) but they are all good and if you show up 5 minutes to close you can still get the "works" with no attitude or decrease in quality (have done so in the midst of an ice storm when everyone else was shutting down shop). Went in for a full set and some nails were uneven or they would file too much on the sides so they'll look as if they were coffin (they were square). I ignored it because I was ready to leave. Few days later I went back to get them shorter and fix a nail that broke off the next day. The man was awful he cut them way too short and didn't even bother to check if he cut them the same length. As soon as I paid my nail chipped when I was inserting my card. They would not fix it because they said I had done it or I could pay for them to fix it. Definitely the cheapest set of nails you could pay for. The total for the set and the nail repair was almost $50. I have been going to this location for at least a year. On my last visit, I got a manicure and a pedicure. The nail polish kept smearing on my toenails, and when I asked to have them redone, I got attitude. When they went over them again, it still did the same thing. If I could give no stars , I totally would . I DO NOT recommend anyone coming here ! Their work is so rushed and mediocre, not to mention they are rude as can be ! I went in with my daughter who is 4 years old, thinking we were going to have a nice mother/ daughter pedicure experience . Well I was very wrong . First, they didn't start our pedicures at the same time , I was well halfway into my pedicure before they even acknowledged my daughter. They then tell my daughter to sit next to me and I tell them I want the water for her and for them to massage and polish her feet. I didn't want the cuticle care, cut down, and exfoliation. They proceed to tell me that she can't have the water. I tell them " Well she came last time with her grandmother and that's what she got last time and they did it so I don't see why she can't have that if I'm paying for it ". The idiot rolls her eyes and starts the water . Well no one ever got to service my daughter , they took other clients instead . And here my baby is waving the polish at them because she's been waiting about 20 min now and that's a lot for a toddler . She starts to splash , not hard or anything so she's not bothering anyone. This other idiot that works there has the nerve to tell her to not splash. How can she not ?! They were not servicing her! I told them to not tell her what to do, that's what I'm there for I'm her mother. In the meantime , my tech messes up my polish when attempting to put my sandals on after I told her my toe was getting caught . She didn't Listen and let out a big sigh when she knew she had to redo it . Just rude as hell. At this point I tell my husband to take my daughter out of the salon and go let her play. I proceed to let my toes dry once the tech is done. The tech asks me to pay and I tell her I'll pay when my toes dry and she has the nerve to say " No you can pay right now ". I, being the bigger person , say "ok well how much is it ?" She says it's $25 when the pedicure is $20. I'm glad I looked up at the menu price list . And I tell her " Then why does the menu say $20". She has the nerve to tell me " $5 for the girl " and I said, " what girl ? As far as I'm concerned y'all didn't service no little girl " and she said " oh for the water your daughter " and I said " you're crazy if you think I'm going to pay for that, y'all never even touched her feet ! I am not paying that ". She then says she would need to get the supervisor and I tell her that's fine that I'm still not paying that. And then the supervisor waves at her signifying for her to let it go. I just paid and left no tip. They knew better than to ask for one . And I'm always a good tipper, so for someone to not get a tip from me says a lot. Not to mention they started blabbering in their language when i was paying . Horrible job on a full set of acrylics. Asked for natural looking oval shape nails. Told the lady they needed to be short for typing. She cut the nail extensions with a scissors and cut them too long. I asked her to trim them shorter and she proceeds to cut them unevenly into coffin shape. None of the nails were the right length and shape. She continued filing them and what I ended up with was cat like claws, almost pointy. When I asked her to file them shorter and shape differently, she ignored me, and continued applying the acrylic. When I told her they were too long and pointy she told me to wash. I washed my hands, paid $18, no tip, and got up to leave. I did not allow her to paint my nails. I cannot imagine what they would have looked like if had allowed her to paint them. Went home and filed them myself and painted them. What a waste of time and money. Very unprofessional. Not a nice place. Low end, hole in the wall nail salon. Will not go back. read more
