First of all, to clarify, I am NOT the other Peter M below with the March 2023 rating of 2 stars. I…read morelived in MN for 35 years tho, and I bought my Savage Rohr 15 way back in 2001, and it is the one piece of gear I have kept longer than any other gear Ive owned except my tuner! It is a fantastic amp with a variety of tones. 25 years old, looks brand new, and the sound is terrific! I moved to Colorado 13 years ago, and I still send the head back to Jeff for repairs unless its just a tube swap. But honestly, this amp is a beast of a workhorse and so well built, the only things Ive had to update were a loose tube socket and my own choice of updating the head to be switchable to half power (ala 15x). I play live often and get tons of compliments on both the sound and the look, and its cool to meet people who recognize the Savage brand out here in the mountains. Ive also owned a Macht 6 and had my pedal board updated there as well. Jeff is super friendly and the service is the highest quality! Side note - I just saw that they are back making amps again, which is awesome to hear!

Now it sounds more aggressively punchy and I love it, Jeff is so good in his profession and a kind person as well !

When I sell or purchase something I frequently do it there because I know that they'll give a fair price. Whenever anyone asks me to help sell an instrument. Every time. So my friend is an older fellow and he can't get around to St. Paul easily. So I said I'd find out what Music Go Round would recommend. I made the joke that I want to buy it. 0 chance I could afford what this thing is worth. I'd like to buy a Lamborghini as well, but nobody takes me seriously when I say that either. So explain all of that. The owner's little feelings got hurt because I mentioned that I want the guitar. So he fly out refused to help me. "I don't do market appraisals." So he wouldn't hear me when I tried to explain. It was extremely disrespectful & could have been handled with a little communication. I didn't get that. So this guy is taking the ONLY positive thing about B&H stores and throwing it out the window. Why wouldn't I reach out to Sweetwater to discover something like this? That's the next move. I love the guy you have working there. I think he's in a vest. He has always been kind, cool and professional to me every conversation. It is unfortunate for him that he has to work with this owner. This will sadden me when store inevitably closes, he only has himself to blame. C'mon dude. Build a relationship with your clients. Talk to people. Care a little. You had my full allegiance to your store. But all of that is washed away. Keep people close. I love sending people to Music Go Round but now I'd be embarrassed if you decide you don't like one or my friends.

Confused, and slightly pissed off: A week before my wedding…read moreI called to ask about rentals, the person I spoke with on the phone was confident in everything I was interested in, and quoted $550 for the rental. He also mentioned that this specific store was well stocked and I didn't need to make a reservation, so I didn't. A week later (two days before my wedding), I go in person to make the actual rental. Here is where things get interesting. They told me they don't usually rent out wireless mics, I needed two of them, they also didn't have the mixing board I wanted (Model-12 with SD Card recording capabilities). Fortunately they were able to pivot and rented me some new gear that worked well, but they charged $700 for the rental, so whoever I spoke with on the phone either wasn't well informed, or didn't calculate the rental properly, either way, the additional $150 ($300 with the deposits) didn't result in customer happiness. They assured me that all of the gear was checked ahead of time, and everything was ready to be used. They also said they would throw in a couple extra XLRs Incase anything wasn't correct. This was not the case. I should have counted the XLRs because I thought I was renting 10, and there were only 9 in the package, and to top it off, 3 of them didn't work. The band had to literally drive into town and buy 4 additional XLRs. This is unacceptable, and one of the main reasons why I'm writing this review. Not to get petty, but the batteries were also dead in the wireless lav mic, and one of the four mic stands (see photo) was broken. Again, Unacceptable. Other than that, the sound was great, and the wedding was incredible. Okay, after the wedding, I go back and drop off the rental. I explain all of these issues and they say "oh sorry about that", then I ask "what can be done to protect the customer from this happening? You have rental insurance to protect the gear, but is there not any security or compensation to the customer if the gear doesn't work?" ... then they took off an additional $50, which is fine and all, but doesn't even cover the additional expenses of the 4 new XLRs or batteries I had to buy. Kind of a long story, but all in all, seems like there are some systemic things that need to be worked on, specifically in the gear checking, and customer guarantee areas.
