Welp, Butter Block was closed and I had already decided in my mind that I wanted to take croissants for a work meeting. Google did not fail me. I was able to meet the owner and try a variety of baked goods. Breakfast flats on fresh breads, stuffed croissants, fresh fruit Danish. EVERYTHING was delicious. Service was welcoming and attentive. Place is very charming with an upstairs sitting area as well well. So good to know that I have more fresh croissant options. Brava!

Eleven (roast beef) a must have

Yes this a bakery.. But when I say, this place is all about the sandwiches. Then best believe me, when I say it's all about the sandwiches. They also serve breakfast sandwiches, but I ordered the Eleven. Which is the roast beef sandwich. OMG... I think this is probably the best sandwich on the menu. It's that good, but honestly all the sandwiches on the menu sounds mouth watering.

I've been here more than i can count on one hand and each visit was a high five stars whether I dined in or swung by to grab food to go - admittedly life got a little too hectic and I didn't get a chance to yelp about it -.- - delicious food - friendly service - there's a cute sitting area upstairs (one table with chairs and an L shaped bar with stool) I've tried the croissant (plain & pistachio cream); brownie; choco chip cookie; daily special beef sandwich; nonna pizza; nonna breakfast pizza; baguette; sourdough loaf ... hmm, feels like I'm missing a few other things I've tried but stick around and I'll do a better job updating my reviews because this is one place I frequent often :)

YUM - two Danishes, the infamous cannoli croissant, and a blonde brownie!

Per my friend who was craving a good sandwich, I recommended stopping here after having a great experience myself. She and her dad popped in after spending the morning downtown. Not only did they grab lunch, but they also came home with a full box of baked goods: a cannoli croissant, blondies, and two different danishes. Everything was delicious. In her words, "Their baked goods were far better than Blue Eyed Baker, which says a lot." They leaned a little more savory than overly sweet, with a subtle sweetness that made everything feel balanced and elevated. The real showstopper, though, was sandwich #6. A combination of mortadella, fig, banana peppers, arugula, and ricotta that sounds unexpected on paper but somehow makes perfect sense after one bite. Sweet, salty, creamy, peppery, and just the right amount of tangy--it's one of those combinations you didn't know you needed until you have it. Absolutely worth the stop.

A bad picture of a delicious sandwich - this is the seven.

There's an art to a good sandwich. The main components include warm, fresh bread, simple but high quality ingredients, and a nice sauce to tie it all together. Artigiana has mastered this. My sandwich came on warm, soft, freshly made focaccia. The toppings were simple - arugula, roasted tomato, thinly sliced cucumber, and thinly sliced Italian deli meat. It was all married with a little oil and vinegar. The building is brand new and very nice! I took my order to go today, but would gladly sit upstairs with a book and take my time. I absolutely destroyed this sandwich. I will be back again very soon!

Plain croissant, morning bun, everything Asiago morning bun

There's one word to describe their pastries: *~DECADENT~* I stopped by in the morning to grab a box of pastries, but I think I'll need to come back for the sandwiches given how good the pastries were! The viennoiserie were super buttery and flaky, with a delectable crunch. They are GIANT pastries, so definitely worth the higher price point $$ Plain croissant: gotta have a regular croissant for comparison! Crusty exterior, with a soft and velvety mouth-feel on the inside. One of the better plain croissants I've had in the past 12 months Everything Asiago Morning bun: my favorite out of the bunch, I think. It was super rich and had a the cheese gave the bun a bit of extra pizzazz~ Pistachio stuffed croissant: It had a real pistachio flavor, not a fake green sugar flavor if you know what I mean. I can't say it enough, but the way the pastries are made here are impeccable. Cannoli stuffed croissant: a nice tang to the cannoli cream, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. As pictured, I got a couple of other pastries that I wasn't able to try out, but the coworkers were all asking about where I got the goods so I'm guessing the rest of it was tasty as well! Buffalo has really been surprising me with the pastry scene, I can't wait to come back :)

First the smell when you walk in was amazing. Will be back to try a sandwich or pizza. They looked delicious! Tried the cannoli stuffed croissant. It was huge. Very good. I really loved the tomato tart/danish. The pastry was delicious and it had provolone and tomato on it, warmed up it was so good!

a friend and i had been wanting to try artigiana and finally succeeded last month; both delighted that we did. photo shows menu of the day, but there were also, as others have mentioned, several sweet and savory items in the case, all tempting. i ordered what was number 5 that day: Soppressata Dolce, 18-Month Di Parma Prosciutto, Artichoke, Roasted Red Pepper, Provolone, Arugula, Pesto Aioli. Friend ordered no. 10, but asked that it be served on the ciabatta bread, and that was accommodated. both sandwiches were excellent! we ate in the small upstairs dining area, where it was quieter and warmer (the place is small and if you're downstairs, where the door is opening/closing as customers come/go, it's chilly).

Really good food. For the turkey special last time and as simple as it looked, it was incredible.

The minute we walked in-he was engaging and trying to fill our mouths with the delicious food that he prepares. This in itself is so special and satisfying. The shop is warm and inviting. It's simple, clean, and fresh. The meatballs were so delicious and flavorful, and the bread was fresh in the truest form of flavor. The salad was packed with so many different Italian combinations of garnish that it was a meal in itself! The rice balls were shared with a local bartender on the way home and they were a big hit! Again, the owner went above and beyond to fill our bags to the brim. The food was cooked from the freshest ingredients. He is also giving cooking lessons and will be implementing the "real Italian" pasta soon! Cannot recommend this establishment enough.

The consensus was a build-your-own culetto, which sounded right up my alley. The ordering process was easy, although there were a few differences between the restaurant's menu (found on Yelp/social media) and DoorDash (no wheat bread option and aged provolone was the only cheese available). One thing I appreciated: you could pile on multiple meats without an upcharge. Naturally, the dietitian side of me chose turkey. The food-lover side of me immediately regretted it. My work partner ordered the meatball version, and wow - those meatballs, the sauce, and that crusty bread were clearly the winning combination. The sandwiches were served in little soup cups to help hold what I can only describe as a "bread pocket." It was delightfully messy, involved a fair amount of crunching, and was absolutely worth it. The office also requested tiramisu, so I ordered a couple individual cups, along with a sfogliatella. If you've never had one, imagine the love child of a croissant and a pastry shell: dozens of delicate, flaky layers that shatter with every bite, surrounding a lightly sweet ricotta filling with hints of citrus and vanilla. It's crisp, creamy, buttery, and delicate. Overall, I'm grateful for this opportunity to something a little different. Next time, I'm skipping the sensible turkey and going straight for the meatballs.

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
