My wife and I ended up here while exploring SoHo. The owner was super nice and helpful. Very patient too! We ended up just buying a print of a cover of the New Yorker issued on my wife's birthday! The owner and I talked for a while about the story of the store and exchanged our immigrant stories. He came through Italy and has a fascinating story. Whilst walking Bleeker Street on a perfect Spring day with friends, we were drawn in to Artful Posters because of the window and sidewalk displays. Clean and well-organized, this place is sure to have a print in the category you're looking for. The help was attentive but not obtrusive. Space is limited so forget the stroller. As a matter of fact, you are sure to have a close encounter with a stranger either on the way in or out so if you're claustrophobic, wait till the store is empty or sit this one out. Extensive selection of pop culture posters that extend back decades ago. I found so many things in here that I wanted it was difficult to decide what to get on a limited budget. The owner/employee was knowledgeable too. I would cite a movie and he knew how many versions of the poster he had. Even the ones in foreign languages. You can find artwork from 20-30 years ago, from famous artists, from NYC attractions and views, and from many more! When I first walked into this place, I thought it was a bit small and cramped. But they definitely manage to keep everything organized and decorated. I was looking for some posters to hang up in my apartment. Many of the posters range from $20-50 without frame. If you want to get your posters framed, they cost more. This place is a bit too pricey for me. After browsing around for almost a whole hour, I bought some cool postcards. I sent them out to my family and friends back in California, and they loved it! The postcards were definitely not the usual tourist kinds. This place is a scam. $150 for a poster and they can't even hire decent employees. The owner was very nice and told me I could exchange a medium sized poster for a larger size if it is too small for my space. When I went back, a different worker told me that it was too creased to take back when it was creased from them rolling it up in plastic wrap in the first place. Maybe you should find a different way to wrap your products if you're going to blame it on consumers after it's bent from you rolling it up. Trash place. Overpriced. Don't recommend. Do yourself a favor and order your posters from Etsy instead. Same prints, cheaper prices, plus you don't have to deal with rude money hungry employees. read more

This place has the standard racks and racks of posters like in a lot of other poster stores the main differences is that this is in the very beautiful Soho along the rows of shops and restaurants, they also have one of the largest selections of cards and post cards you'll find anywhere in New York (not tourist NYC post cards but photos and art that you may not want to buy a poster of but want a mini version or to send to someone). They're a little pricey with everything here but the selection is good. They also have a pretty website where you can look up a lot of their posters (although I think the website has cheaper prices so I'd go into the store and see if they can match their own prices). And like anywhere else, they'll custom frame anything you want. read more
