Food overprice, not good service at all , I have to stand up 3 times to get service, sandwiches cold. I won't go there again, I don't live at Key Biscayne, spending a couple of month here. When we got there was about 3:15 pm we got somebody going to the table around 35 minutes after we enter at the restaurant, we were given the lunch menu, and then at the time to place the order, the waiter change our menus for dinner, of course what cost $14 at lunch now cost $25. Food was delicious, coffee was a bit of a disappointment especially considering the hype behind Panther coffee. My friend had an iced coffee that was pretty weak and my Americano was probably just American-style drip coffee- there was no visible crema on top. Otherwise, the menu was ample and everything sounded good. We tried empanadas (which had a great dipping sauce), arepas with cheese and avocado, steak salad, and truffle arepas benedict. This may be the first place on the key to have a great menu, at reasonable prices. The freshness of ingredients and the care put into preparation of your meal so not go unnoticed. I tried Artisan for the first time with my girlfriend this week. The appetizers I tried, tequeños and empanadas, and thought they were delicious. For lunch we had an arepa called Pabellon. The arepa was really good. Our server Nayra was timely and gave us great service. I noticed she has the same sense of urgency and good service that I demand from my employees in my business. She also suggested i try another beer flavor, and I liked it a lot. My entire experience at artisan was great and I will certainly come back with my family. This is quite the most unexpected place. Unique atmosphere, and unbelievably great food. I was not familiar with the unique choices the waitress advised all of the food was great. We went with a safe choice, and I have to say I was blown away. What incredible food they serve. The burger was the best I have had. It's true that Artisan has a lot to work on but many aspects of it are awesome. The service is a little slow but they're always very friendly. In terms of food, I would say that 1/3 of the menu is REALLY good and the rest is ok. The ok part includes the egg plates, quiches, and the less elaborate options but the arepas, some of the sandwiches, and their appetizers are delicious. My favorite dishes are the mini empanadas, the Reina Pepeada arepa, and the breakfast croissant. You HAVE to order these. Overall, Artisan might sometimes be inconsistent in their service but if you order the things you like it's an awesome experience. For newcomers I'd give it closer to a 3 but in general I think it deserves more than 3 stars. read more

This place is dirty!!!!! And I'm referring to the food (it's unsanitary)... As someone else mentioned, I was also observing the sandwich makers and I saw they dropped a loaf of bread on the floor and reused it! I also saw they use the same knife to spread the tuna and chicken and all the vegetables and condiments. Dear Artisan: I have lived on KB my entire life. I've seen restaurants come and go, and I can say without a doubt that service is a critical determinant of an island eatery's longevity. I love your food. I love the decoration of your restaurant, its ambiance, varied beer selection and Venezuelan identity. I DON'T, however, like your service. While one server is always wonderful (I've known him for some time now), I am shocked and disappointed by the overall lack of attentiveness at this restaurant, which makes me very upset because I do not like to visit restaurants that have poor service. Reading over Yelp reviews, I see that I am not alone in my frustration. Are you willing to sacrifice your reputation and overall success due to the consistent overall underperformance of your servers? Case in point: I was there last night with my boyfriend. Restaurant running at about 60% capacity; however, we sat towards the end and were relatively 'isolated' from the majority of the other clients. We never got water. We never got our appetizer, which was a cold plate that I believe requires little preparation and that we asked to be cancelled since it hadn't arrived by the time my burger came out. Which leads me to my next point: my burger came out TEN minutes before my boyfriend's meal, which was a SALAD with steak on it. How can a burger be made but a steak not be ready? Finally, our server never came to check on us or offer us a second round of beverages (by this point, my server 'friend' was tending to us even though he was not our original server). I am known by my friends to be an over-tipper, someone who leaves at least 16-17% even when I receive mediocre service. Nevertheless, I couldn't do it this time. I feel I deserve more from this restaurant--I expect more from this restaurant. I really do think it's a gem with so much potential; however, I do believe it's true what the wisest and most talented chefs say: people rarely remember dishes unless it's by far the best meal they've had...but they ALWAYS remember the places where they've received exceptionally good or bad service. read more

