Artemis Foods recently catered a dinner in my home. They were OUTSTANDING. Planning was easy, despite the need to reschedule due to the snowstorm. Every dish was delicious and popular with guests. The vegan and gluten-free items were plentiful and tasty. The signature cocktails were fun, and the wine/beer/no alcohol selections were terrific. Their presentation made my home look wonderful; Lauren and her team were creative in configuring my kitchen/dining room in a way that created plenty of space for guests to sit, mingle, and nosh on appetizers/entrees. After having our wedding canceled last year we decided to have a small gathering at our home in the country. The moment I contacted Lauren I couldn't have been happier to have not only found her but that she was available! Her team worked extremely well together and I would advise anyone looking to cater anywhere from an office meeting to a wedding you will not be disappointed! Not only is Lauren and her team a delight to work with the food is beyond amazing! That's saying something for people who know dining in Portland is pretty spectacular. Amazing, amazing food! Excellent catering, server, bar staff! The Venue Manager at Everett West-(Artemis' venue) Amber, is very kind and professional! We would love to give them 5 stars as a cateter and venue together but too many up-charges and unexpected charges developed before our wedding-because communications were sparse the month and week before the wedding including having to find somewhere else to do the rehearsal and not knowing when the rentals were arriving so we could have time to decorate. In short we had to put that undue stress aside and have a beautiful wedding for our daughter! read more

We had an important work anniversary luncheon catered by Artemis Foods, at our office. From start to finish they were professional and dialed in. We had multiple dietary restrictions within our group that was accommodated without issue. No one had to put any thought into what they were eating because it was all GF and the Vegan/Vegetarian option was called out separately. My co-workers couldn't stop talking about how delicious it all was! It makes you feel good to know that they care about sourcing local and sustainable foods...farm to table. Artemis Foods did a superb job of catering my sister's wedding last summer! The buffet was a feast for the eyes--and the belly. There were great chicken and fish dishes, along with faux crab cakes that were actually vegan. Artemis catered our wedding at Ecotrust and they were great! The food was innovative and very high-quality. They suggested cost-effective options and were not all about maximizing the bill. They accommodated our very specific instructions about salmon-preparation, and the salmon was to-die-for. They were also flexible about some last-minute changes we made. The only quibble we had was, they waited until about a week before the wedding to get in contact with us to confirm rentals, menu, etc. This made for a somewhat more stressful wedding week. We would've liked more lead time to work on those details. But overall, if you're looking for true professionals and amazing food, Artemis is highly recommended! read more

Artemis was the caterer for a recent business event at the Portland Art Museum. They were highly responsive to my initial price and menu inquiries, and efficient in putting together a cocktail reception menu and floor plan. Most impressively, they did all if this from a distance (our organization is based in New York), and on somewhat short notice. Don, who I worked with, gave great advice on the number of hors d'oeuvres to order, and smart suggestions for the room arrangement. He was also happy to include a vegan and gluten-free option on our menu. I plan all my organization's business events, and often receive phone calls from colleagues on site to fix last-minute issues, or report problems. I have never hired Artemis, but I've had their foods on about a half dozen occasions. They specialize in local, sustainable, seasonal and often organic. They are connected into the architecture and green business community. They are quite creative in their finger foods, the presentation is great and the flavors have been nothing but superb. im not sure why Ive waited so long to write a review.... we got married last october and artemis catered for our event at lan su gardens. from the beginning stephanie was friendly and helpful and easy to work with. we were not very specific (didnt have the deatils all worked out in our minds) and she really pointed us in the right direction. we had a fairly modest budget and she was able to keep it very close while still offering great food and drink. we were going for a cocktail party vibe and i think it turned out to be just that. many people complemented our choices of local cheeses and beers. i would recommend them for any occasion. read more

Artemis Foods catered my wedding for 100 people and did a FANTASTIC job. Not only did they provide some of the most delicious food for an "eat at will buffet" but they also provided the service for the food and the bar. The food is still being talked about by guests of the wedding. The most popular (and most talked about) was the salmon on home made rice cakes. YUM! They were also able to fill in the rentals that my reception location could not provide and allowed me to provide my own beer and wine. (with a nominal per person bar fee) Jeanne was our main contact and she was pleasant, easy to work with and punctual. I would recommend this for anyone looking to "go green" for their big day or event. Their green practices are above and beyond most. Their food is delicious and their service spectacular. First - the pix on their website are not stock photos. They prepare wonderful food that is beautifully presented. We had them cater for a memorial; we knew we would not be up to dealing with food that day. We had several options -- and ALL of them were beyond delicious - this from several foodie people in the family. Even for such a small event, their planner met with us to review the needs and space, then prepared a detailed proposal which we tuned together. They arrived on time, in advance of the event and set up the displays quietly and efficiently. Throughout the event, they were attentive, unobtrusive, polite, and considerate as they circulated to check for stray napkins and glasses, and replenish as needed. They provided take away boxes for the guests / us, and packed / labeled everything. If only the food had been spectacular, I would have given a good rating, because that's always a bit of a risk. But the team was beyond perfect as well. I cannot recommend these folks enough. read more

Artemis Foods catered the groom's dinner for my son on July 2, 2009. The dinner was held outdoors, in my sister's backyard. I could not have been more pleased with Artemis, from the first interview with the planner through the post-party clean up. I was initially attracted to Artemis by its stated commitment to locally and organically grown foods and to the environment. My meeting with the experienced, comfortable planner, together with a fantastic tasting session, cemented my decision. The planner didn't flinch when the guest list grew from 40 to 60 a few weeks before the event. The groom's dinner went beautifully. Artemis had arranged for all of the right furnishings and tableware for lovely outdoor dining. The staff was prompt, professional, and virtually invisible. We were entirely free to enjoy the party. And the food was excellent. This was the first time I've used a caterer. I would recommend Artemis without any hesitation. read more

A 5+ star caterer! Artemis Foods catered a full sit down meal at my daughter's wedding party at my home and I cannot overstate what a very fine service they delivered. The food was superb. A large proportion of the guests commented on its gourmet quality, many saying they had never had such delicious food at a wedding, and others saying it had been a long time since they had had such good food at all. The staff managed to be totally unobtrusive while at the same time attending to every detail, serving hors d'oeuvres, making coffee and tea, providing the courses with perfect timing. They set up the tables beautifully, accommodated our need for changes, made excellent suggestions, cleaned as they worked so when they left, the house was tidy and guests continued to party, oblivious to any change in table arrangement etc. Food preparation was done outside the kitchen leaving that as additional space to mingle, get drinks etc. I cannot recommend them too highly on quality of food as well as service.
