When I first moved into Marea, I thought it would serve as an intermediary location as I took my time looking for a more permanent home. After 14 1/2 years, Marea is my home and I've enjoyed every year of it The Property Manager, Dawn O'Brien, Is not only the most affable person I've ever met in a Leasing Office, but she has a real gift for hiring exceptional talent to help in the day to day running of such a large operation. If you've ever leased or rented in a large complex like Marea, then you know the importance of the Leasing Associates and how they absolutely determine your living experience at a complex and the enjoyment you'll receive from your Residency there. High turn-over, cranky.....or mad-at-the-world associates who just show up always make me feel bad if I have a request of some kind. Like I'm bothering them. But I've never felt that sentiment here and the Staff is always happy to answer any Q's you have, entertain any reasonable request, or fulfill any needs or requirements you have, and they do it with a smile in the most congenial manner possible. Are you kidding me I'd also like to give my thanks to the entire maintenance staff here. Fernando has been here since I moved here in 2012 and I'm always glad to see him come through the door if I have a maintenance issue to be fixed. He does exceptional work, is very clean and organized and he always, and I mean always, offers to take my garbage out to the dumpster when he leaves. Are you kidding me? Where else can you get service like that? Now if I could just get him to wash my car......... So if anyone out there is thinking of a lease or rental here at Marea, I want to assure you that you'll enjoy your time here as much as I have. The amenities are unbelievable, the location is one of the most beautiful in SoCal and because so many residents also enjoy living here, it's not a rental, is their home and people are always more welcoming and friendly in their homes. Marea is a beautiful place to live.. but did you know they had such an amazing maintenance team? My microwave went down last weekend- going into Memorial Day weekend and Fernando was already on it. He came by promptly, checked everything.. even checking one more possibility on the Memorial Day holiday itself and when it was determined the microwave was broken, saw to it that the unit was replaced. Fernando and his teammate Marcos came by today and installed a brand new microwave and I am so happy. I love this community and I am beyond grateful for the amazing team they have here. They showed up within the hour, were very respectful, but didn't have the right tools to fix the leak, so I went another day with a completely clogged sink. The next day I got a phone call that they were working on the issue. I got home and not only was the sink cleared, but the space under the sink, the sink itself and around it were spotless. My husband and I have lived at the Marea for 4 years, and I recommend living here to all my friends.. let me tell you why. We have a 2-bedroom with a large patio, and it is incredibly spacious with tons of cabinets and storage throughout. The apartment doesn't feel like a typical apartment at all; it honestly feels more like a townhome or condo, which we've always loved. Anytime we've had maintenance requests, they were handled quickly and efficiently. The maintenance team is fantastic and always so friendly, truly one of the highlights of living here. The community amenities are also fantastic!! There's a well-equipped gym, two pools, and both tennis and pickleball courts, which really adds to the lifestyle here. We've had countless friends and family over for summer pools days and BBQs. Dawn, the Senior Property Director, is an absolute JOY to work with, amongst the rest of the property staff team. She genuinely cares about the residents and it really shows in how well the community is run. And lastly, the location...The views overlooking Monarch Golf Course are stunning (plus my husband and I have played quite a few rounds) and having a trail that leads straight to the beach is such a luxury. Maintenance came to the rescue when old water heater was flaming and about to explode. I had to track down Fernando on site as couldn't get through to the office and he was there in minutes. Fernando and Marcos showed up next morning as promised with new water heater. They went above and beyond to make sure not to leave any mess and swept the laundry area of all the debris that was under the water heater. I should have hot water in an hour and be back in action. The leasing team and overall staff was very attentive during the leasing and move-in process. It's a large property but they make you feel at home right away. Ruben helped me for months to find the right unit, so once it became available I was able to secure my preferred location within the complex. The maintenance team has already been very responsive to minor issues that have come up since I moved in. Besides the beautiful scenery, great apartments and attentive staff, there is always a community event to look forward to. For Christmas, there was a Santa and Sangria event to which I was able to bring my baby and get his first pictures with Santa! Now, for February, there was a Valentines Small bites and Rosé event with soo many sweet treats to choose from! I was absolutely delighted when I saw the spread! And even though, I could not participate in the rosé, there were sparkling waters and other drinks to choose from.
