I called dispatch who sounded annoyed. I also tried flagging down the driver multiple times, what ever he was doing in the cab of the truck was more important than his surroundings. Only relying in the winch cable and not 4 points of contact could result in someone's death if that car were to break free. Don't just rely on the parking brake to keep it in one spot. And also if you're going to tow in Texas y'all might wanna look into the DPS requirements here. What flies in NM doesn't fly here. ​

Keep in mind it was full when I put it in their custody. I was charged for a balance and alignment, but of course my car didn't get that. If you have State Farm and have the misfortune of wrecking in Carlsbad, do yourself the favor and pay to have your car hauled to literally anywhere else in the world. My husband almost died in a wreck yesterday, but Joel felt the need to jump down his throat about not coming to get his medication out of his truck the day of wreck. Truck is absolutely totaled and jaws of life were used. He won't even let us see what's in the truck unless we pay $600. We told him other insurance co will be paying it, but the police have given us no information yet. We even called the police and they said they won't have a report ready for 7 to 10 days. We explained We live 11 hours away and really need his items out. They didn't care. This is absolutely not common practice to withhold belongings after a wreck, and attorney will be called tomorrow
