    Watermelon skewers
    Rumi C.

The Crown has a beautiful location and view of the city with a great layout of the bar and plenty of comfortable seating. The food had some interesting combinations like cheese on watermelon (which I wasn't a huge fan of), but the potatos and cucumber salad were great. Unfortunately, we never got utensils or water with the food. Just used the watermelon skewers... We also had an issue with one of the drinks not being delivered and one of our flatbreads not coming out without us asking a few times for them. By the time the flatbread was done, we had to leave. I'd recommend coming at happy hour because I don't know if I would pay very much more for anything other than the view... also minus stars for having an AI phone attendant that always routed me to email them...

We had a blast last night (4/24/26)! We are staying at the hotel where this roof top bar is located so we didn't have to stumble far to get home. They had a DJ which played great music all night. The bartenders, Dan and Sarah, were AMAZING! They were super fun, social and made sure the drinks were flowing. The views, day or night, are absolutely amazing from the patio. I highly recommend checking them out!!

The views were great! No line to get in and able to get seats easily. Drinks are $20 which is normal for nyc.

This bar is on the top floor of our hotel. We just stopped in for a drink before heading to dinner. The views from this bar are absolutely beautiful. It's definitely a must visit if you are staying at 50 Bowery!

I came here on a Saturday afternoon. You can take the elevator straight up to the rooftop. They check IDs at the door. It's fairly spacious, with a large main outdoor patio and a smaller nook on the side. Lovely views of the lower east side neighborhood. They have a few tables, which you can reserve. At 4pm, it was already starting to get crowded. Music was pretty loud so it wouldn't be a good place to try to hold a conversation. They have a dance floor, which I can imagine gets packed during late nights. We didn't stay long, but it could be a fun place for groups looking for a high energy night out.

Cool rooftop bar with a variety of drinks; on the pricier side but worth it considering the beautiful view you get. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the DJ; would go back! Instagram @sipsandsizzles

Went on Tuesday, 12/18/24 @ 10pm. Not many people there, felt empty. The outside was too cold, so it wasn't set up, but you can walk out there and look. The view is vast, but also a bit boring. Nothing "wrong" with it, but I wouldn't travel any length to come here.

I really wanted to like this bar. It's a rooftop bar on top of Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown. The hours are a bit odd and they do last call way to early in my opinion. Anywho, the first night my group and I sat at an outside table which had amazing views! The cocktails were pretty good and our waitress that evening was friendly. The views alone and the service that night had me at 5 stars. What brought me down to 3 was the second night our group went. We elected to simply grab a drink at the bar. Didn't catch the ladies name, but quite opposite of the first nights experience. She was super cold, rude, no greeting, seemed mad almost for taking our order. Definitely wasn't inviting, which caused us to wrap it up and head out after only one cocktail. I'd go back if ever in NYC again, just for the view. But their staff courteousness is inconsistent. Wouldn't be my first choice next time around. On another note. My stay at The Hotel 50 Bowery was great!

What a view! We made a reservation for 430 before our dinner and show so we missed sunset, but still we're able to take advantage of the "sunset hour" drink specials. Our waiter was friendly. The dumplings and spring rolls were tasty. Low key, this is one of the best views of the city. Beat the lines and prices of the observation decks and enjoy a cocktail with a gorgeous view.

This spot is amazing. Great food, awesome views and immaculate vibes. If Angel and Dan are there, you'll have a great time and fabulous service.

Fantastic drinks and views in the lower east side and a good spot to go to during the day and evening. Had a peppermint espresso martini and my fiancee had a couple spicy drinks. I was loving those pretzel bites they have as an appetizer and couldn't stop thinking about it. It comes with mustard and cheese. Stopped by Costco today and found the same exact thing!!

I see pics of hotdogs, but none on the menu. Is there other food items? My friend has a table this Saturday and would love to eat something other than chips

The crown isn't a place for food. There is a spot at the ground floor that's a restaurant that you have to enter before going to the elevators that lead to the crown rooftop. They have plenty of dishes there.

Are there minimum requirements or a price to reserve seating indoors or outdoors on the rooftop for a birthday on a week night? or is it just first come first serve?

Hi, If you want guaranteed seating outside we highly recommend booking a table with a minimum,…

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Make reservations for peak dining times in the evenings and on weekends. Many people walked in without reservations and were seated right away on Saturday evenings. Highly recommend trying their original cocktails ($18). We tried the flower child and the harvest moon. Both were tasty. I would get harvest moon again and again. Perfect balance of Tart, sweet refreshing and strong. Menu items change seasonally so it's delightful to try something new every time you visit. $21 potato croquettes were highly disappointing. Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Skip. $24 giant ricotta stuffed raviolo was delightful. Such soothing comfort food. If I could eat just this, I would be happy. $26 fresh crudo was refreshing and light. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.
