    The front of the bakers
    Sparkle P.

Let me start by saying the reviews and the posts have been great to watch and it makes you want to run to see the greatness. I saw beautiful croissants, stuffed croissants and all sorts of sweet treats and breads. So I decided to make my way there today coming from Lockport to give support and try. I walked into a bakery with a mostly EMPTY case and the few items there seemed to have been there for a while. The few things on presentation were a bit overcooked or burned. Apparently the bakery closes at 3 and we arrived at noon. While I'm not surprised the options would be limited. I wouldn't think there would be NOTHING AT ALL. I inquired if there was anything in the back and was told no. So instead of it being a wasted trip I opted to try a sandwich. Unfortunately the picture of the sandwich and what I received were not the same. My sandwich was FULL of Arugula. It overpowered the sandwich. There was very little roast beef and the bread was so hard I couldn't even bite it. I ended up taking the insides out and eating it that way. I did notice there was a rack with sourdough in the store and it was much darker than I am used to seeing. Apparently that's what we got. The price ($20.00) seriously doesn't match the product. I'm deeply disappointed if this is a new business. Consider your price point Consider batch baking so that you can refresh your shelves If darker bread is a preference for the baker, that doesn't mean it's a preference of the consumer. Sourdough bread is usually harder anyway, but overlooking it makes it worse. Otherwise the restaurant was clean. If you walk in know what you want because the counter or the line kinda meets you at the door. We experienced standing and waiting a while before being greeted.

Tomato Danish @ Artigana/ Buffalo NY
    Susan S.

Light-filled, welcoming space, with serious food on offer downstairs, and loft seating upstairs among plants. I love artists. When I saw the dangling hock of prosciutto di Parma over the sandwich station, they had me at, "hello"! (See posted pictures of the menu for all the glorious choices with prosciutto). I tried a tomato danish, which had a thin slice of provolone cheese underneath, which nicely tied the flavors together. The architecture of the pastry was incredible: Flaky on the outside, chewy on the inside: Yum! The parking lot behind Artigana is small, and likely to fill at peak times, but Exchange Street is near, and quiet, and has extra parking.

Welp, Butter Block was closed and I had already decided in my mind that I wanted to take croissants for a work meeting. Google did not fail me. I was able to meet the owner and try a variety of baked goods. Breakfast flats on fresh breads, stuffed croissants, fresh fruit Danish. EVERYTHING was delicious. Service was welcoming and attentive. Place is very charming with an upstairs sitting area as well well. So good to know that I have more fresh croissant options. Brava!

Pistachio blonde, cannoli croissant, and Asiago and everything bun

5/5 all the way around for taste and service. The owner is a gem and so sweet. We were the first people in today and she let us in and greeted us. She asked if we were looking for anything special and answered all of our questions- just a lovely person! The food itself is almost indescribable- the textures of the flaky croissants was something unlike I've ever had. It was sort of extra baked and really delicious. So many layers of butter and flaky crust, just so incredible. The Asiago and everything bun was my favorite item. It was buttery and salty and everything just fit together perfectly with the Asiago cheese in it. For a sweet item I absolutely recommend the cannoli croissant! The crunch of the croissant and the softness of the filling was the perfect match! Don't sleep on this place!!! Get your savory and sweet treats from this cute little shop!

I've been here more than i can count on one hand and each visit was a high five stars whether I dined in or swung by to grab food to go - admittedly life got a little too hectic and I didn't get a chance to yelp about it -.- - delicious food - friendly service - there's a cute sitting area upstairs (one table with chairs and an L shaped bar with stool) I've tried the croissant (plain & pistachio cream); brownie; choco chip cookie; daily special beef sandwich; nonna pizza; nonna breakfast pizza; baguette; sourdough loaf ... hmm, feels like I'm missing a few other things I've tried but stick around and I'll do a better job updating my reviews because this is one place I frequent often :)

Stopped in for the first time today. It's an unassuming spot but absolutely delicious! I ordered an iced almond milk vanilla latte which was tasty! I also got a stuffed croissant and #2 breakfast sandwich. Their croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery! The breakfast sandwich was melt in your mouth with great fresh flavors. I especially loved the pesto on it! The stuffed croissant is decadent. Highly recommend and will be back!

Everything here is amazing... it has to be some of the best pastries I've had in buffalo.

Eleven (roast beef) a must have
    Jurel H.

