Grabbed a few drinks at ART Soho Rooftop bar this evening. The rooftop bar is located in the Arlo Hotel in Soho. It's very spacious inside and outside with lots of seats and tables. It had a nice casual vibe with good music. An upsetting thing is that the view of the city isn't the best, especially when you're sitting down since the walls and trees are blocking the way. Ambiance rate 7/10. The drinks/food my boyfriend and I ordered were... 1. Peach Negroni: The drink's rum ingredient was so strong that it drowned out the peach flavor. It made it hard to drink, for me personally. However, the peach fruit roll up candy on the glass was very yummy. Rate 6.5/10. 2. Mango Frosé: This drink had a great sweet mango flavor, and wasn't strong at all which I like. Rate 8.5/10. 3. Dragonfruit and Tonic: This drink had a nice sweet dragonfruit flavor, and wasn't strong at all. Rate 10/10. 4. Guava and Pineapple Sour: This drink had a sweet flavor. It had a stronger guava taste than pineapple, but it was still good because I could tell they used fresh fruit. This drink had a slightly stronger alcohol taste. Rate 9/10. The presentation of all the drinks were lovely. 5. Shoe String French Fries: These fries were perfectly crispy. It was also a good portion size. In addition, the side sauce (truffle aioli) tasted very delicious. Rate 10/10. The drinks and food options were priced reasonably based on their taste and presentation. The staff were all very friendly. The service time for the drinks was moderate (about 10-15 minutes for the drinks to be made). Service/staff rate 7/10. I came here a few weeks ago with a group of friends. We had made a reservation ahead of time and got a great table outdoors. The drinks were great and the food was also good, but a little on the pricey side. We ordered the Al pastor tacos, the impossible burger, the guac and chips and fries. In terms of service, it left much to be desired. The wait staff was not easy to flag down and we kept having to ask for things. I do not understand the low reviews. EXCEPTIONAL experience! This rooftop was in my collection a while and finally made the visit. So glad I did. The staff from the lobby were very pleasant, and it smelled amazing in the hotel lobby! Then, we enter the rooftop and there was a line waiting to be seated. Definitely a popular rooftop. It's beautiful from decor to bathroom and rooftop. We did have to wait, but after a few mins standing the hostess offered us the ability to wait inside seated. She didn't walk us in so of course I sit at the cutest reserved section that was very vacant. A couple mins go by and Tyrel walks over to us saying a party would be coming to sit there shortly and of course I say, No problem we're just here until we're seated because I wasn't moving until I had to given I'd made a reservation and had now waited 10mins for someone to seat us. Tyrel quickly asked the name on the reservation, comes back a minute later and has Sophia seat us. She was so sweet. LSS, by the end of the night Sophia and Tyrel knew how to resolve a couple instances from door to door that took place. While they were extraordinary in how they handled matters, the other staff serving were also nice and attentive. Shoutout to management, HR Team, and the staff for exceptional service. Tyrel and Sophia especially provided Michelin Star service and deserve a raise or a better position/job! The food was amazing. I didn't expect it to be that tasty. The chips seemed homemade! So on Thursday, after work for my birthday I decided to come and treat myself to a little r&r(rooftop and relaxation) but it started raining so I ended up just leaving. Outside. you order from your phone and they bring it in and kind of check on you here and there. The service was OK! Yesterday, my boyfriend made reservations for us to celebrate my birthday here and the staff from the hostess to the bartenders/barbacks created an incredible, unforgettable experience. They were attentive and friendly, the vibe is beautiful and sexy. The music was good and the drinks/snacks were delicious. That cinnamon smash drink I saw in my dreams last night it was so damn good! Ever since we booked to stay at the Arlo Hotel, I had been wanting to check out the rooftop bar. Today we arrived in NYC. When we tried to initially check-in, our room wasn't quite ready and we were given 2 vouchers for free cocktails at the rooftop bar! It was a great afternoon and day to be enjoying the rooftop and sights. I got the Amelia Earhart (Avion Reposado, strawberry, blueberry, clove, ancho chili and lime) and my husband got the Ponce de Leon (Sailor Jerry spiced rum, peach, lavender, honey and lemon). You really come here solely for the view. Other than that, the candles are fake, and the drinks are subpar and are served in plastic cups. Here's the extra weird part though, that I've never experienced anywhere else in my life: I made a reservation this morning at 10am for this evening at 9pm. I got an email, TEN minutes before our reservation saying that the restaurant has cancelled our reservation. I've never seen something like that before. When we came, they couldn't find our reservation and gave us a table without a view because of it. Had a great time because of great company, but otherwise, super weird that they cancelled on us right before we came. Also super overpriced for again, plastic cups. Even though they are currently being served in small cups, the bartender did not disappoint. During covid times they are serving their food in a disposable paper lunch box and i did not appreciate the little bit of food that i was given at all. Mainly because the flavors on this small salad were just ...... so good. Like whyyy ! It literally looked as though they served me two tablespoons. It's okay though. The service on the rooftop is downright awful. It took 30+ minutes for each drink to come out. Definitely a shame, especially given the high price tag. Otherwise, this spot earns an A for ambiance. The roof deck is very large and although it got crowded fast there is a good amount of seating. Plus the views can't be beat (what up, Jersey City). My Tom Collins cocktail was so delicious and refreshing that I had two. I loved how it was tangy but not too sweet with lots of fresh cucumber. Gin and cucumber anything always wins. Absolutely everything that happened during my visit is 100% what I would have expected from a pish posh rooftop in Tribeca -- overpriced cocktails, overcrowding and slow