I called and placed an order at 7:06 pm. I ordered 2 slices of pizzas and chicken wings. I waited an hour and thirty minutes to find out my phone number was wrong and the delivery driver couldn't contact me. I spoke to a supervisor and their general manager who treated me like dirt. I was told after one hour and thirty minutes my food was 7 minutes away. I asked if my food was cold. Their GENERAL MANAGER TOGA told me to find somewhere else to eat and cancelled my order. This restaurant has the worst service in Miami. The servers are extremely rude and it takes over an hour for the food to get to the table. The servers also never come by the table to check up on their guests. They provided the table with water the moment we sat down and was never given a refill throughout the entire stay. Drove by and decided to stop in and see what this place was like. I like the look and feel of the place, different from other places in Key Biscayne. Place was full so we sat at the bar. Menu is Venezuelan but they have the usual breakfast items. American coffee was very mild and they don't offer cream, just hot milk, which is not my favorite but I made it work. Cups are small and not sure if they offer free refills as our waitress wasn't the most attentive one. Water is served in recycled wine bottles which I thought was quite cool. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which are fairly priced at $13, however at that price they don't include potatoes or anything else. I thought that was quite odd since most places offer the dish with some sort of side. I ordered a side of potatoes and they were actually home made fried potatoes, quite impressive. The $4 price tag I thought was steep, but ok, they have to peel and cut potatoes; I'd rather pay for those than frozen ones. My husband ordered the Venezuela breakfast. A different fare - it included 5 small arepas, shredded beef, avocados, cheese, fried plantains, black beans, two fried eggs and I believe sour cream. It's like a build your own arepa, but they are so tiny you can't quite do that. Taste was good and portion was big. They are also open for dinner, I didn't browse the dinner menu, but not sure I would come back for more. Food was just ok but again it's nice to have another option in Key Biscayne. Great local place! I was on vacation, and my friend and I stumbled on this amazing little gem. I had the Mediterranean egg white scramble, and it was great, served with soft, fresh baked wheat bread. The chef also gave us a taste of the restaurant's Brioche french toast, which was the best french toast I've ever had, hands down. It was super busy when we went, so it took a second for someone to take our order, but the food made it worth the wait. I am giving this place only three stars for a few reason. 1. They are new and I am sure that they will continue to work on their service and menu. 2. The atmosphere is great... Even if the food is only okay. 3. I had one good experience and one bad. Okay! We went in today for lunch/ brunch with great expectations. The last time we went was good... Not great... But we knew this time would be a winner (it just had to be!). With a cool new atmosphere that is so needed in Key Biscayne, we were primed to fall in love with it. Well... Not this time. To make a long sorry short, the service is subpar. No one seemed to really take responsibility for our table which meant that getting drinks was up to us, ordering was slow and painful and receiving our check was impossible. Well... Not impossible; they were very well staffed but if the waitress spent less time on her cigarette break and the other workers looked our direction things might have been fine. As for the food... The Arepas were okay. I've had better. My husband's sliders with friend tomatoes were interesting... Not mind-blowing. And my sandwich.... My sandwich... Was... Uhemm... Well... Tasteless. I could not eat it (even after trying salt and pepper) and had to send it back. No, I don't want anything else... I told the waitress (finally)... Just the check. Oh well sigh... We will go back, however. I want to give it one more try. Did I mention that we WANTED it to be amazing!!? Pretty bad place. We had 2 glasses of wine and both were bad. Bottles are probably kept at room temperature and open for a long time. Then we had a bread and tomato that was served with an extremely salted serrano ham. Probably the worst ham I have ever tasted and believe me that I know what I talk about. Then we tried the pimientos del padron and gambas. Burnt tasteless peppers (of course not from padron) with white color gambas that seemed to be frozen and re-frozen with no taste. In general a very bad experience. Service was poor, not bad but poor and waiter was complete unknowledgeable about food or wine. 0 stars if possible. read more