Yes this a bakery.. But when I say, this place is all about the sandwiches. Then best believe me, when I say it's all about the sandwiches. They also serve breakfast sandwiches, but I ordered the Eleven. Which is the roast beef sandwich. OMG... I think this is probably the best sandwich on the menu. It's that good, but honestly all the sandwiches on the menu sounds mouth watering.

A bad picture of a delicious sandwich - this is the seven.

There's an art to a good sandwich. The main components include warm, fresh bread, simple but high quality ingredients, and a nice sauce to tie it all together. Artigiana has mastered this. My sandwich came on warm, soft, freshly made focaccia. The toppings were simple - arugula, roasted tomato, thinly sliced cucumber, and thinly sliced Italian deli meat. It was all married with a little oil and vinegar. The building is brand new and very nice! I took my order to go today, but would gladly sit upstairs with a book and take my time. I absolutely destroyed this sandwich. I will be back again very soon!

Plain croissant, morning bun, everything Asiago morning bun
    Anh N.

There's one word to describe their pastries: *~DECADENT~* I stopped by in the morning to grab a box of pastries, but I think I'll need to come back for the sandwiches given how good the pastries were! The viennoiserie were super buttery and flaky, with a delectable crunch. They are GIANT pastries, so definitely worth the higher price point $$ Plain croissant: gotta have a regular croissant for comparison! Crusty exterior, with a soft and velvety mouth-feel on the inside. One of the better plain croissants I've had in the past 12 months Everything Asiago Morning bun: my favorite out of the bunch, I think. It was super rich and had a the cheese gave the bun a bit of extra pizzazz~ Pistachio stuffed croissant: It had a real pistachio flavor, not a fake green sugar flavor if you know what I mean. I can't say it enough, but the way the pastries are made here are impeccable. Cannoli stuffed croissant: a nice tang to the cannoli cream, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. As pictured, I got a couple of other pastries that I wasn't able to try out, but the coworkers were all asking about where I got the goods so I'm guessing the rest of it was tasty as well! Buffalo has really been surprising me with the pastry scene, I can't wait to come back :)

    Number six sandwich

The food was so so good! The service was amazing! My friend and I stumbled upon this place on social media. We got the number 6 sandwich and lemme tell ya, that sandwich was worth every penny! Definitely will be coming back!

    Cannoli stuffed croissant
    Kellie M.

First the smell when you walk in was amazing. Will be back to try a sandwich or pizza. They looked delicious! Tried the cannoli stuffed croissant. It was huge. Very good. I really loved the tomato tart/danish. The pastry was delicious and it had provolone and tomato on it, warmed up it was so good!

While you can enter from the street, it's also connected from inside the hotel, which is honestly how it caught my attention. The space is actually pretty big, bigger than I expected. It's open, colorful, there's a ton of natural light, cool murals all over the walls, luscious greenery, and a variety of seating options. The counter where you order is nice and open, with a big menu, and a sheet of glass between the customers and what I quickly came to know is their staple item, the cruller - a donut-like pastry that's super airy on the inside with a delicious icing glaze on the outside. Along with my oat milk latte, I had to try one... ok two. I got a seasonal Pride one and I can't remember the other one. Both were dreamy and it was easy to see why they are so popular. If I lived in the area this spot would totally be a go-to for working out of when I want to switch up my scenery.

I came during Valentine's Day weekend and the vibes were everything! It's a super cute space with warm and welcoming colors and decor. The space had Valentine's decor that instantly made you feel like love was in the air. It's a small space but from anywhere you're seated there is an adorable photo opp. I especially loved the memorandum wall honoring a relative whose love of baking inspired this place. I ordered avena (which is oatmeal) with cinnamon, coffee, and a croissant sandwich that had egg, cheese and ham (very customizable). I devoured most of my food before remembering to take pics lol but I promise it's worth every penny and was very flavorful and delicious. The prices are great and everything is made with love. I thought it was so thoughtful that each cup of coffee had "Happy Valentine's Day" handwritten on the lids, so sweet and kind and really made my day. The staff are very kind and friendly and there is English translation next to anything that is written in Spanish. I was working remotely so I was able to do work on my laptop and enjoy a wonderful breakfast. While dining, I saw many people stopping in for to-go orders and others sitting and eating with their partners or children. They have a menu posted on the wall as soon as you enter as well as menus by the cashier. They offer breakfast, lunch, a variety of beverages, lots of beautiful pastries and desserts and also offer party trays.