service. After years of traveling to NYC, Arlo SoHo is the only place I'll stay now and it's really because of the staff. You are a wonderful, dedicated team who go above and beyond to create memorable customer experiences. Now, staying at Arlo is like visiting family. Thank you for that. Everyone is kind, upbeat, hardworking, and attentive, and there are several people who have consistently made my visits memorable: Terrell, Paul, and Razel -you have architected iconic moments for me this summer that rival some of my most legendary NY memories, and I cannot thank you enough. Anthony, Amaris, and Kelly are top-knotch, welcoming, accomplished managers. Meliodas, Mike, and Yana bring Art SoHo's bar scene and cocktail menu to life. Mateo and Jonathan are next-level bar-backs, seriously fantastic at what they do. Zula and Kimberly are my go-to wait staff when I'm having an event, party, or fun evening out. They are attentive, engaging, and so personable that by the end of your evening, you will want them to join you. Gabriela, Sophia, Tyler, Jelly, Roxana, Danny (JDR), Danny, Moises, Timothy, Charles, Enrique, Mounir, all stand out; and behind the scenes are the super-attentive runners-Omar, Akil, Mohi, Islam, Masud, and Gerardo- who help make visits to Harolds and Art SoHo seem effortless. Thank you for everything you do. For visitors, I highly recommend staying here. The hotel is in a perfect location at the crossroads of SoHo and Tribeca; an easy 15-20 minute walk to the Financial District; and within walking distance of hundreds of restaurants and shops in SoHo, Tribeca, and the West Village. Rooms are small but well appointed. I've stayed easily for a week, working in the rooms, and have not had any issues. Quiet rooms, stable WiFi. Courtyard rooms are quieter but street-facing rooms have better views. There are also rooms with terraces and outdoor showers. There is something for most preferences, so choose your own adventure. There are also several lounge and co-working areas on the first and second floors, including an outdoor deck overlooking the courtyard. The on-site restaurant, Harolds, and the first floor lounge, Lobby Bar, are undergoing renovations. The vision sounds exciting (thank you Gary!). But no need to worry, Harolds' food is still available in the courtyard, via room service, and on the rooftop lounge, Art SoHo. For a quick snack, burst of caffeine, bottle of bubbly, or the motherlode of candy, the bodega adjacent to the front desk is your go-to move when you don't feel like leaving the hotel. Oh, did I mention Art SoHo, the rooftop lounge? It has swoon-worthy views of the NY & NJ skylines and the Hudson River; sofa-seating for private parties (Ive hosted 1 or 2 or 3, but who's counting?), high top tables, and an outdoor bar. Come for the cocktails, stay for the IG-ready sunset views. But make reservations because it's busy all week. Inside, the bar is the highlight (IMHO). The black granite bar literally gleams and reflects ambient light, the bottles have a skyline backdrop and great backlighting, and there are leather bar stools you can sit in comfortably. No posing or perching here. There's also sofa seating for indoor parties. The cocktail menu is good and has a few worthwhile adventures. I recommend the Arlo Margarita-at least twice; the Negroni, and a watermelon drink that one of my BFFs enjoyed. For food, definitely try the double cheeseburger, the healthy Cobb, any pizza, and the wings. Again: choose your own adventure. A big shout-out to the GM Cordell Nelson and the Arlo, Harolds, and Art SoHo management teams. They are responsive to customers and respected by staff. That's as important to me as the experience of staying in the hotel. All summer Arlo SoHo was my home-base for my NYC adventures and I'm looking forward to new adventures in the Fall & Winter seasons. D. read more

Interesting rooftop in the south village. It is not too upscale like the ones in the west village. This has more of a bootleg hipster feel to it. We didn't have a reservation but they did have a table for us on the roof deck. We sat on the roof deck near some couches with the bar not to far away. Luckily they have table service so we didn't have to get up. It is not much of a view but still fun to be outside. They have some unique drinks here with the ice pops with alcohol in them. These aren't on a stick but in those plastic things where you push it up from the bottom. Used to have them as a kid and now you can enjoy as an adult! They also have your normal drinks like frose, rose, and all those drinks that we know and love to have on rooftops. Nothing wow'ed me here. Oma was amazing, she not only checked on me several times I watched her check on all the parties on the roof with a smile often leaving others smiling. Art soho is great for some.. groups of guys will be given the most comfortable chairs and couches. If, however, you are a group of women with a reservation, be prepared to be sat on uncomfortable plastic mushrooms and be told everyone is doing it. While there were enough open and available comfortable chairs to accommodate, host staff was unwilling to help. There are however some great staff members that will make the situation feel better. We had Wilson, who was not only an incredible server, but should be considered for a host who creates a welcoming experience and let's you want to enjoy more drinks and have a fun night. We got a mojito pitcher and Moscow mule pitcher ($72 each). They were tasty but not strong. We also got the cheese board and truffle pizza, which were underwhelming for the price. Food service was pretty slow. You're really just paying for the view/vibes! It was nice that they were able to accommodate our group of 8, which is sometimes hard to come by in COVID times. Cons: Overly crowded even though they say they enforce a strict reservation policy for covid, the wait time for the Pizza was over an hour, the service is terrible because you have to go to the bar to pick up all your drinks & food orders, long wait for food, weak mixed drinks, they also add an automatic 20 percent service for no service & rude bartenders. We've come here precovid and it was great.. with covid it's a mess! The worst experience and even the view isn't that great in comparison to some of the other rooftops. To be honest, zero social distancing is really enforced. People were walking around in crowds with no masks on. We got on an elevator and three people came in with no masks on.
