We have lived at The Artisan for about two months now, and we honestly could not be happier with our experience so far. From the very beginning, Lalaine completely sold us on the community. The moment we walked up to the leasing office to check the hours, she came right out to greet us and kindly offered to give us a tour. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care immediately stood out and made us feel welcomed. The entire team at The Artisan has taken such great care of us and truly goes above and beyond to make sure residents are happy and comfortable. One of our biggest concerns while apartment hunting was finding a place where our large dog would be happy and have plenty of space to enjoy. The Artisan exceeded all of our expectations. Between the beautiful walking paths, convenient doggy stations, and the amazing dog park where our pup gets to run around every day, it has been the perfect fit for us. The maintenance team is also fantastic. Anytime we have needed anything, they call us the same day and are often able to resolve the issue that very same day, which is incredibly appreciated and rare to find. We also love all of the amenities here -- especially the pool, clubhouse, and business center for printing or getting work done. Whether we are relaxing by the pool or taking our dog out for walks around the property, living here truly feels peaceful and enjoyable. Writing this from the perspective of a daughter who overly worries about her mom! I moved my mom into this community a week or so ago and they have nothing short of amazing! One individual in particular, Andre Banks, has been exceptionally kind to my mom and helpful!! Anyone who goes above and beyond and doing things he doesn't necessarily have to do like helping her hang large paintings, lifting heavy furniture etc... the list goes on!! 5 stars! read more

My wife and I have lived at the Artisan in Laguna Beach for 9 years and it has now been taken over by Styl, who run the complex. I wanted to give a shout-out to the maintenance team, run by Josh and his team. This team of people are excellent and are great at what they do. I see some negative comments and I have not had the same experience. Josh is really on the ball and I have had Tom and Andre come and fix things in our apartment and they have all been great. I have only the highest praise for them. The office always send out emails of what's happening in the complex and are always nice and courteous. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I lived here for 7 years and have been waiting to write this review once I moved out. Let's begin: The management at this place is disrespectful and unprofessional and that does not exclude the leasing agents. They are extremely nice and attentive at the start but once you sign your lease, you are on your own -- The way they handle unit related issues with their tenants should be investigated. In the 7 years, here are just a few things I experienced: 1. Ant infestations inside the unit (which seemed to be a recurring issue for many other residents as well) ants were coming through the walls into my bathroom, master bedroom, kitchen and second bedroom. 2. My car was hit, vandalized, and broken into. These were all separate occasions too. Police were called each time, the office was notified and their response was "sorry to hear that, we will let security know". Keep in mind there are NO cameras in the parking areas except near the bike shed and mail boxes. And the security is ONE man that drives in his car around the entire community. One man...for an entire complex... and a complex that is known for multiple car break-ins and theft. Even the police officer from LBPD that came to write up one of my reports told me " i can tell you for a fact that the cameras in the parking lot are not facing any of the cars" when i asked him if he could ask the leasing office for camera footage. Be prepared to see police cars on this property every week, because that is how it was while I was here. 3. Mailbox was broken into along with all the other resident's boxes from the San Tropez neighborhood. Someone drove their car into it, knocked it down and stole everyone's mail. Which explains why NOW they have cameras facing the mailboxes. 4. The insulation in these buildings are god awful and you can hear people walking in their own units above AND below you. I lived on the 3rd floor and could hear my below neighbor walking on her floors. It was consistent thudding (though not their fault at all). 5. During the weeks of rain we experienced last year, there was water damage on the walls in my unit. Management was notified and their way of 'fixing' it was to paint over the damage... this seemed like a recurring practice for them. They will continuously try to fix things that NEED to be replaced entirely. When you're paying $3500 a month, this is unacceptable. 6. The front gates were ALWAYS broken, one of the reasons I chose this place was having that extra layer of safety with an entrance gate. 7. Pool and spa maintenance at the St Tropez pool was very inconsistent. There were times where the pool and hot tub turned green and would be left for days like that. Unable to use. Not one or 2 days but many, many days. But the pool right behind the leasing office was always in great condition, well kept and clean. I wonder why? 8. Rude leasing agents, and a lack of assistance and compassion when complications arose. They see you as a paycheck, not a valued tenant and it's extremely disheartening and unjust. The way I was treated during my move out was despicable, and had me tempted to seek legal council. Many of the residents I spoke to over the years had to hire lawyers to deal with these people. 9. Don't count on move-out inspections. I scheduled one directly with the leasing office to be done 3 days before my move out date. Not a single person showed up. I sat there in my unit and waited, and no one bothered to show up. Then a week later I receive a collections notice that I owe them $1700. Luckily, I documented everything and was able to dispute it. This seems to be a commonly occurring issue where tenants are moved out and being hit with collections. So be prepared. I hope this review will give some insight into what you are walking into if you decide to rent from The Artisan. I am happy to be free of this place and the people who work here. You couldn't pay me to move back here. 0/10. I do not recommend this apartment complex. There are much better options in the area. read more

I have lived here for three months now and I regret moving here. When they take you for a tour, they show you all the wonderful brand new amenities that they have built after raising everybody's rent, and the luscious agriculture. I loved how the property had an "outdoors/earthly" vibe, perfect for my dog. When I signed my lease they sold me at a price that I was happy with. Now I'm paying almost $300 MORE than my base rent... $3,000 a month for a moldy, stinky, falling apart MESS! Within my first week of living here my toilet was replaced because it didn't flush. My sink was calcified and entirely replaced that first week as well. Then the following weeks everything else in my unit broke. The fridge, the microwave, the dishwasher, all had to be replaced or fixed. The walls are wilted from water damage and wreak of mold and mildew, even with 2 HEPA air purifiers running, a fan, and windows open for air circulation it still won't fix the underlying issues the property owners are neglecting. Who knows what's going my on inside the walls/floors. Let me tell you more about my $3000 apartment. The shower fixtures are falling off the wall because they are molded and have water damage so the way they fix it is by painting plaster around the edges to "secure" it until it falls off again. The floors in my unit are full of soft spots... after addressing these issues management stated that the building "wasn't built properly and there's nothing we can do to fix it, and if we were to fix it you would have to leave your unit and we're not willing to accommodate that." There is also no insulation in between the units so when the downstairs neighbors have their heater on, my entire unit becomes so hot I then have to turn on my AC and pay to run my AC because my neighbors are using heat. How horrible and damaging to my finances is that! Let me continue. My washer and dryer are rusted, will not be replaced. My ceiling is cracked, will not be fixed. Ants and spiders are a HUGE ISSUE HERE!!! I constantly have ants in my bathroom despite countless bleaching/cleaning. Spiders have bit me in my sleep at least 2 times now. When requested pest control services they state that it's an offsite contractor that works for them and offered me to "spray it myself" since they were unable to let me choose the time and date the pest control service could access my unit. Again that's $3000 a month for a "do it yourself" I laughed. Let's talk about the neighbors. My first month living here me and my ESA dog was attacked by a neighbors dog who was outside off leash. I was taking my dog out to relief themself when a rabid dog came out from behind a car and attacked us. The neighbor was drunk, but paid for the $600 vet bill. That doesn't take away from the PTSD and anxiety this incident has caused me. I told management of the incident and nothing was done about this. In my 9 years of living in apartments I have never experienced such negligence from neighbors and property staff. I'm sure there will be more to add but for now my final note is, for $3000 I would go live somewhere else. There is a lot of newer, cleaner and safer properties 10 minutes or less from this one, check them out before coming here, they might be a couple square feet smaller, but they are nicer, safer, and cleaner.
