Victoria Spa and Massage

Victoria Spa and Massage

I have been lucky enough to have massages around the world. I was shocked to find that the best…read moretherapeutic massage I would ever have was from "Delia" as Victoria Spa. I always have to say something about the pressure and in this case, I didn't peep a word for I was passed out on the table. She had me smell a variety of aromatics thru my 60 min massage which produced even deeper relaxation. I wanted to go back but didn't get the chance. The next time I'm in PV, I will definitely go here. 300 pesos for 60 min.

This place should not be in business, at least not in the business of waxing…read more I am not saying this to be hyperbolic, nor am I projecting American standards of sanitation, service, or comfort. I am stating this as a matter of fact. This woman simply did not know what she was doing. First of all, the wax was likely not hot enough - which is already going to be the start of a world of problems. Second, slathering a large amount of wax (with an applicator, instead of a popsicle stick) in a widespread area is going to cause it to cool and harden. Third, trying to trim the hair with scissors AFTER applying the wax and having the hair stick together in clumps, is a sadistic form of torture. All of these faux-paus should be common sense to an average human being, let alone an employed esthetician! She ended up having to go over the same area multiple times, and often had to yank the same strip of paper in continuous attempts (YEOWCH). She made no effort to keep the skin taut, had no methodology for how she was choosing to remove the hair to begin with, and then went in there with the scissors AFTER the wax had hardened. Your next door neighbor would have done a less amateurish job. If this sounds bad, believe me - it was even worse. I would prefer not to get into greater detail as it involves descriptions of intimate parts. But I really was not comfortable with how close she got to certain areas as a result of her own incompetence and failure to remove the hair on the first attempt - or several. I had to stop the process before we were even half-way through. There is no way I could have walked out of there alive if we had continued. It was not only excruciatingly painful, but left me with unsightly bruises. And because the job had been so sloppy with little cleanup, I spent the rest of my evening with sticky hardened wax still on my body, the pain and discomfort following throughout. Oh, and cash only, which is not true of other spas in the area. Insult to injury.

This was something loosely on my list of things to do. It sounded strangely interesting and I'll…read moretry almost anything once! My mom was in town visiting me and she noticed it as we were walking off the pedestrian bridge. It's located just to the north of the pedestrian bridge next to Pinocchio's Pizza. Service is very professional and everything is explained to you up front. They start you off by washing your feet. If you have any owies where the fish can reach they are covered with medical tape. Then you are escorted to your pedi chair. Immediately upon entering your feet, the fish are on you suckling the dead skin away. It's a strange yet not uncomfortable feeling. I got used to it after just a few minutes. We chose the 15 minute option which just comes with the fish pedicure. There is a 30 minute option which also involves a foot massage. My feet felt super tingly when I got out of the spa, but they didn't really feel softer. I'm not sure this is something I would do again but it was definitely worth checking out.

When you get there, your feet will be cleaned with water before submerging your feet where the fishes are. There were a handful of fish in each of the stations. Once you submerge your feet in them, the fishes were like magnets to your feet. They do vibrate as they work through your feet. If you move, the fishes de-attach and they go again. It would have been better if there were more fish. It was a 15 minute treatment for 300 pesos. It was a great experience, but way too fast for little amount of fish. My husband did it with me and he wasn't too impressed.
